How I got my FIRST Creator Points (and how you can too)

- Welcome to my first real video! In this video, I be talking about the process I used to get my first creator point, and how you can do it too.
Remember, never spam people who don't want to be spammed. Mods have lives outside of Geometry Dash, and they do they're jobs for fun. Also, I am not a big creator, so there may be some stuff that doesn't work.
Remember to have fun creating! Don't rush out levels just for Creator Points:)

The best advice for creating in gd is probably: dont create for creator points, create for fun and for the community :D, creator points are just a number, and even if your levels dont get a lot of attwntion, as long as you are proud and willing to keep at it, then you’ll have a good creating future ahead of you

The problem with this is that the only reason I want to build a good level is because I want a creator point, nothing else. Like I don't have plans of making a lot of good levels, I just want to make 1 level that is rate worthy and I will be happy (if it will get rated that is). I truly enjoy building only old fashioned levels, stupidly hard challenges, impossible levels and some decent-ish layouts with songs I like, that's it.
@@bloodreptilyeah honestly wanting to make a generic level for the achievement of getting a creator point is fine. It’s really only an issue when people spam levels that aren’t enjoyable even when they have 50+ cp. For me, now that I have a couple of points, I’m trying to be more ambitious with what I make:)
i had revelation a couple years ago that creator points don’t really matter and that i should build for myself. literally the next morning i got my first creator points lol
Two tips that I can give if you want your first creator point:
1. Try to get your level out there as much as possible. Send it in as many level request servers and streams as possible, and ask as many people for feedback as possible. But don't harass people over it!
2. Build the best gameplay that you can. While some people are only going to judge your levels by the first impression they get from deco, Robtop tends to go easier on your deco if he sees your gameplay is good. Also, no matter how pretty your level is, generally speaking levels with bad gameplay get lower rates.
I only have 1 rated level, a feature. I sent it to every mod server I could, I got some feedback on it, and I updated the level. In the end, I got really lucky and got it rated after 1 send. While the level has meh decoration, I think the reason it got a feature is because I made good gameplay, and almost every comment on the level is about how it has good gameplay.

Robtop is probably gonna stop rating those unless they're unique since it's like the modern version of NC

Solid video and tips. 1:12 I would recommend doing this on discord or something because discord allows you to send a lot more text than GD does. You can also send screenshots, links, and vids. You also don't need to friend someone on discord in order to talk to them most of the time.
this is one of those tutorials that isn't so formulaic and generic, and as someone with almost 50 cp i can say i agree with what you said. good video

Well, that's good! Honestly, my levels got sent by 3-4 mods and no rate. And the recent level I built got 16 sends and still no rate.
But, somehow, I got into megacollabs by paying me to do so. And rn I got over CP since it made me depressed and miserable.

I just want to say thanks for encouraging me to get out there and make some friends; I got really lucky and I've befriended imkalium (a member of Steel Squad who's collaborated with alkali) and J735 (creator of Deepvine Pass) - I'm currently creating a level with Kalium

This guy is the definition of underrated
getting your levels out there is sort of similar to getting yourself out there in the music industry just easier, you need CONNECTIONS
by having real actual friends in the community, be friends with their friends and so on, KNOW people, TALK to people and be genuine - i have 5+ friends who are directly friends with mods which has helped me with pretty much all the creator points i have (hychie my beloved)
the more high quality levels you post, the higher chances your level gets out there, so just enjoy what you're building and take inspiration from other rated levels you enjoy (without copying/stealing/""recreating"" assets
however, please note that your level not getting attention or not getting a rate has NOTHING to do with its value, similarly to how plenty of underground music artists, street performers, speedrunners in other games, etc etc are underrated and not well known but still high quality/good

Some of tips i recommend:
send a lot of your levels to mods, and see what they say... and just to say, on my level I kind of got a bit of hate, just ignore it, the feeling for getting rated is too high to be weighed down by hate comments, use the advice form hate, and good to form your next new level, and have fun!!

Im trying to learn how to get my 2nd set... as in my situation I made a crap list demon that somehow got featured... but now I've made significantly better levels after but none have been rated over the past year 🥶

I started 2 days ago with creating my first level where I am actually trying to get atleast a star rate (for the achievement), and if it doesn't get rated, It doesn't matter that much, because just over the past 2 days, I gained so much editor experience
if you get atleast 10 creator points, there's a high chance your level will be rated if you put effort in it because this is not 2.1 where layouts are rated (im thinking of conical depression)

I tried to get a rate on a level I made but gave up since I no longer knew anyone to ask for advice, and I felt like it was just not rate worthy after all

i am like suffering from invisibility. only recently i had my first level reach 350+ downloads rlly fast, but the level that has ~350, was uploaded a year ago, and people just kinda find it.
but when i uploaded the level (which now has 1k downloads, my most downloads so far) for the first 1-4 hours it was unnoticed, then it somehow got in the magic tab??? (idk what the magic tab means, if someone could tell me that would be awesome) which boosted it up to ~600 downloads, and kept climbing until now which it is at 1k. i have no idea how my next level is gonna go, but im hoping it goes really well like this one.

What is the least lvl length to get rated?
Usually Long, sometimes medium (so like 60s). I wouldn’t recommend trying to get to a certain length, because it usually leads to rushing towards the end. Try not to end a level right before the drop or in the middle of a section, because it may come off as less effort.

Depends. If it’s fun, syncs well and has good decoration, then it might have a chance.
