      Thanks, John. Very kind of you for the welcome. I will have more vids soon, however, working a full time job does make things a little slow!

    Hi Liam, just found your channel, very interesting. I like the photo at 10:40 very much, the light is outstanding!
    Good luck for youtube, I'll try to post more regularly in the next year.

    I use a Canon 1Dx and it works great! The eyes is what makes great photos! People make mistakes thinking the camera makes the great photos!

      That’s great! It’s still a great camera. As long as you can capture the moment and experience it with your eyes

    Hi from the Highlands. Watched your videos you took up this way and not only impressed with your work but also i nodded along with all the same issues I have too. Like the self imposed pressure we put ourselves on when we go out, with anything but a wall-filling landscape picture being a failure!

      I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed! I think many people struggles with the same things but you never really hear much about some of them on RUclips. I’m in Oban until next year in august so I’ll be hanging around!

      @@LiamGalashan Nice, I like Oban. I was up at Torridon and Wester Ross at the weekend and got a few nice shots but I live in "Big Tree Country" Perthshire (epic forest and woodland material here!). I always liked the idea of doing what you do with the vlogging side of photography but I wouldn't be as good. I'll stick to the photos!

      @@typhoon-7 I plan to go to Torridon in the future when the snow drops but it’s a fair drive to get there even from Oban! I always fancied the idea of vlogging but never thought I’d be any good, nor do I think I am good at the moment but I decided to just let it happen!

    Hi Liam another great watch. Regarding a new tripod head have you considered a geared head? They're bulky and heavier than a ball head but for me it's a game changer especially when using the longer lens which I see you do. I have the Benro geared head (can't remember the name but there's only one available from benro) K&f have just released one but it's more expensive than the Benro version. Geared heads are fantastic for fine tuning your composition. I certainly wouldn't go back to a ball head

    • @LiamGalashan
      @LiamGalashan  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Paul. I’ve just followed your chain of comments. A geared head sounds good. Not used one before but I would think they would be quite heavy? Does Simon Baxter (if you follow him) use one too? I’ve looked at Benro tripods and it could well be my next one. I do use a K+F tripod as they are extremely good value, however, it is starting to become a little annoying

      @tuftyhill 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@LiamGalashan Simon uses a very expensive geared head with extreme fine tuning but he is a pro 😁 I have the Benro carbon fibre tripod plus the head and it's a fantastic combination but may not be for everyone. It's definitely worth considering. I know a lot of landscape photographers that have switched. It's not a cheap set up but is high quality and should be reliable for a good number of years. It was my first twist lock leg tripod after using manfrotto for years with their clamps but I much prefer the twist lock now 😁

      @LiamGalashan  10 месяцев назад

      @@tuftyhill that’s brill. I’ll look into it more in the future. It does sound very tempting. I’ll have to do more research. Any particular geared heads to consider?
