going to a bar that is known for their tending style, in this case flair, and demanding "just give me my drink" is akin to going to Benihana and telling the chef "just give me eggrolls and prawn-fried rice on a paper plate" you want quick and dirty alcohol there are dive bars and liquor stores all over the place. my grandmother was a bartender for most of my life and if someone came in and disrespected her with such an attitude as "shut up and pour my drink" that patron would be out the door and on the do not serve list before the word "and" was finished passing their lips.

I generally agree, which is why I don't go to "flair" bars. However, there's millions of bars that serve top quality drinks with no "flair".

Hold on there, “you want quick and dirty, there are dive bars” most high end bars with specialty In cocktails do not have flair at all, so I understand what you are saying but do not assume that flair bars are the only ones with a higher quality of service when they are in the minority.

This video addressed several of the reasons that I think I'd prefer non-flair-oriented bartenders on average, but it left out the one which is most important to me: even bartenders using jiggers tend to be a bit "relaxed" in their pours, and pour spouts seem to make most people less precise rather than more so (yes, I know that a good bartender can pour a measure based on a count, but given the different properties of the liquids involved, how many can actually hit 0.5 ounces rather than 0.4 or 0.6, let alone 0.45 or 0.55?) so combining a more relaxed movement style with a separate draw on someone's attention, isn't that the worst of both worlds?
And then there's the meta-issue that any time spent practicing these tricks is not spent thinking about how to make the best drinks... I should know, I worked at a bar famous for its flaming arcs of liquor and featured in one of your videos, and their recipe book was terrible.

The spoon trick is a great, easy idea for those of us who took baton lessons as kids. Same concept for bottles and jiggers, but the weight distribution is a little different.

It takes one to reach a level of mastery in a craft, to be able to teach others this smoothly. Excellent tutorial and an amazing collaboration.
