Psalm 102 - Afflicted, But Full of Trust

- Psalm 102 describes Jerusalem (Zion) in a state of ruin. If this is taken as literal ruin, the psalm may have been written by those in exile who mourned over both their personal and national affliction.
Join Pastor David Guzik as he explains the psalmist's cry from the crisis, praising the LORD who builds up Zion, and the weakness of man and the strength of God.

God gave me this psalm this morning. 102:6
Early this morning as an owl 🦉 hooting at midnight 🕛 speaking about the Lord. I couldn’t sleep. My husband had been up all night ill with acid reflux. We were talking about God and as we spoke of God the owl 🦉 Hoots. My husband has been very ill. I’ve been praying 🙏🏻 healing. ❤️🩹 I am praying for God’s mercy on him.
I am overjoyed by the spiritual growth and faith of a man who did not have the advantage of literature and exposition of Holy Scripture, it is astounding the reach that the writer of this Psalm, Praise God, may HE in his infinite wisdom Ble

What a wonderful message to receive. Thank you for sharing this - and for your kind words and support. All glory to Him who saves!
God gave me this psalm today as I jnterceded for children being rescued from trafficking in Nh. I wept and cried out to God.
Thanks!
Very kind and generous of you, thank you for your generosity and for supporting this ministry! May God bless you and yours.
On Sunday morning I preached Exodus 3:1-10. One of my subpoints was how the burning bush symbolizes the Church. Both are AFFLICTED, yet not consumed, because God is within. Also, God called Moses to his mission from the bush, just as God calls each of us to our mission from within the church (Acts 13:1-4).
Amen Sara parlour wali amen victory amen mercy dmrb
Even in my trials and tribulations, I know with certainty that he is bigger than all of them.
Amen and hallelujah!
I certainly will benefit from this message but I also found a long lost classmate who will benefit greatly from it. Thanks to you and our Lord.
Excellent study. Thank you!

Good summary. Seems appropriate that Psalm 103 might follow 102, preaching truth to self to 'bless the Lord oh my Soul' to lift ones crushed spirit.. As you say, Psalm 102 is also used as an argument the Jesus is greater than the angels in Hebrews.
