- In this video I show THE ENDING of this game, that I didn't found in the last video (Thanks Selbi - The Creator of the Hack - to tell me about that). All you need to do is get that monitor at Scrap Brain 3 and then jump into one Special Stage Ring.

A Halloween 2024 ROM Hack
CW: themes of isolation, mild flashing lights, and visuals that may trigger trypophobia.
Created in just 12 days for Halloween 2024, this short ROM hack is all about how much of an eerie atmosphere can be achieved in Sonic 1 by removal alone.
Every action carries an immediate, permanent consequence. Collecting a ring, defeating an enemy, finishing a level-each choice causes something in the game to vanish forever. The more Sonic interacts with his surroundings, the emptier the world becomes, leaving him to wander through a silent, desolate landscape. There are no jumpscares, no hyper-realistic blood, and definitely no Sonic.exe-just a quiet, decaying world. Will you keep moving forward, even as everything around you fades into meaninglessness? Or will you look for an escape?
P.S.: "Inspired by Spindαsh in Sonic 2 SMS and Half-Life 2: Alone Mod. Also, I would've loved to call this hack Sonic Eraser, but unfortunately that name is already taken. At least it served as a nice palette cleanser after working on Sonic ERaZor 7 for ten months, heh."

Thanks for the bonus video! And also, a small fun fact: What you see after the monitor is broken is actually what the original version of this hack looked like. But I felt like something was missing (no pun intended). Because yeah, it's empty and has no music, but without some context or narrative it doesn't really have that wham factor. So that's where the dark filters and screwed up music came into play.

I really tried 7 hours with game genie to find 6th emerald in the end. And i think... Even if the ChAoTiC PoWeR spawned it - it still doesn't make any sense. Really.
(+very scary moment - on mobile emulators you just can't erase any rom hack data and go back to moment before egg disappearing. Maybe im too dumb, but it's kinda spooky)
Oh god... I respect the dedication, but there was nothing left to discover. Had I known how dedicated players would be in grabbing out of bounds chaos emeralds, I would've made sure they don't appear in the first place.

I wonder what happened after getting the emerald?
The special stage just resets again. Sonic is now permanently stuck there because the world outside is erased.

Y es que sonic esta atrapado en un ciclo sin fin y para acabarlo tiene que conseguir las 6 esmeraldas caos pues porque en cuando se pasa el juego sigue diciendo try again ah por cierto como dice el nombre sonic esta solo.
