If you see the gun Golden Sam, TAKE IT. It's got TONS of damage even at low levels, and it shoots faster the longer you hold it. Great gun, it was only 40 coins in a store and you passed it up.
This is basically a guide on the purple and red meters and the most optimal way to get to Ares room. If you wanted to get to Ares rooms with the least damage taken as possible I recommend that you start the purple meter as soon as you can and if you believe that you can fill up the meter in the current level leave at least one purple crystal/purple chest/purple shop door (it's always purple unless damaged) behind until your purple meter reaches 90% and when that happens go back to that purple crystal, door or chest, damage it then touch it and if you're lucky you would've opened Ares room by getting damaged intentionally only once. Starting the red meter early would mean that you'll need to get hit each time to progress it and switching back to a purple meter will result in losing 50% of the current meter progress while switching from purple to red has no effect other than now you need to get hit to fill it up instead of avoiding getting hit or using crystals on purple crystals, doors or chests. You would rarely find red chests in some room that weren't converted by damaging them, if you want to open it don't rush into opening it, first get the purple meter to about 90% so that opening it would be the first and last hit you need to fill up the red meter and if you cleared all rooms before reaching about 90% progress on the purple meter then decide if you wanted to collect or skip it and go to the next floor. Once you unlock Ares or Athena's room I recommend that you stop advancing and backtrack to the nearest teleporter (If the next room is a room with a teleporter then you don't need to backtrack you can just go to it and teleport from there) to immediately go to their room first because you may be able to start the purple meter again and having as much uncleared rooms as possible would make it easier to fill the meter. If you entered a room that has a crystal and you don't want it to turn into a red crystal run towards it immediately without shooting and collect it as fast as possible as to not risk it getting hit unless you want it to get hit.

After you unlock cursed bosses the way you reach Ares and Athens is you take their token (you can't take both), reach their biome, fill up their meter and then teleport to their room (Do not walk into the boss arena, fill their meter and teleport to the room where you're supposed to get an item) also if you have Ares token and you're in his biome you must fill the red bar, if you filled the purple one completely you will just go to the normal Athena's item room, if you wanted to fight Athena then basically do the same but get her token, go to her biome and fill her bar. After you defeat cursed Ares or Athena you'll fight cursed Prometheus who I haven't managed to defeat yet, I once got a godlike run that died because my items were randomised after I went into the chaos biome (by collecting the chaos ticket) which ended up with me losing 2 items that allowed me to take only half a heart/shield of damage per hit when I used a champion that takes more damage the more weapons I absurd and I had explosive bullets which killed me.

i have a suggestion for you to do if your going to play brotato there is a glitch in the weapons after the character picking if you spam pick a weapon after you pick your character you will receive many amounts of weapons like over 56 or more
Do you know the gun noise every upgrade adds a homing bullet and more bullets every shot makes the homing bullets less but both bullets font egaul two regular bullets

Roguelikes are great
Throw the lego head at a gun, and it will absorb it and get the gun's shot. Plus you can stack them if you find multiples.

You can replace enemies with other enemies and disable guns & pets, too. Do too many and you'll lock off achievements, though.
