I'm so happy to see Jared playing my favourite pokemon game finally. I know he's spoken about doing it in the past so it was such a nice treat to finally have it 🎉
Just fyi (info from my actual doctor, not me), a compression sleeve won’t help tennis elbow (tendonitis). You need a tennis elbow STRAP. It goes on the forearm just below the elbow and takes pressure off the tendon so it can heal.
Of course Soul Silver gets super copyright claimed. Nintendo has a bizarre obsession with absolutely nuking everything involving games you can no longer purchase from them.
Likely because they realized no one gives a shit about their news games, and you can just keep replaying the old better games forever. Like hell SMB 3 and SMW are still the best mainline Mario games... what year is it now? (Ignoring SMM1/SMM2 because those are basically just an Elder Scrolls game, 100% fan made content.) A Link to the Past is still the best Zelda game. Gen 3/4 were the best Pokemon Gens. Super Metroid was still the best Metroid game and Smash and Mario Cart are basically just the EA sports titles of Nintendo. I mean arguable the best pokemon related stuff out there right now, is mods, and still like PokeMMO and PokeRogue.
@@tomwalker8944 Dude, whatever the quality of the games, the Switch is the most popular generation of Nintendo ever. Just, like, full stop. And plenty of new games are fantastic, even if the classics are still the pinnacle. There's definitely an argument to be made for BotW being the best 3D Zelda and Odyssey being the best 3D Mario (even if my favourite is still Mario 64). (Also, Link's Awakening is the best Zelda, don't @ me)
@@tomwalker8944 but part of that is _because_ the Switch is so popular. The Switch is what brought so many of those people into the market in the first place. Not all of them, sure, but many of them.
@@klop4228 I think turning 5-8 with gaming parents is what bought a lot of those people into the market. I mean my dad was an arcade gamer in the 70's who gamed in the 80's on atari/colecovision/nes. When I turned 5 he bought me my own NES. Now almost everyone plays games, and buys consoles for their kids. Mine for example got a Wii when they were little because they saw me playing my old PS2. Gaming simply when from niche, to that thing most people do. Nintendo markets more at children, so is popular with kids. I never like to compare sales with quality, because to admit that would be to admit that Britany Spears is one of the best singers of all time, or that Kid's Bop is actually good. And... yeah.
For Nuzlocke runs I watch like 3 other people for Nuzlockes and no items in battle, set mode and no levelling past next gym leader's top are all common rules used.
If you wipe, you learn for next time what to do differently. I can understand if it's toward the end of the game and you are wanting to finish. I could also see it if you're somebody who has never played this particular game and you don't know what's coming up and you don't want to sit and grind forever just to make sure you can pass whatever comes up. You do seem to have knowledge of this game.
I’m normally all for the unedited VODs, but the grinding has been painful. Really makes me wish for the FireRed montages, condensing 6 hours of grinding into about 30 seconds. The rare candies would be very welcome.
Jared isn't on the wiki because he's the only one who uses set, Jared has a rules section because he essentially did hardcore before hardcore became a thing I want to say Marriland popularized the use of the term "hardcore" with some rules tweaks, and may have been influenced by PBG's viral Minecraft hardcore run for the name. FireRed Nuzlocke is 11 years old now
15:28 I do wonder what Juan would think of your gameplay. lol 20:42 oh god Jared please don't try to rap, you're too white for that. 34:31 No, I've come to watch you suffer more nowadays; your reviews were funnier. These randomizers are here for me to enjoy someone in pain. 45:33 The fact someone found you intimidating sounds funny to me. I don't find you at all intimidating. 1:09:43 The one lesson to learn here from Pokemon Challenges, fast forwarding tends to have its consequences. lol 1:53:55 What a terrible way to die, of Slam critical of all things.
Fast forwarding had *absolutely nothing* to do with that KO dude. If that peck was going to crit, it was going to crit regardless of him being at normal speed or turbo. You can clearly see the moment the battle opened him selecting and using "scratch". What difference would be made? It was going to be what he was going to do ANYWAY. He wasn't going to switch out for a different Pokemon. I honestly love all the absolute normies going on about the turbo button in chat to cope. It didn't have jack to do with that situation. He got a crit on a stab move on a Pokemon that wasn't even at maximum health. That's the only fact there. Fast forwarding only made him see it happen faster than normal. That's it.
I wish I was more of a fan of Nuzlocke challenges. I might have to try a "Nuzlite" challenge or something, and loosen up a rule or 2. I honestly think I wouldn't mind all the rules, except for being able to catch just the first pokemon you encounter, and instead only ONE pokemon from each area. Or maybe give yourself 3 encounters or something.
This is a randomized nuzlocke. It's not a vanilla soul silver. Can't compare you playing as a child as it's a different experience entirely. He's already had to toss multiple pokemon to the nuzlocke meaning all that experience was wasted.
I mean to be fair, you are played a pirated game, and profiting off it, AND have a sponsor, this might be the most understandable copyright claim ever. Also it's not a nuzlocke if you load on a wipe... also if you just sacrifice every interesting pokemon, it's going to be a boring run. Like why grind every mon... but your best one? Shits painful.

All hail the one true king of the random nuzlocke.
I knew something was gonna go wrong once he started using the speed up button lol
FlygonHG does a good job of balancing the technical aspects of a nuzlocke with the emotional side. Especially with the Spheal Team 6 episode.
Peak Nuzlocke content, that one is.

With an Eevee like that, I can see why he's the most feared of TR.
