    Hi! Thank you for saving my 4510s! It worked a treat your advice! Once cleaned, increased the Ram to 4G, and installed Win10 and ext 1T HD ... it's an all new machine! Ah, I did not heat the motherboard or anything else! Just a good spring clean!

    It is a temporary solution, the black screen will come back again , just a matter of the time.
    But it's good solution to get the data back right away.

    2 3 months max hope you tell your clients that. Also i use the floor only when using heat gun you won't destroy anything you can just take the board out remove the cooling system and heat the chip for 1-2 minutes pause each 10 15 seconds let it cool out and you done. I stopped bothering with this model it is a huge hassle to get to the mainboard to fix it for just for 2 months every 2 months.

    great vid!,
    could you please tell what might be the problem: laptop is probook 4520s, there is a black screen on startup, video adapter works because i checked it with external monitor and it starts in safe mode but if started normally it shows BSOD, could the BSOD (blue screen error) be the cause of black screen?
    thanks

    So yeah, I'm looking into a friends' 4515s which has the exact black screen problem.
    Finally I opened it up, removed the heatsink and....there's no GPU! Only the CPU and the Chipset (I think)
    What should I do now? What should I heat up? Thanks for any answers.

    Hi There, I have an HP Probook 4415s , and is the 2nd time I have this issue with my Notebook, I took to the HP Service Dept and they told me that is a very persistent issue with those models made in 2009 2010 Notebooks . They have somebody at the Service dept. ready to solve this issue because is a very recurrent one. I myself did all the stuff to get off the Hardisk to read some information to my other PCs and place it back but no tried to open any further the notebook.
    Kind regards

    Hi, I have the same problem on my girlfriend notebook, I will definitely try your repair, but i don't understandy why you heated up the GPU. Could you please tell me why did you do that?

    • @alwaysafix
      @alwaysafix  9 лет назад +4

      hitchrx Due to overheating of the GPU because of blocked ventilation, some of the solder contacts under the chip have broken. We heat up the GPU to reflow the solder. If you are 100% sure it's your GPU, I recommend getting it reballed. This entails replacing the solder and is a guaranteed fixed. Thanks for watching.

    Hi
    1st thing can you explain to me why did you heat the motherboard ??
    2nd thing i have the same problem with my laptop .. i've tried to connect other screens on HDMI but it didn't work ... is this method efficient in fixing the problem or it's just a temporary solution ? cause if it was temporary i prefer to take it to a computer specialist from the start ...
    and thank you for the amazing video :)

    • @pds8475
      @pds8475 5 лет назад

      I notice that no one replied to your question. But as a very late reply, if you haven't found the answer since. Preheating the motherboard allows the solder to stick better when you reflow the chip. Solder doesn't like sticking to cold surfaces.

I was try to remove battery, wind+B+power, put with usb new bios driver, and nothing. Blinking blue and yellow light on left down side of laptop. When I try to turn on with win+B+power also blinking caps lock blue light and fen works faster. Do you have some sugestion, buy new laptop or this can be fixed?
