    thanks for sharing , there's someone selling his secondhand PJB BG100 in my city for 400 bucks (im in China), I think I should go for it as I want practice fretless 5 string bass at home..

    I want a cube! Been looking and I think its worth it. Battery powered with features. Nice. And knowing up front its not for playing with a drummer,etc. Practicing,recording. That kind of thing. Good job!

    The Phil Jones double four and briefcase can both be battery powered as well.

    Nice demo. I much prefer the Phil Jones. It's already a small-ish speaker, and I'd take a 5" vs. a 3" - it seems to retain the bottom a bit better. The Roland is more of an all in one with many extras. oNe LovE from NYC

    I play the cigar box guitar so I bot the Roland. Portability and small foot print sold me.

    Hi Mr. Brown, I really appreciate your channel, I am a totally blind bassist with decades of performance and studio work on both sides of the board. May i as you when making a comparison, to (just a bit more often) tell us who can’t see what you are referring to specifically, rather than just saying “this” or “Going to that one” it would really make things clearer. Again, nice work sir and thanks. I personally like the Micro Cube better by the way.

      @@BullyThaKidd I am looking for a battery powered amp or speaker (active).
      Would BA-330 be a better replacement than cube bass (in terms of power)?

    Anyone know how to “defeat” the record out from muting the speakers on the cube ?

  • @pauljazzbass
    @pauljazzbass 6 лет назад +5

    Allen, it's got to be the pjb. Primarily from a purest sound point of view. Many years ago I played on a Roland cube (bass 60), the original orange coloured one, they were very nice. Worth looking out for second hand.

    I have the Rowland cube...I think it's only good for a drum machine and I play with an Orange 25W for practice. The PJB is looking good, especially the double four (70W) amp. If I had to do it again, I would not buy the Rowland new because it's costly for such low volume output... But its nice as an expensive stand alone drum machine

    I just got an Ibanez atk810 the 5 stringer is the atk815. I don't play that well yet. I wish that you could do a review on it. It has a lot of tones I think! Even has a musicman tone too. Maybe this could be your new bass, hint hint. Sure would like to hear you play it.

    Is Cube pretty powerful for the street?
    Does it penetrate if you play with a band in the street?

    • @JeanV1986
      @JeanV1986 4 года назад

      I'd say no. This thing has 5 watts! Don't get me wrong, I own one and love it for practice, but there's not much you can do with it in a band. Maybe an acoustic quiet guitar...

    Sound from the PJ blows the cube away. But how can you not like the features from the cube. And so portable.
    Are there any other portable amps you’ve played. I’m in the market.
    That joyo as well as the black star are yuck. Vox mini sounds great but no batteries.

    Cube sounds a little bright and obvious lacks low end. The Phil Jones is a little milder in the treble, but has adult sounding low end. Batteries is a big plus tho on the cube.
