This was a good first impression video. The only thing that lacked is seeing the core bed in its stuffsack. Knowing what the packed up volume is important when deciding to drop $300 on a new bed.
I thought about ordering this one. I’m glad I went with the light bed. This one is too heavy and the down getting wet from your breath would have been annoying. My main reason for sticking with the light bed is I don’t like the fast footbox. It makes the quilt less useful to me. Thanks for your review :)
That's one of the things that puzzles me. You said you don't like the fast footbox, so I assume that means you went with the Light bed in the Convertible format. The 25 deg large light bed is 1lb 9oz at $299. The 25 deg large core bed is 1lb 12oz at $199. 3 ounces? That's what makes something too heavy? For $100? That's $533/lb for weight savings. I don't get it. There's no way that 1lb 12oz is too heavy and 1lb 9oz is nice and light. I've not used one, but the Convertible footbox looks infinitely more comfortable and flexible. That's what I'd want, but I don't know if that would justify the $100 premium ... because I certainly don't care about saving 3 oz.
I’m waiting on my Zenbivy 25° light system right now, should ship this week or next. Per your reviews and others on their system, looks to be a game changer
I just used the 25 degree synthetic filler version. The nights were chilly, but no colder than 50 or so. Definitely kept me warm and I was only in my underwear. It’s comfortable, too. I think if it were any colder I’d start wearing my long johns, though.
I really wish they made this in kids sizing or even a short version? I basically rigged something similar up for my daughter but I would gladly invest in a kids Zenbivy bed.
So actually ordered that zen bivy. There's nothing similar between that pongee material and home bed. The pongee material looks and feels like polyester. Actually they list it as 100% polyester. Zenbivy even avoid using word "pongee" on the tags. I haven't slept in ordinary nylon bags but I tried them in the stores and I say that they feel exactly the same. So anyone thinking that pongee liner will make the bed more comfortable and add that soft feeling like you have with fleece sheet at home is wrong.
Can you please show a comparison with the new footbox compared to old one please mate all zenbivvy has is a shitty show design on website nothing out there yet...thanks
@@shawnr6117 yes. I bought one to use with my Light Bed. I like it for all the same reasons the Insulated is good for, just doesn’t have the insulation. It’s also shorter so you still get the connection/wing benefits and save the fabric weight/bulk.
Keep seeing people claim this thing weighs less than most sleeping bags but which ones are those exactly? Who makes a down sleeping bag that almost weighs 3lbs and only designed for 35 degrees comfort? I’ll wait, lol.
Canvas car camping sleeping bags? The 25 degree core in Large with uninsulated sheet is 2lb 3oz. I'd say that is about the same as or 2-4 oz heavier than most premium backpacking down 30-35 deg mummy bags. Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, etc. will be a shade lighter. Kelty, Eureka!, etc. may be a shade heavier.
I should have made sure to include the pack size. It fits into a 10L sized stuff sack no problem. It’s not any more bulk than a comparable 650 fill sleeping bag.
Yeah that was a miss on my part with this video. Apologize for that. The Core Bed in a 25º down variant fits into a 10L bag that's sold separately from the bag. That would be one of my gripes with Zenbivy. They need to be including a stuff bag with the bed system.
I've been waiting on that one just a bit, as it's not going to be available until May. But should have my first look at it released in the next few weeks.
I got the 25 synthetic and a fast sheet for $200. With "zenbivyfriends10" a little heavy.. but for the price and comfort, it's worth the weight. I also grabbed a seatosummit dry compression bag, and it gets it down pretty freaking small. It's smaller than a volleyball. For what it is and the price. It's EXCELLENT.
How do you like it? A similar sell is going on again, what is the lows you've taken it to? There isnt a lot of information about the synthetic specifically
I remember giving you crap about 3 Zenbivy videos in a couple months time period...well, I ordered their Light Bed (and deleted my original comment haha)
I've ordered from Aussie and I've been waiting 3 months....yes I got a discount but damn it's been ages now this new footbox comes out fml which one do I go with
Do you really sleep in your down jacket? Isn’t getting free product a form of paid sponsorship? Zenbivy must be giving out a bunch of free product cause every influencer seems to be promoting it… I’m happy with my old setup. It still works just fine even without wearing a puffy jacket!

Thanks for the feedback. That was a miss on my part for sure. The bag/sheet doesn't come with a stuff bag. But fits into a 10L bag.
Under $300 wow! I've heard so much about this company - good to know they've got a budget option. Thanks Devin!
Stellar value!
Thx for the excellent review! Just bought the 10* light sheet & 25* quilt, paired with the new Big Agnes Rapide SL pad...)

Real nice video. So in depth. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these in the future

Sounds great
Man I wish I had cool stuff like that but I'm simply to poor
What about the 10 degree version- it seems the 25 degree limit can be cold when hiking a bit higher or sleeping where exposed to wind.
I'm looking at the 10 degree one as well. They are on sale right now too.
Whats the difference between the core bed and the light bed?

if you're getting the product for free - that's kinda like getting paid, and greatly reduces the integrity of the review
They generally don't get them for free, it's a loaner for review so the company gets there name out there. They have to buy it or send it back.
That’s a fair point
