    I used some of the cutscenes from the Realms of Chaos campaign (although I cut out the dialogue and some of the bigger moments), so if you haven't seen them all yet, you can just listen to this more podcast style in the background. But I imagine many of you have already completed a campaign or two. Just a forewarning

      It matters not when it will happen. Not the centuries or millennia of time will care for his ascendency. But when he does come. From that hell he calls his home. There will be carnage. Let us pray we can hold the darkness back.

      I modified the code so the rifts don’t start until turn 70, and have 20 turns between reappearing; now I am really enjoying it. You have time to consolidate your empire, field a couple armies to protect boarders, and recruit agents. Soul race and rifts liven up mid/late game cycle. There’s still problems (ie soul race catch up), but I can not express how much better the game is changing only two numbers in code. CA should add a toggle box letting you alter this, just as they eventually added a ‘chaos invasion ‘ difficultly setting into game 2.

    It's definitely worth finding some kind of video of that prologue just to see how well Bel'akor's VA knocks it out of the park. I would have never expected Richard Armitage to break his type casting streak of monster hunters quite like this, but it is certainly VERY welcome. Now he just needs to be playable in his own campaign for Daemons of Chaos, with I guess the only thing I can think of as army bonuses being (like you said) Soul Grinder related according to how the story plays out. They could do something along the line of an undivided cultist, or some kind of improvement to that system depending on whatever campaign mechanic they give him.

    I still think Southern Chaos Wastes have been made by CA for him. Albion is good,but too small and too crowded. With Archeon starting in the North and Be'lakor in the South there can be a thematic confrontation of two great championa of Chaos.

    Nakai doesn't start on Albion if you don't choose him. Rakarth though would definitely need to be moved if Be'lakor were to start there. Which is fine anyway, always a bit weird to see Rakarth take over Reikland as the AI at times.

      Maybe they could have sort of a Lord vs Lord campaign mechanic.. some kind of meter that gives Archeon the ability to recruit Daemons if he's winning and gives Ba'Lakor the ability to recruit mortals if he's winning... I mean the warriors of chaos need some kind of revamp right? And Ba'lakor needs a campaign mechanic

  • @michaelflaig1303
    @michaelflaig1303 2 года назад +1

    I was thinking it could be cool to have the demon prince have a mechanic to complete with Arachon for the title for Everchosen with some sort of meter similar to Kislev but for each individual chaos God allowing you to have a final epic quest battle between the two with loads of reinforcements. Winning the battle could give you options, to vassalize, kill, or confederate the other while granting access to the whole of the chaos roster.

    Here is the deal indy.
    You can't kill deamons.
    You can lessen their power by repeatedly banishing them, but their essence will remain in the warp, until eternity, until the last emotions and feelings they feed upon seize to exist (or are taken away).
    That's also I was kinda wtf about Ursun dying, but anyways. Be'lakor, cannot be just killed, so why not recruit him, and bind him to the mortal plain, which btw, is eternal agony to any demon. It's basically like putting you into a low oxygen enviroment.

    A potential fix for Be'lakor's missing red line is upon the faction gaining control, it just copies the red upgrade line of the faction leader, as in you have the code directly pull the red upgrade line for reference, I'm not a coder, but I know enough about coding to know you can tell things to directly mirror an earlier line of code based on if/or/and variables

    I think the problem with moving Rakarth is that you need to change his Quest Battle since it revolves around fighting Nakai in Albion. Perhaps put Bela’kor in Mordheim instead since he’s also associated with that city, but then that would put him between the Rock of Slyvania, Drycha, and Kislev

    I wonder if they're preparing a big Chaos patch, with changes to Chaos Warriors, Norsca and the Daemons. I'd also like to add that they should probably add more unique models for units such as Chaos Spawns (Chaosbane added models that aren't just recolors, but actually look like their unique Chaos God patrons). Same goes for things such as Forsaken. Nurgle Forsaken should look bloated, while Tzeentch should have feathers and beaks

    Considering the dragons of Cathay consider themselves above gods, I can see them allowing Be'lakor to serve them like all lesser beings, so long as they stay in line.
    Would I rather have them find Shen Zoo and actually resolve the plot? Yes.
    Would I like Ursun as the reward LL for Kislev? Could be done. He's been drained of a lot of power, so he wouldn't be as god-like as before. Gimme a reskinned Elemental Bear to stomp around the map.
    The Ogres? I dunno. Maybe remove the meat upkeep. They ate a god. The Maw ate a god. If drinking the blood of a dragon can cure a vampire's thirst, I think a similar case could be made.
    Right now it doesn't really feel like the plot resolution is there for anyone apart from the Daemons, who, despite being beings of Chaos, never really do much developing as a faction anyway. Nothing really changes apart from Be'lakor being there. For the other guys, let me really feel like "I did it."

    I am looking forward to a mixup for the Daemons of Chaos campaign in Immortal Empires. Perhaps having an actual tech tree, being able to use ancillaries / followers with faction leader, some option for confederating w daemons, and most importantly adding a post battle army effects to the favor sacrifice options so they're able to keep fighting would all help to make their gameplay a bit smoother.

    I think it's a safe bet, he'll get an army buff tree. I think since he was the "bonus" lord for the campaign. It wouldn't make sense to have that around with a faction like Kislev where there are no demon units to buff. So they just took it out to minimize wasting or have pointless skills.

    Mordheim could also make for a good Be'lakor start position, as he (in his Dark Master incarnation) was tied into that game too back in the day. The city is already in the game, with no one else starting there specifically, and it could make for a distinct Daemons start position, right inside the Empire.

  • @tompotter8703
    @tompotter8703 2 года назад +1

    I think the problem here is that Be’lakor is your only reward, no buffs to your lord, your army, nothing. Kislev doesn’t get an income boost from a bountiful harvest, Kairos doesn’t become a melee beast due to using Ursun’s eyes to see the present, none of the other god factions suffer at all from Kugath’s god pox, nothing. Granted, being able to play the campaign uninterrupted might be enough, but after over a hundred turns, it’s possible to feel burnt out.
    Be’lakor himself looks great, basically yeah one-to-one interpretation of his original model, the only problem I have is a kink at the end of his tail, might just be a modelling or rigging error.
    In terms of start position, Albion would be right next to factions like N’kari or even the Godslayer, so he could be moved somewhere else. Maybe the southern chaos wastes as a counterpart to Archaon? Of course all of this assumes that all of the chaos lords will be in the same place in immortal empires.

  • @BatalionHunter
    @BatalionHunter 2 года назад

    maybe for your idea when one or the other becomes the big chaos boss it kicks off the chaos tide all existing chaos factions become permanently aligned with each other and automatically at war with all the order races. with maybe unlocking something like any destroyed chaos factions from before you become the big boss can be resurrected by taking a settlement and giving it to the destroyed faction allowing you to sort of grow the chaos tide and on the other side of the coin if archaon or belacore are killed all the chaos factions descend into chaos and become perma at war with each other. meaning that once the chaos tide starts it's going to be powerful but if the one on the top is taken out everything is going to fall apart fast
    (if your playing one of the non-undivided chaos factions your going to have to keep archaon or belacore from getting killed but you get outposts for every chaos faction that's around and trade deals with them, and chaos corruption from opposing gods would no longer have negative effects for your forces)
    that way the chaos tide would be quite chaotic since they would all be going after their own targets and able to reinforce each other instead of one blob of chaos armies

    I've completed 2 campaigns, demon prince and skragg. By the time I got Belakor, I just felt "tired" of each campaign from the chaos realm race and didn't feel like playing much with Belakor at that point. In other TW campaigns, I would typically play to turn 120-140 anyway before wanting to mix things up and try a different faction. I want to unlock him... but dammmm i do not want to beat the chaos realm race! Maybe i will try an easy one with skarbrand perhaps just to get him without headaches. About the model... It is kinda weird in the face but beyond that, i think they did a good job. All the demon princes seem to be bigger than the model and so does Belakor. To me feels more based on the ilustrations from the latest AoS books (the colour of the wings specially) with their own take on the classic face.
    About him... I understand why he does not have a campaign but i hope it is a "...yet". I hope there is an elegant solution to introduce him properly later... It would be sad if he got the Toddy / Red Duke treatment but worst... I think it would have been better if you actually got a dilema after defeating him giving you some options like
    1-Chain him to your will (the current result, he is 1 of your LL now, but this time with big bonuses to your faction along with corruption and a biig diplomatic penalty with everyone, no one likes him after all). Most demons would probably take it as you probably are already one of the few remaining at this point.
    2- Vanish him to the aether. This would "kill him" giving you big bonuses and rewards so you can now truly start your map painting. More leadership, melee at or def when fighting Chaos,(or in general) perhaps a cleaning of the corruption in your territories as such a corruption source is gone... This would be most used by non chaos factions as they would most likely preffer to bound and use him.
    and 3- Take his power, where perhaps you get his sword (should be epic, usable by anyone and preeeetty good). This would also be interesting for roleplaying porpouses like, for example, giving you big corruption and, perhaps, change your faction to be considered a "chaos" one. Suddenly you get the option to deal with demons and warriors of chaos but have the non chaos ones start treating you as if you were one. That would be very cool, show the chaos corruption and follow the Yuri narrative. This is for everyone, to change things a suddenly have a totally diferent gameplay. Specially for "Order" factions.
    In term of their skills... Why not make them generic? A red line with "all your infantry gets +X melee attack and +X armour", some "all units in this army get 5% missile resistance or +5 speed"... That kind of stuff should work, doesnt it? At least would not be barebones. If blue line can be generic (reduce upkeep, extra experience and so on)
    The idea of a campaign against Archaon is a pretty cool one tbh and could be also Archaons campaign to do the opposite (when he is reintroduced) instead of the regular Realms of Chaos campaign. But i kinda want him like the Tomb Kings, not having to fight for the Souls. Which is weird because you are supposed to be the antagonist... So perhaps you can ignore the race and just have to win the final battle once SOMEONE gets the 4 souls while you are actually fighting to be the Everchosen. It would be kinda weird BUT at least the AI has a reason to keep going to the Chaos Realms and you too if you want to stop them or delay them. But why do that? Perhaps whoever is the first to get there and fight you, after you beat them they become your vassal instantly, your puppet, your minion. So, if you want Cathay to be that, you better "help" them reaching you before the others. That to me makes sense for Belakor. Unlike Archaon, i think he desires total domination, not only destruction of the world. But we'll see.

  • @theunknownleaf409

    The way I thought of the red tree for belakor was basically "buff this archetype" e.g. heavy infantry, but would that be too powerful in different scenarios? But that also wouldn't work with ogre kingdoms cause all of them are monstrous infantry 🤔

    Hey Indy, while I agree that it isn't warranted that whole new characters for each faction should be included after their finale, I have a huge problem with the end game.
    I believe after you finish the story, there is very little interesting choices given. In fact this game is plagued with alot of interesting choices that feel bare bones. Why is there no buffs to a faction upon completing the campaign? No upkeep reduction, no growth, no unique in game battle abilities (eg Ursans roar that buffs units or something). The rewards are non existent outside Belakor, who you rightfully said was very unthematic for many factions! I love him but it's very unfitting, he feels completely tacked on as a reward at the end of the game for anyone besides Daniel.
    The game just feels unfinished and lazy in alot of aspects. Like I love the Names for ogres, but +10 melee attack vs dwarfs is so uninspired... And the pinnacle of how unfinished a product this feels really comes across in the rewards after the game. They need to fix it, fuck SFO had so much detail put into vortex campaign rewards, it's just insulting seeing no effort given the end game to a brand new CA product.

    I'd say the best way to deal with Be'lakor in Albion is to leave Nakai there (he already starts elsewhere if you play as anyone else and having him fight Be'lakor early if you play as Nakai is fitting since they'd both be placed there due to the same piece of source material), move Rakarth to Lustria where Lokhir currently starts and move Lokhir to eastern Cathay/Ind.

    Personally, I would love to see Be'lakor in the game, I would say move Rakarth to Kuresh (If it exists, otherwise move him just to the border of it and Cathay as it's close enough, should be some beasts) as it would make some sense for a Dark Elf to be there, move Nakai to somewhere either in the southlands to protect lizard colonies or whatever he does, and leave Be'lakor as the sole ruler of Albion, mainly to keep each lord from killing the other off too quickly. Be'lakor should, in my eyes, become the 4th WOC lord and bring the rework they need. His whole campaign schtick is that he wants to dominate/kill Archaon (who would hopefully remain near his current spot or better yet just moved closer into Norsca), Be'lakor in the West and Archaon in the East, each subjugating the Norscans in their own way, Archaon can threaten and confederate Norscans while Be'lakor has the "awaken" mechanic, as the Norscans may not trust an old Daemon Prince scorned by the Chaos Gods, otherwise he could just take their lands. Eventually the 2 would meet and duke it out for domination of the other and to lead Chaos Undivided. If Archaon wins then he force confederates Be'lakor's lands and/or Be'lakor and vice versa for Be'lakor. Perhaps each force has certain features that are locked out until they dominate one another, like Be'lakor has access to Soul Grinders but not to like Chosen units or something. In the ROC campaign, I think it would be cool to go backwards, start as Be'lakor as he does random schemes to kill Ursun for his power, like he can't actually leave the Realms but can send other generals to do so, but he can still fight within the realms for whatever. I'm kinda throwing it out my ass for that but I think something like that would really bring me back into it again.

    You mentioned Be'lakor's models... They're basically the exact same in terms of design - same head design, same loincloth/armour, same skulls dangling from the wings, etc... The new one is just bigger and more finely detailed with the wings spread instead of folded. It could be argued that he's already using the newer one because he's holding his sword in his right hand instead of left, and because of his size. His old model was quite small: it's on a 50mm base, so he's like 2.4-2.5"/60-65mm tall at the top of the head, compared to a normal state troop being ~1"/25mm tall. He's only a little bit taller than an Ogre.

    They SHOULD have given Belakor, with his own red line to Daemons of Chaos for winning the campaign. Probably with some unique traits and skills as well. Then every non daemon faction should have gotten some massive factionwide buffs and some weapons and shit (his sword looks neat but you could opt in or like Sword of Khaine)for winning. This game kind of feels like Game of Thrones, like it’s so perfect in many ways but they seemed to have run out of time or not prioritized things as basic as the entire core narrative that they forced us to partake in.

    I think Be'lakor being available to mortal factions makes sense but not in his current form - a bound daemon is a powerful asset and anyone might be desperate enough to take the risk. Firstly, I think he'd make more sense as a Legendary Hero instead of a lord, nobody trusts him so he shouldn't be leading armies. He should be a Sword of Khaine equivalent, with factions fighting to gain and maintain control of him while he provides steadily increasing debuffs to the army/faction he's in, if the lord commanding him dies while he survives he should take the army and become a rogue faction. Daemonic factions should be less negatively impacted by his debuffs, I'm thinking things like a mapwide morale debuff to all enemy units and all non-daemon friendly units.

    The entire idea that he can't be added because of the narrative is solely on CA writing the thing as such. There is no fundamental reason that he had to be inaccessible. There is no lore reason binding him in the Realms. Whatever blocked him off from being added is entirely on CA writing it as such, not on the actual lore preventing it. If they revived Boris, if they literally rewrote the timeline to make all these events happen before Warhammer 1, then making him playable was not some massive unskippable element to adding him in. The only thing preventing his addition is the invented narrative that CA pushed, which itself breaks the lore seven ways to hell.
    So no, there is no fundamental reason why he couldn't be added instead of the Daemon Prince self-insert, other than CA feeling like it. If they wanted to, they could've as easily have changed to narrative to one that made WoC playable in Warhammer 1, and Skaven playable in Warhammer 2. Either by making it so that he occassionally pops up on the map as an enemy who's trying to stall your advance, or as a playable faction with a slightly altered narrative for when you play as him, There is no fundamental reason they couldn't make him playable. And I think this core reason is why they won't do anything different for the combined map, and their honeyed words have more to do with them just making him part of some sort of narrative again, rather than making him a playable LL on start.

    Like, why not have the order factions order Belakor to rip his own heart out or something, eliminating his current physical form again, and in-game have the order factions receive some cool gear or a unique building, or something instead. Sure, not as glitzy as a whole new Lord to work with but less immersion breaking.

    Story-wise, I'd probably rate the campaigns (that I have played), from best to worst:
    TWW3 Prologue >> TWW2 DLC campaigns (those that ignore the Vortex) >>TWW3 Realm of Chaos >> TWW2 Vortex
    I enjoyed the Realm of Chaos campaign story the first time, my problem is that apart from the intro and ending, the cinematics are exactly the same for all factions, focusing on Be'lakor instead of the factions themselves. So while cool the first time, it loses some replay value.

  • @sokar_rostau
    @sokar_rostau 2 года назад

    I can see Be'lakor being a FLC for a DLC rather than coming with IE
    THE most neglected faction in the franchise is WoC. Norsca has less LLs and certainly needs some work but WoC were day one DLC to WH1 and essentially remained untouched ever since.
    We know that WoC have been changed for WH3 because they're already on the map. There's a very high possibility that the next DLC will involve a new WoC LL (probably fighting a new Cathay LL to give them the same number as Kislev) and Be'lakor would be the ideal FLC. Releasing IE at the same time as a WoC DLC solves the inherent problem of Be'lakor leading a playable faction in RoC.

  • @Schokraen

    Totally right.
    But the thing is CA dev team has also peeps which studied game design in different ways and there are always people which doesn't care really much for lore they'll say "We have to direct the player to things like this and that and this should be available for everyone so nobody is disappointed blah blah..."
    But people who like the lore much their heart is always bleeding.
    IN THE END it is just a little campaign and and is not the main focus of Total War Warhammer 3.
    Its Immortal Empires. Everyone knows that.
    Of course we are controlling our faction but maybe we should see it like a story game. You aren't controlling EVERY decission.
    Meow Meow is maybe corrupted a bit itself after getting in touch with the Chaos Realms and Be'Lakor and she are trying to play a game against each other and it is like a symbiosis.
    Just as one example.
    Its difficult to get good reasons for everything but yeah.. I don't like it too because.. Be'Lakor! He betrayed lit everyone!! Actually I had red the story about Nagash and I'm reading Sigmars story now and yeah.. some things are weird if games are making things different.. but this is the thing: If you are making games you can decide.. are you just a game developer or are you even an artist and respect the art of lore and many more things. I think there are as well as both of them in many dev teams so thats why its sometimes weird I guess.
    Just imagine hard lore breaking in LotR... a NERD war will be going on. x'D

Makes absolutly no sense because quite the contrary they could use Be'Lakor to promote IE . Launching the two at the same time is just the smartest thing to do since it give even more incentive to come back for the people who are going to leave the game behind after this launch and catch the curiosity of the newcomers to play him fully on IE . It's just the absolute win situation for CA .

    His HP pool is way too high for a regular LL. I think his stats are buffed up because he's a reward for completing the game. If he's just a regular LL that you can start as, I think he needs nerfed stats, compensated for by giving him a red tree. Especially when you consider Daniel has pretty crap stats and they'd be the same faction. Why ever play Daniel if you can play him?

      I get what you're saying but that makes for an extremely corny way to end a story line as nuanced as this. So many details about what has led up to that moment have to be ignored in order to make that sound even remotely interesting/believable. If people were to watch this happen in a movie it would completely destroy the whole plot and people would be infuriated.

Daemons bad, Kislev doesnt want to use Daemons or allow bad guy who murdered their God to live anywhere near them. Chaos = Bad, Kislev hates Chaos, therefore would NEVER let Belakor lead their armies. ez. It really doesnt make much sense from a narrative perspective, in the established canon of WHFB

Honestly having him be enslaved as a "legendary hero" to the chaos factions would've made more sense with how his skill tree is designed imo. Right now it just doesn't make sense to have him actually lead a stacked army and just serve as a solo stack that follows around your main stack so you can take advantage of army buffs with your actual lords.
