Reason why I'm nervous to bring my 4 year old to a concert. Yet I caught him singing Master of Puppets, Iron Man, and Symphony of Destruction last week.
Dave's a standup guy. He's come a long way. He has admitted that a lot of his erratic behavior was due to drug abuse and that's behind him now. It's funny how mature you start acting when you leave that all behind.
This was Gigantour 2005. I was at this show and acquired "pit" tickets for my buddy and I. It was so strange because as we were all moshing and going batshit crazy, there was this little kid all huddled down near the front barricade. At the end of the song, Dave pointed at me and another dude and then the kid. We handed him over the security and they promptly placed him on the stage. It made no sense, no one knew where the kid came from since the PIT area was 18 and over.
I met him back during the Cryptic Writings tour when they were in Nashville. He was so sick, I think he said the flu, and still took time to hang out with me before the show and joked around. Talked to him for about a half hour, and another 15 minutes after the show. Really intelligent and funny dude.

Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Dave, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Dave put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

Some top notch parenting happening there. Kid is literally getting passed around by a bunch of strangers
you can hear dave saying "we want you to have a great time!"
at the end, he says "the kid was getting crushed!"
You know Dave is a nice guy he just doesn’t always have the best way of showing it bc he just speaks the way he thinks.
I am gonna get shat on, but I'm a Metallica guy. But damn can Dave shred, and he's a great guy. I wonder what Metallica would be like he was still in....
metallica s poo. Megadave mastar rase.
caden brockbank Wrong answer. Both are great bands
Maverick McFarlane Just imagine Dave still in Metallica and Cliff still alive ! It was gonna be one kick ass band ! But on the other hand we wouldn't have Megadeth
Maverick McFarlane I am glad that Dave was kicked out. Both bands are equal in my mind. However, if Cliff was still alive... Oofh
TheEazy91 holy shit, the room would implode from sheer awesomeness.
now as for the 2nd part of your comment,
i disagree that dave would not have Megadeth, you see
there would be no Megadeth, but then again, there would be no Metallica
there would be.... wait for it.... LOL
METALLIDETH
MEGATALLICA
something like that anyway,
and there would be songs like
Countdown to Sandman
or
Enter Extinction
LOL
or did i perhaps step over a few lines here LOL
either way
Maverick is not alone, i'm also a Metallica fan, but also a Megadeth Fan
it's good to see (From Maverick) that we don't have the traditional bitching about Metallica vs Megadeth
we need more people like Maverick in metal, who have an understanding that they are both great.
+Maverick McFarlane
I agree dude, he can shred
So, who's putting a 10 year old in that situation in the first place? A heavy metal gig, anything could happen to him. Sure, be there but parents be vigilant.
Not disagreeing with you but I can totally seeing the parents being on the fringes with the kid and a surge pills the kid away from the parents
@@MrSheckstr Absolutely, it does happen. I suppose the people to blame for this situation are the people who didn't care that a small child was in amongst them. Oh well, good on Dave for helping him out of it.
@@MrSheckstr hell no if you cant handle youself in the crowd, and you child, go stand in the back
No one is in the front rows looking out for a dumbass kid
@@MaYbYl8eR cut your big boy ego off. If a clueless kid gets lost in the crowd then that kid should be looked out for.
Funny, I asked the same thing 7 yrs ago on here. still boggles my mind.
you're a very nice & humble man Dave, love your sound & your songs !!
Now, that beautiful moment is what I call " so amazingly awesome and the man as well!"! #lovethisguysomuch❤.
same sis I love him so much he's the best
Dave is an awesome person
Dave's an awesome dude. I love to see the more down to earth side of our icons. Respect.
Megadeth - Dave Mustaine saves a kid
Metallica - Kirk hammett desroys a kid
See differences?
Siwy Siwus Coincidence I think not!
xD
You know this debate ended over 20 years ago
He's joking.
This made my day xD
That's the kind of person Dave Mustaine is He Cares, has kids himself.
they gave him MEGA-WATER, walk on home boy
When he's finishing the song in automatic pilot, so worried because of whatever is happening in the crowd, i compare this to 1983 metallica dave mustaine, and i feel glad that he's got rid of all that anger. It feels good to see him caress a child. And he seems much more happy in the concerts too, enjoying music much more. God bless our bad ass guitar hero.
He saved him being a Metallica fan!
Been a huge Megadeth fan for many years and this doesn't surprise me a bit. Nice job Dave!
dave has always had a soft heart, just had abirt of hard crust on the outside, right on dave, jesus love ya
That is seriously inspirational. Maybe that kid was too young to be in a Megadeth concert, but we all get ourselves to some situations that we get scared of once in awhile.
That's what u call beign HUMBLE!!! MEGADETH!!!
And this is why I am a die hard Dave Mustaine fan. DAVE MUSTAINE FOR PRESIDENT 2016!
Yeah he's a really great guy! My father and I just built him some custom microphone stands not long ago. Long story short my dad some how knows everyone haha
Really? Is this really why you are a "die hard" fan? Because he is is a normal human being who's natural human instinct is to protect our young?…..REALLY?

That kid just looked up and saw God
Why do 90 people dislike a child being saved
They probably work for Planned Parenthood.
DuckTalesWooHoo1987 nice
It’s probably just Lars using 90 different accounts 😂
Dave is the man.
The kid looks like Lars
will people ever stop with this...?
I heard he once beat a guy..for lars sake..
True, it was Phil Sandoval from Armored saint
But I'm sure the kid is a better drummer ...
Guillermo Moreno ...lolz
I was there that night Tinley park,Illinois the first Gigantour. I’ve been in the front row of a Megadeth show I’m 200+ pounds and I was getting crushed into the front rail. Poor kid I felt bad for him but I was glad Dave noticed and help him out.
Dave ademas de ser un grab musico es una gran persona
This was Gigantour 2005. I was at this show and acquired "pit" tickets for my buddy and I. It was so strange because as we were all moshing and going batshit crazy, there was this little kid all huddled down near the front barricade. At the end of the song, Dave pointed at me and another dude and then the kid. We handed him over the security and they promptly placed him on the stage. It made no sense, no one knew where the kid came from since the PIT area was 18 and over.
This kid its blessed :)
I met him back during the Cryptic Writings tour when they were in Nashville. He was so sick, I think he said the flu, and still took time to hang out with me before the show and joked around. Talked to him for about a half hour, and another 15 minutes after the show. Really intelligent and funny dude.
Espero que ese niño recuerde lo privilegiado que fue ._. haberle tocado Mustaine es un sueño para mi D:
That’s a dad move right there. Dave’s a solid dude. Respect
awwwww dave
That's how you do it!!! Future fan for life!!
Megadeth- Dave Mustaine saves a kid...
"Good idea for a new song"
Rumor has it the boy never found his parents again and became a rhodie for the band!
his face at 0:37 was like "is that god?"
almost kid, almost
this is why mustaine is my favorite musician
Save that bottle kid. Hold it for a long time.
Dave-“Kid’s gettin crushed”
Crowd-“Yehhhwoooh!”
If creepy uncle joe were there he'd be sniffing him
Lol
Former Vice President Joe Sniff-a-Kid.
Oddly specific
@@johncrafton8319 LOL, I was just about to say that! He gropes all over women and little girls. The only attention he pays to the boys is to say, "Don't let your sister date till she's 30."

I always have loved this fellow martial artist, MegADetH & 🎸 player!
Imagine what Metallica could have been if Dave had remained in the band!
They wouldn't have been setting convicted child killer's free for starters!!!
@@ratacataviousbrown4702 WTF?
Well for one thing maybe Metallica would be a little fucking faster. too many goddamn slow songs. Even their fast songs have those 7 Minute acoustic intros. zzz...
I fuckin love Dave and Megadeth! Been a fan since I was about that kids age in the 80's.
" My kid died at a Megadeath concert. " lol.
A few months ago, maybe mid December before the quarantine, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Dave Mustaine.
I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say.
The people that are hitting the hands down icon, obviously are out of touch with reality.
Thumb*
Or better off, dislike
Yes Dave, you are an awesome human being 😎 ❤️
what happened? a kid got caught in a mosh or something? i was trying to figure out what he was saying. I know how Megadeth crowds get, i'm surprised i didn't break any ribs, i was all the way up at the front. At that same concert i actually met him and got a picture with him. Anyway, like all the other comments, Dave is a really great guy, i'm glad he changed since you know what about 30 years ago. MEGADETH FOREVER!!!!!
Intentional Anthrax reference?
oh, lol, no I just realized that
Metalheads are the best kind of persons! Speaking from my personal experiences, not just this video.
Dave Mustaine is such a soccer mom
Eric West lol. Being as comedic and witty as he is I'm sure he would take that pretty lightly.
Who knew???
Bro saved him from the PIT this is way more dope than more people think
Dave's a good guy just got a bad reputation cause of Lars...
Innocent bystander # 5 seriously, can we just one frigging Megadeth video *where no one brings up Metallica in the comments section?’* It’s just become so, so predictable and tired.
@@whereisevan Especially since Mustaine and everyone in Metallica have all been over it for at least 20 years...
@@bkb757 Lars apologized to Dave but I feel he should apologize to us all for the snare sound in St Anger. LOL!
Dave was pretty icy back in the day!
He was kicked out of Metallica for getting drunk and whipping their ass!
Dave knows what is like to be treated bad as a kid, I know it too. No matter if we have an unstable life full of problems or some idiots hate us, we don´t want to see the same that happened to us.
I think such a young kid shouldn't attend to a concert like that. I mean, his ears are not fully developped yet.
He was wearing ear plugs.
it was yesterday and he celebrated it with an amazing show here at buenos aires. 23 songs FTW!
what did he say to the microphone in the end?
The Extinct Surgeon Kid was gettin' crushed.
stinkydo0d lol I thought he said kids come first, or he's gettin puss lol
Dave was laser focused on that kid while playing.
The mainstream media ,"Metallica" and their slowwitted "fans" , Don't Know Shit about Shit ... daves heart is enormous........Dave's the King
what's up with liking both bands? both are equally as epic
@@witchychlo In my school, in the mid 80s, when both bands were in their primes, you better not claim to like both!!! You had to make a choice. I am team Megadeth, all the way since 1985. I hated Metallica in 1985 as much as I do now. I will not even allow my kids or husband to play Metallica, I mean not even one song, in my presence. I not only hate their no talent music, I hate how they help child killers go free.

I watched a Great interview and Dave was saying he used to be in a bad way when he was younger and then he got saved and going to church and he said it changed his life things was happening for the better and he said you see you can still be a heavy metal rocker and be a good guy. Well said 👍🎸🎶🎵
