Marriott Ocean Club, Sosua, Dominican Republic

An amazing dinner with my good friend, Franziska, at the Marriott Ocean Club Restaurant. (Sosua, Dominican Republic). Come along as I take you on a walking tour around the beautiful grounds, down to the spa, out to the pier/harbor area, back to the infinity pool and hotel, and finally sitting down at the restaurant to eat. Wonderful food indeed: cheese and toasted bread with choice of toppings for starters, followed by dinner consisting of beef with potatoes and onions for Franziska, and grilled dorado fillet on a bed of veggies for me. Finally, capping it off with night stroll around the hotel campus. A fitting end to a fantastic trip. Thanks Franziska for everything. A very special place.

Wow! That place look wonderful. Dinner looked awesome and you can’t beat that sunset. Resorts are moving into Sosua.

Thanks GinPad...yes there are 2 other resorts on either side of Ocean Club - Casa Marina and Infinity Blu and Ocean Village just a little ways up the road....sunset was incredible with those 'sun streaks' after the sun went below the horizon....a great setting.....thanks for watching and commenting

It really is JS!...fantastic views and you can tell the parent company - Marriott International - spent A LOT of money developing this luxury property....we were fortunate to be treated to that wonderful sunset courtesy of Mother Nature on top of the man-made beauty of the surrounding grounds.....thanks for watching and commenting.....

Yes Gerhard!...She is a wonderful, but I don't need to tell you that as I am sure you know.😀......yes we had a grand time....she was instrumental in helping to get my meds down to DR...a show of thanks was warranted....very happy to know you, her, and all the Bulla family ✌

Do you have to be a guest in order to enjoy the spa or restaurant?

Thanks JS!....A great question....I think the answer is 'no' as neither Franziska nor I were guests and Franziska went for a spa the day before we had dinner. However, best to call/email Ocean Club to verify just to be sure. Franziska knows people who work at the resort and I do not know if she may have been granted special permission.

This is the second time in 2 weeks I've seen a video at the Marriott. Doesn't look like they get a lot of business. Wonder how they stay in business??

Yes DA...it was not very busy, but we were there early for dinner, so perhaps that was the case as tables did fill up later in the evening.....how are you doing? Are you still planning to head down there or are you already in DR...?

@@GaryGozo Still in the US. Actually preparing to do a CT scan in a few minutes. Some GI and/or hernia issues. As soon as everything calms down I'll be there. No later than September. That's my birthday and I always try to be there for my birthday. Take care and stay safe.

Right TM!...I tried to return the day after dinner to take some more photos and was denied entry, so I guess unless you are a guest or have a reservation there you are not allowed just go in and walk around the property...maybe you can ask for a formal tour or something from a manager, not sure.....
