I have to say the part where Bo is talking about the time he was in class with his history teacher..... "To teach war is to glorify it" Wow...yea so all those men and women who died fighting for their countries so people can sleep in their beds back home was just "glorifying war." People literally have no concept on what glorifying actually means. Oh god, this conversation on presidents is painful to me too. Why does it feel like the American education system was better back in my day? Keep up the good work, Bo & Co!
As a Minnesotan, I would like to defend our public schools: We do have a US Gov class! It's called Civics, and while I don't recall learning every president, we did spend a good amount of time learning about the constitution and various laws (I can't speak for the AP Gov course, as I didn't take that one). There were also various social studies/government classes that were required up until senior year (when they were optional). Obviously not every public school in Minnesota is the same, but it is (or at least was) the state standard to teach a Civics/Gov course in 10th grade. Now I don't know where in Minnesota Stick is from, maybe he's from Northern Minnesota or way out in the boonies, but otherwise he should have gotten a civics course.

To teach war is to glorify it?!?!?!!?!?!?!? My high school history teachers would all be absolutely ashamed. My best teacher of all time was so excited to get to World War II. We never saw him so happy as the day he opened up that professionally edited PowerPoint presentation and started in on his favorite era of history. I already loved it, because I was the kid playing Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Secret Weapons Over Normandy, and Jane's WWII Fighters back in my childhood. He furthered that so heavily and gave me a passion from which I have yet to recover. My love of history, in particular military history, has only grown exponentially, and my only regret is that I didn't do better in his class for unrelated reasons. I want to find him someday and thank him.
Just, WOW! "To teach war is to glorify it!?" That teacher obviously doesn't know why history is taught in general. Wars have a vast impact on any society. They are transformative and rife with intended and unintended consequences for any society. They are like any event such as pandemics, economic depression, or internal civil unrest to name a few. They become a part of a culture's collective historical memory that influences a society's identity.
The UK Prime Minister list is kinda funny, there's an incredible number of people who were PM multiple times, but never in a row. William gladstone was PM 4 times, but got voted out after each term, then back in the next time, then out etc.
The guy who skipped WW2 should not be called a history teacher. That is outragous. Bro propably didn't realise that most people don't care about his subject and most of the ones that do, are mainly interested in the World Wars and the Cold War.
That, and he hurt an entire generation of knowing vital information. WW2 is one of the most influential wars to have happened for the modern war. It changed so much.

Unfortunately the old saying, History is written by the winners/victors is true to some degree, Wars have been going on since the dawn of civilized man, the days of ancient Rome, Egypt, Mesopatamia and so on. The one thing that people fail to realise or understand is that a lot of the things that we take for granted these days were born from war time, things like Radar, Jet Engines, Turbo-prop engines, Medical procedures and equipment, as bad as war can be, there are positives to it as well, That should be taught along side all the horrors of war.
The absolute irony of a history professor saying that "teaching war glorifies it, so I'm skipping it." He apparently missed the recurring theme in history where people forget about the savagery of war and then decide to solve their problems by war. People glorify war on their own. Teach the truth and people might take an extra few seconds to think before they repeat the horrors of history.
