It's what happens when you're tired - you miss important things like a dropped image... but if i have a coffee so late at night I'll never sleep. If that's the most I have to worry about today, things must be OK!
Cool video. I am building a zvedza 1/72. I am not sure what decals go on the air to air missiles. It says decal #8 and its just this long list of numbers.
Sadly I can't help, I don't know what they are supposed to be (they weren't in the ICM kit) and I don't imagine the print is good enough to pick out the Cyrillic for "seeker head here" or "explosives - keep away" or whatever else they have on them...
It's part of a periscope system to give a view of the runway during approach as the rear seat crewman can't see over the front seat. In the MiG-31 the many of the flying controls are duplicated. Although normally the pilot in the front does all the flying, the weapons officer in the back could fly the plane, e.g. if the pilot is incapacitated. I guess it mans a standard aircraft can also double as a type conversion trainer with the instructor in the rear seat and the trainee in the front. Something for the aftermarket, methinks!
Because there was a dropped photo during the history section, so I put it back in and re-uploaded the video but I couldn’t just substitute it, it had to be a new post. Unless I missed something!
I’ve got one of these bad boys in my stash it’s just been moved to the top of the pile 👍🏻
Great build Gary!
Nice build Gary!
Quite an imposing beast. The type history was interesting and appreciated.
👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! The history segments are fun to do but take up so much time!
Now we get to see the whole video, LoL. I need another coffee ☕ so I don't blink this time 😁

I've never been first to leave a comment. Do I win a prize Gary? Love the build and history to go with it. Keep on modelling sir
Cheers JB! No, no prize but a slight feel of joy.

Nicely done, Gary.
A question: What is the small item directly above the pilot's canopy?

Great!
Hey Gary, why did this one come up 2 days in a row?
