Gary, thanks for the shout-out. The instrument panels look great, even in 1:72. I wasn't convinced about the pre-shading but in the end it is a nice effect on such a large bird. You wrangled with an iffy kit and came out with a nice model, the dozen assembly clamps notwithstanding. Cheers!
Looks good, like the pre shading, you have lot of patience,I do like your use of a colour that is close enough, otherwise we would have lots of part used paint pots!!😱😱
It’s looks easy to build and paint looking at you, but I know it’s not, it’s a challenging kit, so congratulations for such a nice result. I enjoyed watching. Cheers Victor
Why that fiver is about a cup of coffee ☕, good deal even if it was the undercarriage from hell. Was curious during the unboxing if that little bit of flash was a sign to come for filler issues etc. Most of all, am glad ICM clamped down on the fitment and flash issues now (😁 yeah I did). Came out alright after all.👍 Well done Gary, not sure if it wouldn't have had a test flight accident against the wall after tripping myself up on those small issues 🛫
Cheers Crazy, yes it was a bargain kit but really not too bad. But judging by the Bronco and another ICM I have in the pipeline, they have really raised their game in recent years.
Lovely job Gary, thinking the MIG designers or former soviet designers liked Gerry Anderson 😃,first episode of joe 90 he stole a MIG 242 and flew it back to manston in Kent 😊, Shame Russia is becoming a threat again in the early 80s in west London practising duck and cover if they drop the bomb hope it gets sorted ,sorry if I’ve gone off topic ,all the best mate 👍🏻😊
And it's not the MiG-31 Firefox either!!! I used to love watching Joe90, in fact pretty much all of Gerry Anderson's creations. Very tempted by the kits of Thunderbirds you can get these days...

My pleasure! First time I've got pre-shading about right, needs a delicate touch.

Using dark gray for the shading worked great! Nice workaround for the spindly main gear, too -- glue and a prayer.
Blind faith and the triumph of hope over experience has very much been my modelling journey over the years...!
Nice build Gary. A lot of fidely parts and a lot of filling and sanding. Thanks for sharing. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Thanks Peter - yes, a bit more involved than planned!
Well done Gary - that looked very testing - good end result
Many thanks Christopher!
Well done Gary.Nice job on a tricky kit. But it makes a good looking model.
Now it makes me want to build a MiG-25 as well though...
Silk purse from a sows ear, that one, Gary!
But a great result.
Nice one!
Thanks 👍

Thanks Jim. I mean, when you've got a closed canopy that is so small, worrying about an exact shade seems a little odd, right?
Nice! Even at 1:72nd scale it's a pretty big kit! ...came out very well Gary!
Thanks Daniel!
Another fine job Gary. Did you need to put any weight in the pointy end to stop tail-sitting?
Great question, I also meant to ask that. My I.V. must be running low on coffee ☕ beans.
Thanks Michael. No, no nose weight needed. The gear wheels are set quite far back.

Thanks Victor! Most of it is easy enough - it's just the fit that can be a challenge and the main undercarriage is, well, interesting.
Like you, it's a good looking brute! I loved seeing this, as I have this one in my stash.
Cheers Wayne ... I think!
