      You typically use your fingers when playing bass. Most of the time it's to slap the bass

      For a style like this, most bass players find it WAY easier than using a pick. Bassists should learn with their fingers, once you can use 3 fingers properly it's like having 3 picks at once

      Im pretty sure the ”gallop” isnt triplets. Just 16th note feel.

    This proves how essential the bass is to Maiden's sound. I have always loved that about Maiden. Though they have 3 amazing guitars, the driving force of the music and what makes it memorable is the bass.

    why I didn't explored more Iron Maiden before ???? this song thrills me to shivers & my head started to headbang by itself ... I feel I really gotta un-dust my bass & get a real mic.
    And I feel this about every instrument in this song.

    God knows how many bass covers of "Trooper" I've watched or heard; including a fellow bassist friend of mine whose musical career started with Iron Maiden covers, this one deserves a Medal of Honour as it would really send those cavalry men into a frenzied charge through enemy barricades.

    I love Warwick but just wonder how Spector euro, legend or rebop would sound on this set up, I'm playing Rebop dlx5 using darkglass microtubes x7 and sound is out of this world (in my humble opinion) this was solid cover man I love it

    I have a 5 string Corvette std so I understand the awesomeness of that bass! With all the boomsticks at your disposal is your choice of that one for all your covers because it's your favorite or because of sponsorships?

    You may want to lower/slant your pups a bit for the A and G string. Will help balance/equal out strong output when comparing the other 2

    Nice detail on nailing the two finger gallop! If anything i'd nitpick that you're not muting the strings between gallops like Steve does, but all in all nice cover

    Never heard a song in f minor with this sort of buildup especially the crescendo before the last riff into the finale at the start

    If you listen to Steve Harris bass only track there is another 16th not gallop that almost hits like ghost note during the verses and open melody sections.
    It's almost impossible for me to conceive that he is pulling offset triplets with 2 fingers like that.....but that's why hes Steve Harris.

    Do you play that gallop with three fingers or two fingers? I can't keep that pace with two fingers, but then again I suck.

      To play it right like steve techincally you should have a floating hand on only use two fingers. But the rest of us are human so. What ever you need to do to get that Gallop.

      i usually use 3,, it takes a while to get used to but once you get it, it’s much easier than using 2.
