- Dierks Bentley is one of the most well loved and respected artists in Country music, but yet he was banned from the Grand Ole Opry, and for a pretty wild reason. Only five artists have received a ban from the Grand Ole Opry in its history. Dierks Bentley can now add his name alongside Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Quite the iconic story. From what I read she witnessed the arrest of the Christian organization Christ is the answer crusade at a shopping mall. The people were arrested for telling others that Jesus loves them. The arrest burdened Skeeters heart and she mentioned that at her performance at the Grand Ol Opry. Then later expressed it to Nashville police department. So the Opry banned skeeter. She was later reinstated as a member,

The GOO needs to stop acting like this is a religion, it’s entertainment and regional at best. Music fans vote with their dollars and thats what drives the business. George Straight, Willie Nelson, Deirks Bentley and many more don’t need pretentious associations to be great artists.
