- Just wanted to wish you all the Happiest of New Year! I hope the new year finds you well and happy and safe.
In this quick video, I document some thoughts I've been having about the growth, and Evolution of the Officer Rob channel!
Long time subscribers will remember that we've discussed this before, and for a long time, I didn't know what to do.
It's difficult to manage and balance the videos and production of content while at the same time reconciling it all with the demands of my job and employer.
Therefore, form now on, I'm only going to post what I feel others will see value in and enjoy. Educational and entertaining content for motorcyclists, garage tweakers, Vintage VW junkies, photographers, you name it.
One thing would won't see very much of is any work related content.
I've never allowed my job to define me. And I'm not going to allow my job to define what I post on my RUclips channel.

Haven't seen an upload from you in a while. Do what you want with the channel. I personally came here after seeing a cop video, but that doesn't mean I won't like your other content and I won't unsub. It's your channel and you're free to do what you want and what's necessary for it. Thanks for the content.
I originally subbed for the motorcop vlogs but stayed even after you became a TFO and couldn't really post the helicopter content. Meetups and group rides would be a great idea.

What got me watching was the tour of the city as I live in the UK and never been to America so I've got to see what it's like not just the tourist areas. Your career had nothing to do with it. I've enjoyed the videos so nice to know more on the way 👌

I'm here because you're a SoCal rider. I ride and I'm from the IE. I'm not too crazy about cops to be honest lol. But for the most part bike cops are a different breed than most cops.

I started watching you for the cop content but I've continued watching you because your a good human and I enjoy your videos. I wouldn't mind seeing another ride with SubD or others. Post what you want Rob, it will all come out in the end. Heck, look at Dan, when was the last time he posted a motorcycle video, granted he doesn't have a "real" job but it hasn't seemed to hurt his channel.

I had to deal with that LA traffic last week 6 hour tour makes me appreciate not having to go to Los Angeles as much I know it's got to be one heck of a drive between your house and your work keep up the good fight stay safe out there maybe one of these days you might see me on the roadway from the towing Community to the law enforcement community be careful out there

I watch your channel, because of you, not what you do for a living, I used to live in Ca. and I enjoy seeing it. I've been riding for over 50 yrs, used to ride out there, every where. I enjoy what you do. Keep up the great videos! I watch every one you post.

I love and appreciate your channel for your character, first responders sense of humor, straight forwardness, and logical perspective on serious/tragic issues. Emotions run so high in everything nowadays it clouds even good peoples judgement. So its refreshing kind of watching somebody out there neck deep in stuff nobody wants to swim in, holding a GoPro up still smiling and nodding good morning to the ladies.
Sure cop stories will always entertain with their high tension and boom factor, but it is YOU no matter what your doing that makes this special and really yours. Much respect whatever ya get into, hope you share it with us and always watch that 6.

Officer Rob bro, it’s really tragic this has become such a toxic place all kinds of future content is at risk of never even being made by lots of people.
Everything you have shared is entertaining piece by piece but beyond that the overall example of calm headedness with sound unbiased logic is good for everyone to see nowadays, especially among the- hype everyone fear everything overreact before its too late smog. The overall journey of the channel so far has seemed proud and honorable somehow, I never remember being manipulated for a vote or click-baited. The positive impact ripple that has already came out from you will affect people like nobody understands. I have a black friend that was a “I ain’t going back g” till I shared officer rob 401 and donut with him. Now he understands and agreed teaching his kids safe mutually respectful behavior around officers is going to be the path instead of- RUN! If at all possible- like he has always done before and would of taught his 3 hood living kids to do. Nobody will be able to say thanks enough or click enough thumbs up to make it up to you brother. Never.

I am new in your channel, I really enjoy the way You explain how You see life.
I watched, at first, because it was cool to see the cop side of things, especially the responding to the wreck. Then I got to like you as a person and felt right at home listening to you thanks to your military background on top of being a cop... and let's face it, you are a dork and I can seriously relate :P I miss being around the military, I grew up on base and was there whenever I was sick/kicked out of school.. I was 16 when my dad retired and he became a contractor for the Air Force afterwards.. The military is home for me and I haven't even been on base in 13 years now.. I miss being around that world so any time I get to listen to someone that's lived that life, there's that certain tone in your voice that's a dead give away and it makes me feel at home (to the point that it's making me tear up!) I wish I could've enlisted and done my part, now all I could hope for is to have friends/maybe a gf that's military and get to be back around it again. Till then, I will continue to watch you because you also get to do something that I don't, ride.. I'm not sure if I will ever be able to buy a motorcycle or even if my head would be okay with it these days.. it's been 18 years since I've been on a motorcycle that's moving and I've never ridden on my own. Even if I'm not a fan of your bike, getting to watch you ride, first person, is great for me, and unlike most of the people on here you don't ride like a dick and put others in harm's way. So yeah, I will still be here so long as you are Rob. Hopefully RUclips will pull their heads out of their collective rectum and start treating creators right.

@@MarketStreetRumble I would've been Army had I had the chance.. 2nd Infantry like my grandfather if I had my way and I wanted to be a Sapper.. I mean hell I'm part Irish and born/partially raised in Mississippi and they'd PAY ME to blow shit up for a living?! Be still my heart! Plus while it's not quite Provo's Privey levels of singing, the mottos really go well together. "Second to none Sappers lead the way!" :P And because of that movie I definitely would've loved to try to become a Green Beret, that song has always spoken to something in me.. partly because of the whole "men who mean just what they say" part. Even if it wasn't for my physical issues, being on the autism spectrum means I'd never be able to enlist anyways. *sigh
And btw, thanks for making me embarrased with your comment lol. Maybe someday I will figure shit out and get to a point where I can at least come down to SoCal and get to meet you and buy you a beer.

As the saying goes, strategy is nothing without good intuition.
Making content is like serving dishes I do believe; you can't make food that everybody will like all the time.
Indeed, do your own thing, stay real to yourself.
If people join & want to see cop-stuff, there are plenty other channels, including peace-officers, that can serve them better.
You can't go down that road because of department-policies, you made that very clear.
Tough & unfortunate, but you can't change nor break the rules, so that station has been well passed-by over a year ago.
I do see YT channels like friends, some stay around , some will leave, and some will come back, keep in touch.
As for your directions & content, consider all the things you like and what you can share.
Motorcycles, talking about your region, culture, parades, events, museums, gatherings, what makes LA tick (in the positive sense), the traffic (haha)
Because YT viewers do often forget how much time it takes to edit and create the content, maybe share something about how you do all that.
Maybe you have other interests or hobbies you would like to share.
The imagination is as big as your last SD Card :)
I'm convinced you will find the mojo and continue your travels with the YT audience.
Dare, experiment, be brave and you will get the views and hopefully soon the 100.000 subscribers.

Everyone's invited but you know some folks are going to leave because the music changed from 'middle of the road" chart stiff to garage....or heavy metal......or Broadway hits. Its your party, your music and hey, say "goodbye, see ya at the next one" to those that go. It is a fact of life- it evolves and what might seem the same or we do today, never happened or we never had to do yesterday......or last week...or last year. I think I started watching your videos because of the job you do then I got interested when you would talk about your city and its points of interest then there were the movie jobs you would take us to but I guess what got me to stay was the fact that you’re a “Good Human”.
When I see there’s a new upload from Officer Rob I am not thinking “is it a cop vlog? A movie vlog? or whatever vlog? , I’m just thinking “Yay” There is a lot more to Officer Rob than just the Officer and watching the channel reflect this only seems like a natural move.

I came for the bike cop, stayed for the bike bro. On the topic of how many subs are watching... I have notifications turned on but I sub to a lot of people man. It depends on the time of day the video gets posted as to if I will see it in the feed. I have over 600 subscriptions. I cant remember them all and I cant dig through the notifications either. I think sometimes its just down to the direction the wind is blowing for ya man.

Hey Officer Rob, Happy and prosperous 2020. I work for the New South Wales Police as a Dispatcher in Newcastle (approx 100 miles north of Sydney). I usually watch your channel during a night shift. I like your style of conversation and you usually have a bit of interesting footage of the insane traffic of SOCAL and the burbs of LA. I was lucky enough to do a trip to LA, San Diego, Las Vegas and Arizona in 2009 so I remember some of the roads that you motor along. I know it is hard to show or comment of Police work in LA for the line between a personal opinion and official comment is thin and grey and the outcome for you would be disastrous if the powers that be don't like what you say or the press get hold of it and use it out of context. So watching your travels and listening to the monologue will do me. I ride a 2015 BMW R1200RT (minus the lights, siren and gun rack that you had on yours). I love the 1200, smooth and reliable. Could you do a points of interest around LA - weird things that we tourists don't usually see. Maybe some bike riders hang outs - cafes/greasy spoons etc or some of the colorful identities that you come across. As they say here in Oz, thanks mate and keep the rubber on the road.

The name (officer Rob) and the fact you were a motorcycle vlogger brought me to your channel. You were the reason i went out and bought another bike (2018 Yamaha FJR1300 ) and am currently starting my own vlogging channel. The cop stuff was cool, but I really enjoyed the freeway drives and just listening to you. I’ll continue to watch regardless of content. Keep at it.

Happy new year OR!.. reminding everyone of work life balance, the value of some throttle therapy for those on the job would be a great channel. That’s how I found your channel when I got sucked into work and got back into a m/c.. After the channel’s transition, i stayed and liked the content. Finding a place around not talking about the job and doing things outside of it may be a great niche to help others! All the best in 2020!
