Garden Answer is my favorite gardening channel. Laura has a wealth of knowledge that she shares on her channel. You've really made great progress on your garden. You have the ability to visualize a space and know how to make that vision come to fruition.

Hello Linda. I have been quietly watching your beautiful videos.
In this chaotic world and times we’re living thru, I love to get lost in your videos for a bit.
It reminds me of when I was young how much I loved interior design.
I worked graveyard shift and my lunch and break I spent my time going over magazines, (mind you, this was before internet) just slowly taking every page slowly and reading everything on the pages.
I have forgotten a lot of the style of furniture and I even knew architecture terms.
Your channel is perfect for me because I too love gardening, all my life I have worked with ornamentals just a few years ago I started to learn about edibles. I have always gardened organically so I’m good to go and no worries there.
Anyways I just wanted to thank you for all you share even after your surgery. I am so glad everything went well and that you are recovering nicely.🙏🏽
I have started to get so interested in design again, especially after my house flooded with the Texas freeze of 2021. The inside had to be gutted, now thank God I don’t have a beautiful historical property like you, but it is a clean slate. The only downside is that I have a very, tiny budget, but for sure a new rekindled interest of my once love of interior design.
    Thank you Linda, much appreciated.😉💗

I also watch Laura daily and I've learned so much from her.
I too had a lilac bush that was taken over by another bush growing up the middle of it. We hitched it to the tractor and pulled it out of the ground. No more lilacs for me. We put a crepe myrtle in it's place. After about 3 years...I don't have anything good to say about the crepe myrtle either.
Can't wait to see how beautiful your yard is going to be.
Your videos are very relaxing for me. 🥰

Garden Answer!! Yes. So happy to hear you mention this program. I watch it all the time and always gain some insight into my own plant choice or garden decisions. I don’t have a garden to reclaim, but it is now 18 years old and I have learned over time what works, and works together. And, I have also learned to try to invest well at the beginning. You have beautiful space and it will be a wonderful palette for all your choices. We also cut down foundation plants when they were about 10 years old to half at least and they have all returned to their original vigor. Keeping them low every year works better.

Looks like the previous owner's hadn't kept up with the garden work, but it will gives you the opportunity to make it your own vision.
Gardens take years to develop into what you see in magazine's and landscaping books, my Scottish Grandmother said, planting a tree and having the patience to watch it grow is a virtue.

Love the new property. My advice is pay for as much HELP (labor) as you can! Get all major garden cleanup finished as soon as possible. Been in my house For 11 yrs.I have worked in my yard almost daily, some months, the entire day and still can’t get it to look as I want. Now at age 67, I’m getting tired☹️Don’t get me wrong, I’m a plant addict. Plants make me happy, but in this SC hot summers, I always ask, when I get a little older, who’s going to help me keep all this up? My husband helps some now but he does not enjoy at all😂 he does grass, I do plants. Good luck🍀I’ll be watching

Hi Deb, I would love to reuse them, but unfortunately these bricks are not good for exposed walkway use. They are fragile and breaking. They are very old chimney bricks, but I do hope use them in some borders or maybe to divide by herb gardens. .

You have your work cut out for you. But it’s a forever home, so you have time.

I never knew those were called Tansy’s...I thought it was a yellow yarrow all this time...🤭

Hi Kimberly, At quick glance they can look alike, but if you look close, one of the differences is Tansy has button-like flowers yarrow is more of a flower.

I made the mistake of planting tansy once. Took over, fought to remove it, nasty stuff. It does not play with others.
