Cleaning and rebuilding a GM Alternator on a 1984 C4 Chevrolet Corvette.

My engine and power steering were leaking all over the alternator and there was black oil and dirt everywhere and I was worried that it would overheat so I took it apart and cleaned and tested the components except for the voltage regulator as I don't have a good way of testing them so normally if I was to rebuild a alternator that was'nt working I would automatically just replace the regulator but since it worked before I took it apart I just took my chances on it remaining good. Mostly because it is so easy to remove if necessary. This would be the same process on almost any GM car of that era.
