Unfortunately, the Grammy Awards have been forced into becoming a popularity contest. That's what the American music Awards are for, as well as the other awards shows which are about awarding big hits, whether you have talent or not. Everyone there in that recording room, has sheer talent. No auto-tune, no pitch correction, none of that. It's not necessary when you have talent. Remember, Alison was a child prodigy on the fiddle and signed her contract with Rounder records at 14 and won her first Grammy at 19 and put bluegrass back on the map. You GO GIRL!!! By the way, second place is the great Quincy Jones. She's one ahead of him. And for those thinking country, bluegrass, etc., well she's won them across the board. Including 2 times Best Album of the year (O' Brother Where Are Thou? and Raising Sand).

Jerry Douglas on squareneck Strat, Ron Block on telecaster, I think that’s Stuart Duncan on baritone ukulele. Stuart is a major influence on Alison’s fiddling style (and mine 😁) but plays anything with strings. This lazy shuffle waltz groove is amazing, rare because it’s so hard to maintain without the tempo racing away. Monster talents, everybody. 🎶💙
