    Thanks so much. You saved me $300 as the tech who came to do diagnostic check told me that the drain pump needs to be replaced. I did not believe him and once he left, I googled and found your video that made be believe that locating and replacing a drain pump is so easy. I didn't have to replace it at all. When I opened it, I found a date seed in it. I removed it and OE error was gone and dishwasher started working in no time. Thanks once again!
    BTW, you don't have to remove the hose and pipe or disconnect the cables if you can switch off from the main circuit breaker and your hose is long enough to bring the dishwasher out.

    Thank you! A glass cup broke and 1 decent sized piece was missing. The next wash the dishes washer wouldn't drain so we went digging and this video helped us find and disconnect the drain pump. Immediately the glass piece fell out upon removal and everything works properly now that it's all together again

    The drain pump stopped working on my Samsung DW80J3020US. Using this video I removed the drain pump and surprise! Out popped a circular black piece of rubber. Turns out the check valve broke off and became jammed in the pump. That's one thing fixed! Excellent video. Now to watch "Samsung Dishwasher Check Valve Replacement".

    Instead of replacing mine I bought some plumbers grease and put it around the seal. Did the same for the turbidity seal.

    why do you have to disconnect the wires if you're already turning off the dishwasher in the breaker?

      @608midshipcool 2 года назад +1

      to uninstall it, sometimes the wires are tight and you cant pull the machine out

    When connecting the wires to the new drain pump terminals, does it matter which wire is connected to which terminal?

    • @christophermiller2075
      @christophermiller2075 2 года назад

      Honestly I doubt it matters much cuz it’s AC current, although sometimes things are designed to be polarized for general safety so the entire item isn’t electrified when not in use (think of old lamps, if you plugged them in one way they’d have electricity running through the bulb and everything and then the connection is broken at the switch, which meant you could stick your finger in the lightbulb socket and get shocked even when it’s turned of…now they make the plugs where they’ll only plug into the wall in one direction, so that the only hot wire when the lamp is off goes to the switch and stops there)
      Basically, I’d put the wires back on the way it looks in the video, but if you already finished and did it backwards I wouldn’t pull everything apart again just to swap them back 👍

    Mine is not accessible. See to be a little different in the bottom panel

    Unfortunately my DW80R5060US model has the whole assembly rotated so that the pump is inaccessible through the removable panel. I suppose I will have to disassemble the entire base to reach it.

    This annoys me so much. To replace this pump, you have to:
    Turn off power and water. Unhook water, power, and drain lines, mounting brackets. Slide the machine out of the wall. Rip onto face. Remove bottom plastic panel.
    Now you can access the drain pump. It’s got trick connectors, that look normal, but are actually locking connectors. Then you find the hidden locking tab to rotate the drain motor off. Now you can check for obstruction, vacuum the drain line, feel the motor for issues.
    Who designed this freaking washer?
    On a kenmore, you remove the two screws to the toe panel and you’ve now got access to the drain motor.

      Depending on the model. Kenmore has some crappy designs also.

      Don't blame the designers, blame the bean counters and the consumers. Consumers won't pay more for easy to service so if it saves a $2 in manufacturing that what's they will do. Actually not that bad for something that may need service once in the appliance's lifetime.
