    This is the best, most informative video on growing hangingnstrawberries I've seen yet! And, I love how you can repurpose the soda bottles into something DO CLEVER and beautiful! I would have thought they needed more water than that. Might be why my leaves are yellow. I'm loving them to death. 😅 That wicking system is ingenius!

Muchas gracias!

      El video es falso, las frutas fueron insertadas para que pareciera que son de esa planta, es muy obio ya que el tallo del que cuelgan las fresas esta marchitandose junto con sus hojas y curioso que la lamina del fonto tenga la misma marca de agua de cuando estaba floreciendo.

    brilliant! thank you, you gave me an idea to create a growing system, but without using potting soil. I will try with the bottles I have at home to create a vertical drip hydroponic system. I think this system with bottles is good for the planet and for learning how to produce your own amount of food.
    To tie the bottles you can also not use the commercial ties, the bottles can be cut into thin strips to use as ropes or braided together.

    • @BalconyGardenIdeas
      @BalconyGardenIdeas  Год назад +1

      Yes. Thank you very much. ❤️❤️❤️

    • @spuds6423
      @spuds6423 Год назад +2

      One problem with that. The strips can easily degrade in sunlight and under stress which could have your hard work and project on the ground. In certain countries, they are incorporating "biodegradable" plastics in containers ( the idea is that they will break down "quicker" in a landfill). Stick with hemp rope or similar if you are that environmentally concerned.

    • @virtualprisoner
      @virtualprisoner Год назад +10

      @@spuds6423 There are actually three ways to make strands of plastic bottles much stronger: 1) cut them about 1 cm thicker (but they still risk warping in the sun) 2) braid them 3) twist them with a heat source from a simple candle or heat gun.
      If you are interested in seeing how to make other useful things with plastic bottles as well, I recommend exploring the "plastic bottle cutter" channel, just using bottles as he does, even if not for gardening, can still help the planet a lot in reducing waste.

    딸기는 저온작물이라 한국에선 겨울잠을 자야 다음해야 열매가 맺습니다.
    한국에선 딸기 줄기번식으로 농사를 짓습니다.
    양분의 거름을 많이 줘야 대단한 딸기를 얻을 수 있답니다.

    Growing strawberries from seed is quite challenging. It took about a month for a FEW of the many seeds to germinate. Then at least half the seedlings died. I must admit two big advantages. Firstly i could regrow the best tasting strawberries. Secondly those plants which did make it were very healthy and strong.
    If you're nor a patient, persistent person buy seedlings!
    I would also suggest you make the hole in which to plant the strawberry smaller so give the roots more room. Paint the bottle firstly with a layer of black then a layer of white paint to keep out the light and to keep the root coolest. An eastern exposure is best.

    Gostei muito da ideia, reciclar as garrafas e fazer um jardim lindo! Mas eu tenho algumas perguntas: tem que ficar na sombra? O que acontece depois de colher os morangos, continua com as mesmas mudas ou planta de novo? Tem alguma dica pra tampar os depósitos de água em cima, pra não proliferar pernilongos? Parabéns pelo vídeo!

    Que legal, para ajudar os morangos produzem só de um lado para ficar melhor para a foto (vou fingir que vi as folhas murchas no morango indicando que faz tempo que foram colhidos). Queria acreditar que produzir fosse fácil assim

    looks amazing, are birds a problem? how do you deal with them?

    • @Nopaants
      @Nopaants 8 месяцев назад

      Personally for me, I don’t have any problem with birds because of my cat. The garden doesn’t have a rabbit problem either. Nor are the squirrels messing everything up. The dog has the front gate and perimeter. Utility pets all the way. I was going to introduce snakes to get the moles and gophers but nature beat me to it. The snakes showed up on their own.
