Like I said on my post for their version of Nature Boy, I love TRG, I really do...
But come on guys, there was dubbing on this track, no question. The audio was not live. Listen to the words "just to find" at 1:01 and 1:56... and to another high note at 1:34. That's 2 voices, and both Katarina's. Dubbing is commonly used on higher notes like that, to give the voice a stronger, more resonant quality.
Still a wonderful version.
Bitofinger Alastname I saw your post on the last video, and I wasn't going to say anything until I saw your comment here as well. Assuming you're right, what are you trying to prove? That they claimed this was live and you used your knowledge of recording and vocal production to show everyone that it wasn't? It makes me think you saw the words "live" and immediately went into detective mode. TRG is one of the best a capella groups in the world, and when I had the opportunity to see them a few years ago, it may have well been a CD recording with how perfect it was. At the end of the day, if you know TRG is amazing, why not just enjoy the music and forgive all (if any) post recording tweaks they made to give us a better product to watch and listen to FOR FREE here online?
I guess it's because a vast majority of listeners (of any kind of music) don't seem to realise what goes on behind the scenes, and go all fanboy/fangirl on musicians, and the people who ARE aware of the mixing/editing that happens feel the need to remind them that the engineers that work hard to push out perfect tracks deserve a little credit too. That being said, knowing that there was overdubbing (maybe even a little melodyne!?) doesn't stop people from enjoying the song. No need to get defensive :)
Well the thought that it might be overdubbed also came to my mind, because there is absolutely no other noise to hear. But on the other hand they have studio microphones there and probably did some editing afterwards. So why shouldn't it be live?
