      Wont really work if you go right to the bottom. Mint needs a lot of water and I cant see that water gettng to the bottom is going to be enough to keep it wet, and it might start leaking at the bottom holes if too much water hits at the bottom. I grow my mints (2 types) in food grade foam containers without any holes for the water to escape.

      Even I am feeling the video is kind of tricky, because once you cut the leaves of mint it will not grow leaves from same place, it may grow branch from that spot but not the leaves, and this video show that it grew leaves from the same spot from where it was removed.

      Yeah. My pawpaw and mawmaw have some that natural came up in their creek. I have no idea how they grow in sand, but I guess the roots go all the way through the sand to the dirt beneath the layer of sand. But no matter how many times they cut it down, it keeps coming back every year. And it covers the entire creek bed so we can't even see if there's any snakes hiding. But I'm gonna get a liter bottle and try this with some of the mint from the creek

    I’d reverse the operation. Cut bottom off the bottle. Create holes on the sides the same as video. Create hole in bottle cap. Hang the bottle upside-down, fill with soil and cuttings. Water from the large opening, which is the bottom of the bottle but which is now at the top, and excess water will drip up out of hole in bottle cap.

    Mints are suffering from dehidration...
    Give'em saline😂

  • @khzvaleriesmith6428

    i like that youve made a free self watering hanging pot,that could be done with any size bottle. there are a huge variety of mints and ive got a cat lovers idea im going to try . plant catnip cuttings in this and kitty can not eat that plant to death. i also lireally like the way it looks.

    It was innovative and use of plastic bottles. But the water flow bottle gave me the feeling of hospital, as saline drops through iv.

    I have never seen such a complicated way of growing mint

    • @MarjiClawson
      @MarjiClawson 3 года назад +2

      I know. It's almost a joke. Mint is so evasive, just lay a stem on the ground and lay a little rock on it and it will grow and grow and keep growing. Lots of tea, However 2 days? Why the need to lie?
