Tennocon 2024 is going to introduce warframe 1999: The new Era of Warframe is here. But this is the second time warframe entered a new Era.
Here I discussed which was the First time it happened and some of my thoughts on Warframe 1999. Do you think Warframe 1999 will be a game changer?

Yes all major update have its own quest. It will be the continuation of whispers in the wall story.
Benn playing for 8 years now and im hype to see what they do this 'New Era" especially with TFD as another contender right now. Just want to see other activities and not the same old mission types and no restrictive game mode deep arch.
True 💯 some new game mode would be nice other than a different variant of mobile defence (which most missions are)

@@bellsama6588 TFD meaning The First Descendant? I hope not. Those missions are not better in any way cmon, the most bullshit story and annoying dialogue that goes on and on throughout the whole mission and its just the most nonsense dialogue you can imagine, and then you need to repeat that mission 50 times and they keep talking - I muted all the dialogue in the game because of that, and I accualy liked the banter between the characters as you play and revive someone etc. Those missions exist only to point your gun in some direction rather than shooting all around the place.

The grind is still hard it took me a week to get 6k motes just to buy arcanes but it's lot better than before
Yes. You can select what arcane you want now. Previously all arcanes were RNG. Shit the very first set of arcanes were only obtained through raids. And you could only do those 2 times per day or something. I could be wrong as it was removed after a while I started playing warframe. So never played that game mode much. Now that was an annoying grind!
@@GamingDauG oh yeah and the benefit of Bob is farming fodder arcanes and dissolving to get more I got like a set of energize from it lol
Yea and deep arcademia mode also gives that resource that we trade for arcane from loid. Arcane grind is much better. Ofcourse there is room to improve but still it's decent now.
Just please no open world crap, those zones are a cancer.
Sorry to say based on some leaks, but it is going to be a new open world. Thankfully from what I've found it does have some significant promise.

@@TigraPolosatiy revamping their take on “open world”. Previous implementations were essentially glorified wide open bounty zones.
@@v2zero Considering Duviri was made by the same team and designed to play very differently to other open world zones, it's safe to assume 1999 will be the same. New team is very aware of how the community feels about certain things, and I wouldn't be surprised if they revamped older open world maps at some point.
That SkillUp comment still annoys me today. "This update would give full-blown sequels a run for their money" is such a load of bull and he knew that. Plains of Eidolon was different than what Warframe had before, but it most certainly did not have the level of content a "full-blown sequel" would have. I think all of that BS about how impactful Plains of Eidolon was and how awesome it was really hurt DE and by the time of Deimos, players don't want open world anymore because of how DE approached it. They did the wrong things with it and refused to listen to feedback on how to do open world the right way.
I hope no one makes those kinds of exaggerated comments about Warframe 1999.
Definitely disagree about Warframe's story being better than AAA games. Warframe's story doesn't have mystery. It just leaves out big chunks of its story because the devs aren't interested in telling that story.
your comment about warframes story is stupid, but you're right about the open worlds. i think the reason skill up said that is because D2 was launching at that same time. i don't know if you played destiny back then, but destiny 2 stripped out pretty much all of the depth at launch (random rolls on gear, forced builds on subclasses, etc) and almost killed the franchise pretty much right out of the gate. back then skill up covered destiny as his main game. i followed skill ups channel for destiny content and his warframe video is what got me to stick with the game long term. while plains of eidolon is nowhere near the breadth content wise of a full blown sequel, ambition wise, he's not far off. warframe went from a corridor shooter to open spaces with fishing, mining and animal preservation. the novelty is gone now but it was definitely a big step, and they did drive the ideas into the ground by deimos
@@culturalist skillup says what he says because he's paid to say stuff like that. Nothing about Plains of Eidolon puts Destiny 2 to shame. Destiny 2 released in September 2017, before they did their whole sunsetting thing. Plains of Eidolon released October 2017. No, it had nothing with Destiny 2.
As for Warframe's story, I stand by what I said. Mystery involves implication, with a plan to reveal that mystery later. DE's story has never been written as a mystery. Furthermore, I question anyone who suggests Warframe's storytelling is better than the best story-driven/cinematic AAA games. Omitting story =/= good storytelling. Telling the full story =/= bad storytelling.
If we had seen Stalker's full backstory and had a focus on the relationship between Jade and Sorren and their own character development as they dealt with having a child in the Orokin empire, and seen them have to face judgment for it, and got to see how Stalker remained loyal to the Orokin, that would've been good storytelling, because it would've focused on the actual human characters and their human emotion. Instead, we got a focus on the act of birthing a child that doesn't even resemble actual birth. The story was shallow, meant for shock value and little else.
I'll take storytelling in Marvel's Spider-Man, God of War, The Last of Us, Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor, Ghost of Tsushima, even Call of Duty, over Warframe's storytelling any day. Those games have characters I care about, because the storytelling makes me care about them. Jade will always be just a pregnant warframe, because we don't get to know the human Jade, because DE didn't care to let us know the human Jade.
Hopefully Warframe 1999 will mark a change in how DE approaches characters. Hopefully the characters there will be more than just NPCs we can romance.
@@antoineflemming1 sunsetting was never mentioned as a factor, you clearly didn't ever play destiny, that's okay. but in what world do you think skill up said that about PoE because he was PAID? dude fell head over heels in love with the game and it absolutely has everything to do with destiny, he says as much in his warframe review, almost word for word what i said
Hard disagree. You seem to forget PoE was FREE like all Warframe's content. It introduced mining, conservationism, bounties, Eidolons etc. It was awesome indeed. In fact all their open worlds have been awesome and very well made. It was praised for a reason. It brough a whole new dimension to the game. I would like to hear what's your idea of doing open worlds the "the right way" lol.
@@stonek542 true, and he's also confusing presentation with story. warframes story presentation isn't as good as the games he lists as examples, but given warframe doesn't survive on story content, hell, it didn't even launch with any, and the dev teams he lists for the games he gave as examples have anywhere from 2.5x to 10x the dev team count of warframe and a publisher, it's to be expected. it doesn't mean warframes universe can't be more interesting than the games that put 10x the work in and 5x the time to a lot of people
the idea that they skip over things because DE "isn't interested in telling those stories" doesn't make any sense to me, they always look to expand their universe wherever possible, but these things are planned out years in advance. even smaller stories like the cephalon of the levarian and dante unbound was talked about long before ever added in a dev Q&A. the stalker began as a reskinned excalibur and now could be connected to the overarching story from here on out in a very meaningful way. he thinks game development is "they didn't expand on jade because of incompetence", no, the game would not survive that way
