I just Love how much attention Link is getting now :) I knew being a link main (before It was cool) would pay off someday. Here’s to the Melee Link Mainers who stuck it out until now 😁 Edit: Ayye good to see fellow Links! Never had so many likes before lol
I know these kinds of vids take a TON of work when you could very well just be posting straight news updates and etc, so I wanted to say I extremely appreciate the effort put into these and will try and catch everyone one of them you put out. Great stuff man
Completely agree. The consistent 1-minute long intros to most videos are a bit annoying, but that's typical youtube nowadays, which is really a shame. After that though, I think that the content in your videos is very informative, succinct and helpful. It's evident that you're putting in a lot of work to produce these videos - the examples are fantastic. Great job - I'll be watching many more from you!
Having the ability to have what's basically Snake's C4 on a character like Link makes him so much more fun to play. Thanks for the tip on the bouncing hitbox, didn't figure that out yet!
Been a link main since the late 90's and it's probably because of Link that I'm a sns main in mh. Was never clever with him however so this "how to Link" video was very handy!
I just love how many secrets link has! Double arrows, sword beam and an indestructible shield! I am a little upset that his final smash is pretty bad but still an awesome character
This is exactly how I want character tutorials to be for smash bros, showing off the capabilities of every move, including the get up attacks. A youtuber called TheSkuxxedOne did a very similar format for characters in smash 4.
A good combo is when the other fighter is down throw a left - right b (boomerang) then block so he can’t hit you then he will get hit my the boomerang then up b
You mentioned Z-Dropping, then mentioned that you can use specials with your bomb, but didn’t mention that you can also use aerials with them by Z-Dropping the bomb and catching it with an aerial. It’s another great option that Link mains should definitely learn.
Heya Arekkz! I've been watching your videos since Monster Hunter Generations and I had to say seeing your Link breakdown sold it for me because one, totally detailed like everything you do, and two, totally freaking cool how you breakdown character data in comparison to other RUclipsr's and Smash Players that just share their skills and basic knowledge. You just got one more subscribe towards a million and I look forward to any other tutorial for any other game :)
I'm anxiously awaiting every one of these videos! I feel like I'm terrible, but each one of these helps me get a little better. Great work, and thank you!
Another cool trick is throwing a bomb at a boomerang when it comes back to you. This will cause the bomb to bounce off and the bomb goes at a higher angle. Basically the boomerang gives the bomb a boost.
I almost regret not making link my main in the beginning! He just felt kinda slow, weak, and hard to use at fitst. Definitely making him my secondary tho
Thanks for the info, my main link and I really want to get better at the game to the point I'm turning to professionals on youtube and I'm happy to see I can get help! 😄🙂
Very well done guide! I thoroughly enjoy the formatting of this, keep at it! However, I do recommend that you also add percentages or acknowledge the difference for full hop aerial attacks - even if short hop aerials are the most commonly used ones it should be noted somewhere that full hop ones are stronger and can be used as cross-ups, some handy pieces of knowledge for newcomers. Cheers :]
Noob Question: Do you elite players recommend purchasing the older cube controller or does it not make a huge difference? I'm a decent link player and I'm noticing everyone uses these old controllers. Thanks!
You should do s video of characters with gimmicks and hidden techniques, e.g. Captain Falcon’s sweet spot on knee, Ryu and Ken can’t look away from their enemy, Roy hitting harder if you hit at the base of his sword, Link block some attack if he stand still, or get a beam attack (which you covered in this video) but stuff like that. Actually that’s all I know but I’m sure there’s more and I would like to know them all.
This video is great! Just one thing I'm gonna poke about this video (and the next ones) You definitely should add if the combo is a true combo or not. Saying this helps people know their options after landing an attack!
are you going to do this for all the characters or just the characters you play? cuz i'm getting back into smash after not playing it for 8 or 9 years and i'm really interested in cloud and would love for you to cover him
try using the down b special as a decoy. people focus on it too much. at the latter part of the match. switching it up between decoy stage trap or actual attack
I started playing smash 2 days ago and right from the getgo I chose link and he was exactly right for me. I’ve tried other characters and it just doesn’t feel right. I can win like 30% of the time against my friends who have been playing for 2+ years
Tilt the stick toward a direction (Left/Right, Up And Down and Press A). If you *tilted* your control stick towards the left or right whilst pressing A, you will do a Forward tilt also known as *F-Tilt* . You can do the same with the controlstick direction Up and Down. The Move will then be called Uptilt / U-Tilt or Down Tilt / D-Tilt acordingly.
dunnoi where i got this from but i read that links F-Smash is the strongest in game. is that true? not sure if in terms of knockback or dmg but it kicks out pretty often and the ability to use it twice is so nice too
Woooooow I'm a link main and this video actually really helped for combos and tips for me learning the character but can you please fo mario next or donkey kong
@@evanb6594 i know. But usually Arekkz makes one. At least a video about the announcement like he does on Lunastra and Kulve Taroth when they came up on PC.
I love link in every smash bros but I kinda miss the hook shot grab .other than that he's always been my favourite saying that I've only unlocked 10 fighters haahah
How long until cloud's? Lol. Also, Tell them doods to stream later. I'm a stoner and don't wake up early, plus I live in the states. :P Random suggestion, but in the info box for the attacks on the bottom of the screen, just like an sos or something to indicate if each attack is safe on shields would be super useful. If it's too time consuming just to test each move, I understand lol. Edit, the video is great and all, but the first 45 seconds are fucking amazing.
I just Love how much attention Link is getting now :) I knew being a link main (before It was cool) would pay off someday. Here’s to the Melee Link Mainers who stuck it out until now 😁

I trained a link amiibo for my lil bro, i rekt him the first week of ssbu, now.. . Idk
Agreed!
Link Main since SSB64.
Link as a top tier character? What a time to be alive.
Link is a top tier
Oh absolutely, im not even that good and am destroying most people i go against, i barely know many combos with him
@@starblast-2246 I beat most people because of my aim with my projectiles
Always has been lol he’s too well rounded and the items he has can make him tricky
Link and young link are goated, I started playing smash about a week ago and I’m cranking the most insane combos ever lol
combos start at 14:11 if you already know links basics

Suggestion: can you add the button combination for each move?
For the first part?
Yeah
For all moves. I.e. include visuals of the button used.
I’d like this also
Yes please

This would be better if you actually included the controls with each move.
T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas. If you look at the wiki and learn some smash terms then it will help you to understand it
Watch bannanaboys video on smash terminology

How... do you not know them?
Kyla dude you shouldn’t show a special move and not show how to do it. That doesn’t make sense. You having a bad day?
I just love how many secrets link has! Double arrows, sword beam and an indestructible shield! I am a little upset that his final smash is pretty bad but still an awesome character
It's okay, I mean, it only hits 1 player, but it can ko at 0%
The way your logo comes in is really well made and so slick!
*Link looking great* Need that Lucario or Mewtwo guide next!
Thanks so much for starting the characterguide with my main Link!! I love you guys!

Greatly appreciate the guide as a link main, as a RUclipsr, and as a Gamer! Can we get a meta knight one?

I would love to see more of this! If you manage to do all characters, major props.
I'd love a Lucina guide if possible

Link Green Tunic and Fierce Deity are officially my Ultimate favorite Link skins

I only clicked on this because I’ve been playing way too much breath of the wild and came back to smash bros
more character guides please !
Hey this is my first smash game and I’m still learning all this terminology. This may be a stupid question, but how do you perform the tilt attacks?
Tilt the stick toward a direction (Left/Right, Up And Down and Press A). If you *tilted* your control stick towards the left or right whilst pressing A, you will do a Forward tilt also known as *F-Tilt* . You can do the same with the controlstick direction Up and Down. The Move will then be called Uptilt / U-Tilt or Down Tilt / D-Tilt acordingly.
Would love to see one for Mewtwo. I'm having trouble finding good follow-ups for his side special.
Do you have jump using left stick turned on or off?
dunnoi where i got this from but i read that links F-Smash is the strongest in game. is that true? not sure if in terms of knockback or dmg but it kicks out pretty often and the ability to use it twice is so nice too

For some odd reason my new main is DK, no idea why. lol
Bruh, that intro was sick af
Ya know, I'd like the tunic of the wild much better if Link was wearing proper pants.
I'd like to see one of these for Young Link, actually.
Those are the proper pants
Great video, but what if I don’t use a game cube controller?
