@@yuuyjaaj6721 oh you better believe we do, the ladies are always payin special attention to how hard we pluck those bass strings on each fret my friend 😉
For a style like this, most bass players find it WAY easier than using a pick. Bassists should learn with their fingers, once you can use 3 fingers properly it's like having 3 picks at once
This proves how essential the bass is to Maiden's sound. I have always loved that about Maiden. Though they have 3 amazing guitars, the driving force of the music and what makes it memorable is the bass.
why I didn't explored more Iron Maiden before ???? this song thrills me to shivers & my head started to headbang by itself ... I feel I really gotta un-dust my bass & get a real mic. And I feel this about every instrument in this song.
God knows how many bass covers of "Trooper" I've watched or heard; including a fellow bassist friend of mine whose musical career started with Iron Maiden covers, this one deserves a Medal of Honour as it would really send those cavalry men into a frenzied charge through enemy barricades.
I love Warwick but just wonder how Spector euro, legend or rebop would sound on this set up, I'm playing Rebop dlx5 using darkglass microtubes x7 and sound is out of this world (in my humble opinion) this was solid cover man I love it
I have a 5 string Corvette std so I understand the awesomeness of that bass! With all the boomsticks at your disposal is your choice of that one for all your covers because it's your favorite or because of sponsorships?
Both, but mostly because it’s the newest addition and the current favorite. We’re not currently sponsored but hopefully that will change in the future. 😉
Nice detail on nailing the two finger gallop! If anything i'd nitpick that you're not muting the strings between gallops like Steve does, but all in all nice cover
If you listen to Steve Harris bass only track there is another 16th not gallop that almost hits like ghost note during the verses and open melody sections. It's almost impossible for me to conceive that he is pulling offset triplets with 2 fingers like that.....but that's why hes Steve Harris. . . Great job. AMAZING JOB!!!
I wish I could keep up with this song but.... I guess I have to keep trying for another couple of years. Steve is really the best but this guy is awesome too.
To play it right like steve techincally you should have a floating hand on only use two fingers. But the rest of us are human so. What ever you need to do to get that Gallop.
@@Roberto-nn6kb The guy in this video is using 3-finger technique. You can tell by just watching his index finger play 1/4 notes. But, Steve is insane, yes.

Watching people play metal with their fingers is always so impressive to me.
Robert Toth I mean its not that difficult, I do it all the time and actually find it easier than using a pick
Doesn't Steve Harris use his fingers? Or just a pick, i seem to think he uses his fingers - cant remember.
You typically use your fingers when playing bass. Most of the time it's to slap the bass
@Indents Yes, and his strings are so low, that you can hear them clattering on the frets.

do you know if Josh's gallops are three or two fingers? can't really tell

@@ayyutha thanks, you're right

My arm is tired just by watching this, those triplets are insane
Im pretty sure the ”gallop” isnt triplets. Just 16th note feel.
1 + a 2 + a 3 + a 4. + a

Hertas, not triplets
Just imagine the Steve Harris' arms

Maiden on a warwick?
You've got the right idea.
From 2:10 you can see him headbanging 😆
What a wide swing!
The homie flexin HARD on this one, always sets the bar!

WOW !! Superb. Awesome to watch. You have massive talent
What a beautiful “CLANK” that Warwick has. Sounds so good. AWESOME
Those basses are beautiful in every possible way
This bass cover and the original version helped me push 10 more minutes on the elliptical 165 bpm 🔥

Are there any videos where Josh talks about his right hand technique?

Wait, is the ring finger is in use in the main riff?
You may want to lower/slant your pups a bit for the A and G string. Will help balance/equal out strong output when comparing the other 2
