- Reaction To Partaj - Jarmo (Swedish Satire)
This is my reaction to Partaj - Jarmo (Swedish Satire)
In this video I react to Swedish satire (from Swedish comedy vehicle Partaj) of a Finnish commercial and this is called Jarmo
#sweden #comedy #reaction
Original Video - • Partaj - Jarmo
This is a spoof of Finnish actor Jarmo Mäkinen who made commercials with K-Rauta (think Home Depot) for Sweden. They were on tv aaaall the time for years.
The character is based on a, back then, long-running series of commercials by the finnish hardware store K-rauta here in Sweden, and Jarmo is the name of the actor in the commercials.
Example in the end. Unfortunately no subtitles.
As born in Finland, living in Sweden; this is funny as hell😅 The actor is Johan Pettersson btw.
I am from Sweden and I just wanted to say that this is no stereotypes this is reality
I'm from Finland and I agree.
I am Swedish but my mother and all of my grandparents are/were Finnish.
And yes, most of my grandparents were drunks, and my paternal grandfather was insanely strong.
I don't know if these "stereotypes" are still true with the latest genration[s], but they sure seems to be true for finns born in the early or mid 1900s.
I don't quite agree that Swedes are pussies, though, especially in the north.
@@antiHUMANDesigns Aren't you half finnish or more then?
@@zekevarg3043 "Genetically", I'm 100% Finnish, but I've only ever lived in Sweden, and my father was also born in Sweden.
I can't speak essentially a word of Finnish, or anything like that.
@@antiHUMANDesignsThe Northlanders are tougher specifically because of their Finnish blood.
both Swedish and Finnish.... i freaking LOVE Jarmo :) the stereotypes are fantastic and hilarious and certainly have a grain of truth to them
Me too I agree totally🤣
The last one was the original one. K Rauta is shop for mostly builders.
The biggest DIY store chain in Finland.
This is pure gold.
Im a swede with a finnish grandmother and I also used to work with alot of finns.
These slaps back and forth is just that and no one take offense .. at least it used to be like that.
Thank you Mert!
I have never seen this one. It's a lot of fun. The Finns are a nice people.
Warm greetings from a Swede. Lämpimät terveiset ruotsalaiselta..
I love this one, cause I love Nordic banter. It's a parody of a real commerical (oh they showed it at the end, I love that one too). Partaj is pronounced like partai (with a weak R), we don't have that J sound for J, slang for party.
He's a really famous comedy actor, done a lot of kid shows.
He was also in a movie called Kommissarie Späck. It's like a satire of multiple Swedish crime movies
Thanks for this one... Haven't seen this parody series of the commercial series from K Rauta for a long time now!! Johan Petersson who play Jarmo is another great Swedish comedian.
The finnish accent is hilarious and just amazing itself, especially finn-swedish.
By the way, the guy is Johan Pettersson. I mostly remember him from "Hem till midgård" and kids show "Dr.Mugg" as Kapten Filling
@@chrippao1720sadly i am so old that i remember him from disneydags with Eva Röse and Alice Baah :(
@@chrippao1720 He also made a spinn-off after Partaj called "Café Bärs" (bärs=swedish slang word for beer) together with 3 other actors. They made fun of swedish football supporters with some heavy old school Stockholm accents.
@@Lithanell haha, same here, I'm so old so I even forgot where I remembered him from :D
Pretty close to the reality. Very strong, good and drunk people. I love them. Greetings from Jonas Gothenburg Sweden. Ps. Keep reacting!
Swede here, can confirm alot of the stereotypes. However Finns are in general great people, good neighbours of us. They suck at Hockey though ;)
To their defense, Yes, they do, but Not as much as Canada... ;-) Ha ha
This describes the different between Swedish mentality and the Finnish sisu. But in an extreem way.
As a finn seeing this first time today I must say I love it! :D
Yes Jarmo is a Finish actor living in Sweden 🇸🇪 this was a parodi off him haha 😂
I hope you got it with the comments below. And originally we had a program in 1969 that was named "Partaj" (Partytime) and it was broadcasted in friday evenings with our most beloved swedish actors, before they went to the "Red Room" at Berns Restuarant.
This show was sent on the only channel we had back then, and the crew around Johan Petersson that made "Partaj" again is remarkeble, and they really made a tribute to the older version. I really admire them for that contribution. /Magnus
Please react to Poesi för fiskars “De arbetslösa”. I think you would really enjoy it, its comedic social commentary in a short cinematic format. All of, Poesi för fiskars, content is pure gold, real high quality stuff.
Agreed and follow up with their earlier production, "Vaskduellen" - The Wasting Battle. He´d like the end with the english and scots lol
As a Swede I love Jarmo 👍❤
He is the man I wish I was.
The last one was the real commercial for the hardware store K-Rauta. The other ones were parodies on the real commercial.
That last one is a real commercial by the real Jarmo, for the company K-Rauta 😜
The last one is the Real Jarmo 😂
Johan Petersson does a very good parody of Zlatan in the Partaj (party) show that is worth watching.
This😂❤
Idk if most of Partaj's comedy will be that funny for someone who hasn't lived in Sweden. A lot of it is making fun of our celebrities, royal family etc. Tbf, it was a long time ago I saw any of it, and they had a lot of other skits about life in general, but those are the ones I remember the most.
Half of my family is from Finland so I can say that there were a lot of adrenaline junkies with PTSD and alcohol problems in Finland but in reality I had a good childhood
The last one was the real commercial. and all the other before that was the parody of the Finnish hardware store commercials for "K-Rauta"
We Swedes love our Finnish brothers and sisters. That's why we can make fun of our differences. And I believe that feeling is mutual. Same with the Norwegians and our arch enemy, the Danes!!! (danskjävlar)
Wait, isn't that the actor who played the Umpa Lumpas in the version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp? 🤯
it would be nice to see like these jokes , in which Swedish bros make same about yourselves. We really can be ironic for ourselves, make hard jokes ourselves but at the same time are proud of who we are. I am reeky waiting same kind of jokes about you or are they all hej hjalle hjalle raa. And...most of educated people understand Swedish totally well. So this is a great benefit from history
I As a half Finnish half Swedish, Jarmos anger matches both mine and my fully Finnish father. I have never seen him hold hands, never seen him kiss or be lovable with his wife and I have never seen him cry either, not even when his mother, my grandmother, died :') It's really genetics, Finnish people are VERY fucking macho, but also very shy, well, many Finns are not shy at all, but overall.
A part of the joke is the parody of the Finnish home improvement stores such as K-Rauta and their commericals. There is also a pun in the tag, "det rätta virket" (the right stuff) literally translates to "the right wood", because home improvement.
This is The Partaj program making jokes Bout the real K-Rauta commercial videos we had in Sweden.. The last videoclip is the Original Jarmo. The man in all the other videos are making fun of Jarmos commersial Krauta and its Hilarious.... Im Half Swedish half Finnish. I must watch this again.. Its soo fun, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Denmark and Norway are like Sweden, Scandinavians and a little like siblings. Finns are different. The love and hate thing that exists between Swedes and Finns is unique. However, the differences disappear when it comes to holidays abroad and in war. We stand united against any enemy!
For context, Sweden and Finland share a very long history together. Finland was a part of the Swedish Kingdom for over 700 years. We have completely different languages however, so this "Jarmo" character speaks Swedish with a stereotypical Finnish accent, which sounds hilarious to Swedes.
So it is just friendly banter with a lot of Finnish stereotypes thrown in, the main points being that from the Swedish perspective, all Finns are drunks and likes knives, while from a Finnish perspective, Swedes are weaklings who are a bit too concerned with what others think of them.
The funny thing about this hard boiled character, is that the Finnish hardware store, had to make the character and the commercial in a softer way.
Johan Pettersson is the actor
He does Zlatan too which is hillarious
And the angry construction worker
”Arga snickaren”
All from partaj
Hes also a part of a super funny cult status show called
Hem till Midgård
Home to midgard 😂❤
Partaj was a SNL-ish sketch show (except not live). With atleast two spin-offs. (Both led by characters played by that actor, as he was very much the ”main male actor”.) And yeah, while there was some compeltely original sketches most of them were parodies of shows/politicans/celebrities/etc.
As a Swede, there's some truth to this, especially when it comes to defence policy and respective militaries. 😂
I believe this stereotype comes from when many fins would come to Sweden to work in the industries. Those were working class dudes and some of them were probably just like Jarmo.
Let's just say that, if there would have been Jarmo against Eastwood instead of Swede, maybe this wouldn't have happened: "Heartbreak Ridge - Sgt. Highway vs 'Swede' Johanson (1986)". Jarmo Mäkinen is a Finnish actor, who has often done bad guy roles, and also done them in Sweden: "Jarmo Mäkinen - showreel".
Just think wake up hangover: you have a finnish friend: they all scream: we going to drink or we going to drink, its lovely ppl.
Aldrig sett den förr.... bra skit
Well - just in case, to clarify the 'situation': the guy you saw last was the original guy in the original commercial (with the same....erhm, first name? It's just too late at night for me..), on which the character in this comedy was based! (Well, which they of course, and as usual took, erhm 'a bit' further - while at the same time making fun of the stereotype of...or well, sterotypeS of both Finnish and Swedish guys really!).
I just love this 'character' - as does many of my friends with Finnish ancestry by the way! I hope that helped.
Cheers from Sweden.
Have you seen the Scottish-Swedish artist Dr MacDoo... two music videos on youtube, supposedly shot in Malaysia.
Johan Petersson is so funny. He is in the last season of Swedish Taskmaster (Bäst i test). I love him 😂😂😂
oh my god i haven't thought about these in like ten years
Vaskduellen would be good one to react to, if it's available with subs
Partaj (party) is pronounced more like partay. With a very soft, almost nonexistent r.
J in Swedish is often pronounced like Y is in Eng.
And Jarmo is a Finnish name and the character speaks Swedish with a heavy Finnish accent.
If you want to see more with him I think you should look up ”Hem till Midgård” (Home to Midgard, or back to Midgard might be a better translation) his character there is quite different from this one, I don’t know if they have English subs though
"Full like a kastrull" is funny, but it might be difficult to understand for a foreigner
It ends with "beställ en Finne av det äkta virket", meaning "order a Finn of the right standard/ right wood", and was commercial from K- rauta that sells wood/planks.
Funny 😂😂 the actor is swedish Johan Pettersson 💯🥳🥳
Mert do you read the comments?
You should watch Herr Talman, its a comedy series about Swedish politcs from the 2022 election
React to the movie Jägarna (1996). It has some real life inspirations and captures the northern attitude somewhat. There actually are finns in Sweden since way back, the kven people.
Sweden and Finland was the same country. It all breaks when you gotta explain it.
The last one is Jarmo Mänkinen, the real Jarmo.
The other is Johan Pettersson, who made parady by Jarmo.
Check out "Cafe bärs" "hem till midgård" for more by Johan Pettersson
K-rauta are closing their stores all over Sweden.
If its unclear 7:35 is the real Jarmo :)
You can se Jarmo as a Scott.
I think the Finnish in mentality are closer to Russians than Swedes, except people in Norrland (North Sweden) might be a little bit more like the Finns and Russians.
Watch Hjälp - Örjan Lax Säsong 1 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is related to the Finnish stereotypical view of Sweden as shown in this clip ruclips.net/video/pw3e64sosEg/видео.htmlsi=Xh9t5QlnBHEnJ6Uq
This is from a Finnish comedy show. Sweden was neutral during ww2 while Finland took a very hard stance against the Germans. (The neutrality meant that Sweden allowed Germans to use the swedish rail network to transport troops to Norway for example. Not very popular in Norway uou can imagine.)
We Swedes loves our brothers in scandinavia, we competing and making fun of eatchothet but if someone else fk with our brothers then its war 😊😅
*in the Nordic
@@Nekotaku_TV You mean Denmark? Unlike Finland, Denmark is actually outside Scandinavia (after they lost Skåne in the mid 1600s).

@@DIProgan Whosh...
yes this is typical sterotypes and somewhat true aswell... finland makes fun of sweden to be to friendly, weak, clean looking while sweden makes fun of finland beeing rough, tough, shots vodka all the time, 170 degree saunas, hardworking and norway saying is that they are stupid, talking jibbirish allt the time, and have alot of money... all of is just ironic sayings with brotherly love. The real fight is competetivly in sports.
Alltså... Kan broderskapet mellan Finland och Sverige uttryckas bättre? Vi förstår (klokt) varandra, och försvarar varandra. Så bra.
Parody-Jarmo (everything but the real advert at the end) Is not really wrong in anything he says. Just exaggerated 😂
What about MARRMOR?
Old Partaj fron 1969 is more fun to watch ^^
Would recommend "Bragden i berlin"
Yes its thetypical fin, no joke. I have 100% finish friends, swedes to eeak. Im swedish
I’m moving to Finland!
I moved from Sweden 5 years ago to Finland. One reason was: Got tired of all shit imigrants there.
Finland was part of Sweden for 700 years, until Sweden lost it to Russia in the war of 1809…
War of 1808...
It did continue to 1809 but by then all the fighting was in Sweden proper. Also the peace was made in 1808 and the annexation of Finland was made official.
the letter J is pronounced in Swedish as you pronounce y.
All the jokes aside, I think this is how most Finns living in Finland see their more civilized big brother... ;)
If you like the nordics mocking each other you should look up the Partaj skit called SVT Danmark 😂
Jarmo ❤😂
Eyy You Most see the café berrs. The actor in this one is in that too soo funny
Watch Magnus Bertner! He is a controversial comedian that says what we are think but dosen't want to confess we do and smash prejudice
Partaj = Party
Great "self irony", him speaking Swedish with Finnish intonation. (But it`s too much of the same theme.)
You should watch an episode of ”Karatefylla” instead 😊👍
😂😂
It seems right about the part about sex. Never heard anything about this before.
yes the real Jarmo is in the end.. A finnish famous actor. the fake Jarmo is swedish. This clips is just 1 procent of all.
Is it a fair representation of Finnish men? Maybe not. But is it a a fair representation of the Finnish man stereotye? Yeah probably. :)
😂
Finnish are considered better than Swedes by Swedes, not just cause they scared Russia into submission, they are cut from a harder cloth.(i think maybe stone/iron or diamond/unabtanium)
Best thing this actor ever did was Runar Tvålfager in Hem till Midgård. A viking comedy show from the 90s
Saaatana perkelaaaaaa
I am sad that the subtitles doesn't exaclty convey the negative tone of SVENNE! (aka the S-word)
Jag. Säger 4-5 till 6-5, du som vet vet
Partaj changes Party
Btw, Partaj is problunced ”Partai”
Its commin sence that finnish man are harder then Swedish in one way.
Finnish people learn kids in different way then sweden and are more harder on their culture...
Partaj is partay
Try Dr mugg with Markolio and this actor a children program
