It’s 2020 and my love for this ever evolving band goes on and on. ♥️✨ The Limitless era was definitely something out of this world! Their sound will always transmit me such a special and powerful vibe that nothing else can. Wonderful set!
I feel like many people, including myself didn't like drive just because of the video being a more pop-ish vibe just because of the dancing and brighter colours, in my opinion watching it live, it's so much more than just pop, i really dig the song and can't wait to see where this amazing band goes.
i meant more of the video than the actual song. like the choreography is what made many people think that the song was turning the band to a pop group, if that makes any sense aha xx
Jenna & Whakaio both said they were tired of writing the " same sounding rock songs, just with the lyrics changed up ; it didn't feel real or true to us as writers or musicians. We still wanted to keep that " pop punk " aspect though but, instead of writing for other people we just thought screw the "genre" that we would be called after the new sound, whatever it comes out sounding as, then that's as it is, and well just be happy we wrote stuff that is finally very true and honest to US, as musicians, as PEOPLE ; A BAND. I agree i love the punk stuff way way wayyyy more but with that said i still do like this new sound, but i agree with it not being " them " if say Jenna and whak started a new project & this was the outcome, cool. fine. But this being " tonight alive " i obviously still love, but its not them or who they have always originally been as a band and people.
But all 3 of their albums were all different then they went and made an album they sounded Like a Jenna solo project and didnt showcase the talent the other band members have
I think all the negativity here is unwarranted. Tonight Alive are going through era's and they are growing. you should all listen to jenna's newet interview with rocksound podcast. youll understand why it even sometimes looks like there arent havig fun.
+ezad azrai Hayley and Jenna sing pretty differently. Hayley is a bit better singer when she's fresh, but there are a few performances of her on youtube where she's worn out and you can tell. Jenna is a really solid though and she has a unique voice that I love.
Jenna's vocals have definitely improved since their first two albums. So proud of this band :)
