The lawyer can say that yes, it was her but claim that her mental state was not well. That a scene like her is not that of a sane mother, but a mentally ill one. Because a mother who kills her kids is a mentally ill mother. He's trying to get her lower time, not save her reputation.
Those poor babies. Thank god the sister called and saved her siblings lives. Also amazing how the officers got there so quickly and reacted. Who knows what 10 more seconds could’ve been.

I think the reason why the news says that even when it's extremely obvious that they've committed the crime is in case the perp somehow gets off on the charges and then sues them for defamation. It sounds extremely stupid, but it protects them from being screwed over in the future. Once the perp's convicted, though, the "allegedly" can be dropped and they can be acknowledged as the scum they truly are.
It's very frustrating to hear 'allegedly' being usrdwhen there's video proof of a crime! However, because of how the criminal justice system works, news reports MUST use "allegedly" until an actual verdict is handed down by a judge.
Otherwise, the defense attorneys for the accused can make a case for there being as assumption of guilt prior to the court date, which can lead to a mistrial.
Thanks to God for those police officers' quick actions.

Those poor babies, so glad the sister called 911 trying to save her siblings. Last I heard the 2 that were stabbed are in stable condition. Just heartbreaking. I hope the kids get some counseling and are able to stay together.

Amazing how our justice system will still say “alleged” when the body cam footage clearly shows the mother drowning the child. This woman is a monster and I hope she gets the death penalty. If she doesn’t at least I know the Lord will take care of her and true justice will be done for ever harming a child like this.

Imagine you are accused of a crime and they have video of someone that looks like you, should they just put you on death row or would you like a fair trial?
There have been a lot of people who were accused and identified as the killer/rapist by witnesses only to be found innocent through DNA, more evidence, or the guilty person being caught.
I'm sure she will be found guilty by reason of insanity, but still have to go through the process or she could be found innocent through mistrial etc.
I saw the body cam the other day. The policemen saved the baby they showed in the clip of the bodycam here. I feel sorry for everyone involved here. This is just so terrifying.

"Mental illness is not an excuse to treat others badly. It is a choice to work on your mental health so you're not actively harming others."
I have no sympathy for this woman. My sympathies are reserved for the innocence children she brutalized.

They need to bring back mental hospitals on a large scale. They closed them in my state of Australia when the state almost went bankrupt in 1991 and several banks collapsed. It was a bad idea. Many ended up creating a homeless population in the first time since the great depression.

As someone with severe bipolar disorder, I’m not one of those people who think mental illness is an excuse for violent crime, however it does look like a case of postpartum psychosis (not to be confused with postpartum depression). The way she didn’t even turn around when they smashed the bathroom door in makes it look like she was in a completely psychotic state and totally unaware of her surroundings. Again, NOT an excuse, but a reason.

Why is it being reported as "allegedly"? We've seen the bodycam footage. I saw the full footage, and they had to reasucitate the child. There's no "allegedly" about it. 🤨

She is clearly suffering from some kind of postpartum mental break with reality it’s hard to wrap your mind around something as horrific as this as a person looking in from the outside and as a new mom myself I can never imagine harming my baby motherhood has been bliss for me I also know I have a huge loving support system around me to ease the stresses that come along with being a new mom & mom in general without that support It can be lonely and definitely isolating at times even with support I can’t imagine what she was going thru in order to do something like this so we should show some compassion before we are so quick to condemn this women

I could bet money on the fact this woman had post partum psychosis, she raised a 15 year old child who has never, ever mentioned any abuse in her upbringing, & all of a sudden her mother does this?! If you’re an ‘evil’ person, you’re ‘evil’ from the start. I’m glad the woman they interviewed had enough common sense to understand this wasn’t normal behaviour, shame the United States & the courts can’t get her psychiatrically assessed to reach the same conclusion.
I’m so glad the children are safe, & thank goodness for the eldest child for raising the alarm & for the officers for saving the youngest.
If child protective services wasnt so terrible id say she should have gave the kids to them. But nowadays they might have experienced the same thing in the system!
