I transcribed a cemetery here in Illinois for findagrave, because a guy like you took photos for me of my grandparents and great grandparents in Iow. so i wanted to pay it forward. I love helping people find their family.
I really love these stories. Nobody is truly gone forever as long as someone remembers them and tells their story. What y’all do really does make a remarkable difference in the legacy of an ordinary person. And while the famous may be worth remembering, the ordinary people are too. Some are a lot more worthy of that remembrance than the famous.
You may not be curing cancer but you are providing a very important service. At least in our region we hold our dead in reverence and not just anybody is able to go do the leg work. You folks are awesome!
Leo you and Heather go places that the postal service doesn’t dare🤣. I lived in Wise county Va for 30 yrs. I love this part of the country. I go through your area about every 6 weeks to see my daughter and grandchildren. I notice things that you talk about. Can’t wait to pick up a Hatfield and McCoy shirt.
Leo, I have been looking for my Great Grandparents grave for 30 years. Three years ago we found my Great Grandmother. Still looking for the Great Grandfather, they weren't buried together. I would have loved it someone would have taken the time out of their lives to list him on Find a Grave. No, your not curing cancer, but your making a change for someone life. Down the road some Grandchild might be looking for her and they will find her. Thanks!
That's great, it's not always a easy task finding your family on a tree. I found where he is buried. Just can't find anyone at that cemetery that will show me the spot. Which you know is because unlike Leo they won't take the time to research it.@@backbeatrythm8693
Remembering these people keep them alive. Thank you for the courtesy & respect you, Leo, show them & thank you Heather for the editing & the input you provide
You are doing a wonderful thing Leo and Heather. Keeping memories alive of people who might otherwise be long forgotten. You have a wonderful story telling voice Leo.
Your journey with find a grave is a true blessing. When you die and cross over you are going to find many people waiting to thank you for your work. I thank you too.
Remembering and honoring those who walked this earth is hardly a silly idea. What you and Heather do is so beautiful . What you do is a blessing for many families.
And again you got me crying over people I don't know. Lol. As a mother I think I can safely say, Amanda is resting easier. There's no greater gift than your child coming home...
Looks like you had yourself a nice drive out Rt.52 that day! Being from Huntington, I've been up and down 52 countless times myself............ good road to roll the windows down ( depending on time of year of course ) and take in the sights along the way! GREAT VIDEO as well might i say!! You and Heather do GREAT WORK!!
You and Heathers dedication to your mission to reclaim these peoples history is incredible. I really enjoy these videos. You are inspiring me to go to a small cemetery in southeast Ks where my family is buried and record a video with what I know for my family and future generations. I love the memory rocks and would like to do this for my mom and her sister to put with their parents and brother. Thanks for the time you spend to remember this history.
Leo, you tickle me…from making the snow angels to almost repeating the postal service slogan. You & Heather do such a wonderful job of finding those who lived in the past so that those of us can know their stories and history. BTW, if I had gotten onto the ground to make snow angels, I’d probably still be waiting for someone to help me up. 😂🤣😂🤣
I still think you and Heather should do a book with pictures and stories! I know I would buy one and I think others would to!! I love your videos and I know that sometime you will be touring a cemetery or graveyard, and I will see a relative of mine!!
Oh no no it’s definitely not silly. I personally am so grateful for people who update the find a grave site and put pictures on it etc. it’s a wonderful wonderful thing and very grateful for what you do!
The cemeteries were pretty cool. The drive down the country road was great, beautiful country. Thank you very much for sharing Rosa's story. Great video, thank you very much Leo and Heather. Take care.
Thank you Leo for. sharing such a beautiful day with us! People we love are always with us that does not always include just. family. People leave memories. I loved this story.
❤ thanks Leo It snowed in my area. I made snow cream. Think next time I will get my cordless drill with hand mixer tool. Hands got cold but it was good. Thanks.
Hello! I'm a brand new subscriber who just found you! I just finished watching your video on the Walker sisters. What an incredible story. Now you've transported me to such a beautifully peaceful, snowy spot. Watching the snow falling in such a spot was mesmerizing. I'm so excited to catch up on your past videos! I love your part of our beautiful country, and now I feel so fortunate to find such a great tour guide and historian to take me along. Thank you is really all I can say...❤
Heather & Leo you both are very special people. God has a special place in heaven for you. Your work you do is beyond just listing names. Thank you for your work. This was a good video❤
Leo , How horrible to cover her gravsite with trash that makes me sick nobody deserves to be treated that way regardless of what difference people might have with each other. Glad you guys found her grave , I wasn't part of the feud but like I've mentioned in the past my/our relatives were neck deep in it . I hold no grudges and don't care what happened back then but I will say of anyone hurts my family believe that ugly side of my genetics would come out need I say more .. and I'm sure most people feel that way and do anything for the one they Love more than they love their own lives . God Bless Brother and keep making your wonderful vids and I'll keep watching and supporting ya'll. Kyle
A late friend of mine is a direct descendant of Jesse James. My friend's name was Mike James. He had the family tree to prove it. I thought it was pretty cool.
I love to hear the roosters crowing on your videos brings back memories of staying at mamaws and papaws for the summer.one time I went to gather eggs and they had a hen setting on her eggs but she wasn't on her nest that day and I was curious young girl so I looked into her empty nest and saw a big snake well that scared the neck out of me I ran out of the hen house left the door wide open and hollered papaw snake snake he was sitting on the front porch who knew I wasn't joking he went and got his gun and shot into the nest killed the snake which was a copper head pulled it out and showed me cause I was excited and scared all at the same time it had eggs inside it.but the good thing not one chicken got out of the hen house.loved gathering eggs but not so much after that lol.
Leo I just found out I am related to Hatfield and McCoys. My Mommas family is all over in West Verginia and Kentucky, and Ohio my Granddaddy is buried in West Verginia . His name is Homer Burton. He was married to Lonnie Roe, and she later married Junior Kingsbury. They had 8 children. My Momma's name is Dovie Burton Tobey. I love all your videos I find myself crying through many of them. You and Heather are doing a amazing job thank you for all your hard work. I love you both. God Bless
Just an aside, Jesse James robbed the Bank of Columbia in my hometown of Columbia, Ky. They have a “Downtown Days”, which used to cumulate with a reenactment of the bank robbery. I don’t live in Kentucky anymore so I’m not sure if they still do it. Just thought it was an interesting little factoid. Y’all keep doing what you’re doing. It may not seem like it’s important in the grand scheme of things, but it is important to us that care.
I ❤ the stones you & Heather are making. Hey Leo, here they are excavating an old Jewish colony graveside(Suriname, Joden- Savanna). And they used white powder( Baby-powder, no it's not made from baby's😂😂) to read the crumbled headstones. Maybe you can try that next time too without damaging the stone. God Bless you all❤❤.
@@roos24k65 No flour, chalk, cocoa, baby powder/talc, salt, baking soda, for enabling reading. They are all considered too abrasive, especially if it gets into the grooves formed by the engraving. It can cause major damage.
Leo, you frequently talk about climbing a hill or mountain. It wouldn't be West Virginia or the Appalachian mountains if you weren't climbing a hill. LOL Remember we hillbillies love our hills. Hate that hot flat land. 😊😊😊

Whilst i think its lovely that the ashes were scattered on the graves, why did they not bury his ashes next to them? They could have added a marker too, and had a permanent memorial alongside the rest of the family. Not criticising at all, but Im always confused as to why you dont do this in USA?
