The sound of Malcolm's Gretsch guitar single handedly introduced me to and hooked me onto rock n roll music. To this day, no other band has the allure for me than ACDC.
And one little device that the Young Brothers got ahold of 3 years earlier, known as the Shaeffer-Vega wireless compressor. Built by Ken Schaeffer himself and used live by Angus Young at shows. But "Mutt" Lange took the device to another level during the 'BIB' sessions employing it on many of the rhythm and lead guitar tracks in the studio. Which is well the reason why the Young Brothers guitars packed so much force on the album.
Not THAT crappy. Lots of great albums recorded at Compass Point Studios. Powerslave and Piece of Mind by Iron Maiden, the Stones' Emotional Rescue and Undercover, Dire Straits' Communique, just a few I know of.
Have to Admire how Mentally Strong AC/DC was during the making of this album, The sadness and depression they have endure and overcome after losing Bon. This is one of the greatest albums ever, and didn't sound like "sadness" in the album but pure joy of rock!
Sounds like a salty rhythm guitarist who can't solo for shit lolololololololol. I'm just kidding dude, keeping the rhythm tight is absolutely the most important. Gotta be sure to support the small ego of the obnoxious shredders ;)
ACDC fans are in for a shock! Bon Scott is alive and well. He is Colin Hay of "Men at Work" Because is it coincidental that they are both Aussies with Ancestral Roots to Scottland??? " The reason why he wanted out! The long time away on tour from his family and the demands of being on the road was more than he could take! He wanted to make music on his own terms and likewise to go on tour at his own conveinience! The song "Back in Black" was his resignation to move away from the spotlight! The lyrics were his signature resignation and the clue to how he would depart from the Band! "Back in black I hit the Sack! (Bon Scott was referring to how he would be supposedly found dead whlile he was asleep! and leaving the Spotlight by slowly fading to the darkness of returning back to a life of normacy away from the bright lights! "I have got nine lives! (He is referring to how he survived many dangerous events a Bike accident, alcoholisn and how he was going to reinvent himself!) "I have got "Cats eyes" (This is a important clue that he has successfully changed his identity! And the only way you would ever know its him if you ever saw him again is He had this rare "eye condition" that looked like how a Cat looks around because they would operarate independently of each other and moving in different directions! Now some people may say wait a minute they have different Birth dates! This is a common practice when hiding ones true identity together with a change of hairstyles! But I think he still played a active role in the Band with ACDC as a "Ghost Writer" because every song that ACDC sang after Bon Scotts supposed death sounded like he still had his "trait mark signature" on all of ACDC's songs! So its up to Colin Hay of "Men at Work" if he wants to come out "the darkness" of "Back in Black" and back into the Spotlight" again to say to his loyal fans and say to them! "Hey MTF's guess whose back from a "Back in Black" hyatus! And is there any photos of Bon Scott in a Coffin in a funeral service?? And how many photos does Colin Hay have of himself in his earlier years with him and his family??? The same goes for Morgan Freeman who is actually "Jimi Hendrix" and "Lady Gaga" who is actually "Amy Winehouse! And is it coincidental that all three just happen to burst on the Social Scene shortly after the supposed passing of these legendary "Musical Icons????? Can you imagine if all three decided to tour together. And their Band name would be called "Grievance Clean Detox Revival??? Sincerely, Patrick S.N. Iriarte "Nostradamus of the Mariana
They didn't try to "replace" him. They went somewhere totally different (didn't try to get a soundalike) and did a beautiful tribute to Bon's life in his memory.
white lightning not my lightning... right???? have i been wrong for 30 years? ughhhh Also not all Bons lyrics were scratched tell me let me Cut you're Cake with my knife is Not a Bon line....

Still one of my all time favorite albums! Legendary.
Unbelievable that they got such an amazing sound out of such a crappy recording facility. All props to the players and engineers.

And to Robert John, the producer
This was the album that REALLY jumpstarted my dive into the black hole known and rock and roll
And I fucking love it

As a guitarist, I prefer Malcolm over Angus.
Keeping the rhythm section tight is important to me.
Sounds like a salty rhythm guitarist who can't solo for shit lolololololololol.

What about the fact that your local rock station will always play them 5 times a day
31: Brian didn't write those lyrics, they were mostly Bon's .
There were only two writers Bon Scott 40% & Steve Schweinfurth Ghostwriter of ACDC and Joan Jett.
Keep thinking they didn't use Bons lyrics they did for the whole album and the song For those about to Rock this was the end of Bon lyrics
The most amazing fact: the version of the title track by Joe Lynn Turner and Phill Collen is fucking awesome!
You are drinking the Kool-aid, Bon wrote most of this album.
It’s amazing how accomplished their songs have become despite the technology available at the time
