I don’t comment on anyone’s video. You’re actually the first, but you deserve a HUGE THANK YOU!!!! I took my CPC exam last week and your videos helped me tremendously! I’m not the fastest reader and I have terrible test anxiety, but because of your tips and process of elimination strategies, I was able to relax during my exam, complete the test with time to spare (which I used to make sure the answers I circled in my test packet matched the answers on my scantron sheet 😝), and pass with a score of 80%!!! Wow! You are so knowledgeable and informative. It's nice having someone break it down clearly (and especially your other coding example videos - which I love). I just recently found your channel and I'm very grateful for it. Thank you for sharing! I was following another coder for a while for tips and it was honestly a little overwhelming. So, I really appreciate your approach and you've been so helpful! I do have a question I was hoping to get your advice on - I graduated from a 15-month medical coding program at my local community college in the summer of 2020. I had to wait due to covid to take an exam, so a little time as passed. My plan is to study/practice and then take the exam in March or April. I'm not working right now, so I have a lot of time to study/practice. My issue is I've become a member of Ahima and planned on taking the CCS originally. However, the more I've practiced, I've noticed that I do better with the CPT book on getting coding answers correct. Although, I've read that it's better to be credentialed with a CCS vs a CPC. (The tests aren't cheap and I just want to make sure I'm taking the best test/path for me lol) What would you suggest for me to do if you were in my shoes?
Thank you so much for your advise! I'm taking my test this week. I wasn't very confident and started watching your videos last night and feel so much better about taking it. You explain thing so well!

Very interesting! It sounds like the way I did chapter tests in AAPC, where I would look up BY the CPT or ICD codes, and write down "Not b," when I determined it wasn't answer b, or "Not b or c," it sounds like YOUR tips kind of agree with that! Of course, I need to "speed it up," and realize that I don't have 4.5 average minutes per question, when it comes to the AAPC final exam, or the REAL CPC exam. The white board tip is AWESOME. I was wondering whether I could have scratch paper if taking it at home, but the white board sounds like a life saver.

Victoria, I live in Seattle, and I am about to try to take the chapter test for Chapter 19, the E/M code. I still have three mountains to climb: Chapter 19, Chapter 20, and the AAPC Test. I welcome some "tough coaching:" On the REAL CPC exam, if I do my "write down the CPT or diagnosis codes of the four choices, and go by process of elimination" way, I WILL run out of time, bar none? One gets 2 hours to answer 25 questions in the AAPC chapter tests, but even their final exam cuts down the average time to 2-3 minutes one can allocate to every question.

I just took mine for the first time yesterday, June 11, 2022. I'm in the painstaking stage of waiting for my score. I too, think I would have learned better from an in person coach, than taking it all online, but everyone has faced challenges because of COVID. I hope that you have since passed. I fear that I failed, and that 5 points would be the difference.
This was so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for your videos! When I pass my CPC test (on the first try) I'm going to order your #Medicalcoder t-shirt!! muhahaha!
Good afternoon Victoria. I love your commentary. You are helping me more than you realize. Your cpc review is extremely helpful and I can't wait to take your crc course. Keep up the good work.

You are a good teacher! I have only been watching your videos for 2 days and learned so much. I will be taking the CPC exam soon. I will probably watch all of your videos in the next month or so. I will hit the like on all of them!
Thanks so much for these videos!! Im a bad test taker but you explained how to quickly work through the questions. I’m scheduled my exam for Feb 1st and 2nd! 💙
Awesome! Hopefully this helped put you a little more at ease! Definitely follow up and let me know how it goes with the exam!!
@@ContempoCoding I passed the exam the first attempt. ☺️
I'm preparing for 2022 CPC... To be true you really motivated me.
Hi friends. I just got the results that I passed my CPC exam and I am happy to say I passed with 83% all thanks to MR GEORGE for his materials this guy is awesome🤗 massage me on my inbox if intrested to get in touch with him
Thanks so much for the helpful tips on passing the exam! I passed on my first attempt. Taking a bunch of practice exams and timing myself was a huge help. Also starting from the back of the exam booklet and answering the easy questions first was a great tip. Thank you thank you!
Hi, congratulations 🎉
How long have you been studying for the exam?
I am taking the exam in a couple weeks. What is you best advice?? I am really nervous about it. I have medical background but not necessarily with coding.
I did purchase the practice exams from the AAPC website to use
Hi Victoria, I live near Lancaster also. I ordered AAPC books and taking their CPC exam, so can you please do more REAL case coding videos? You did one with a examples of start to finish cases on surgical coding, showing real cases and how you dissect them to find what needs coded. ALL of your videos are very helpful so thank you! Videos of dissecting cases is very RARE on you tube, I only found 3 videos!
I have my exam next month and honestly this video has made so much sense when it comes to strategic testing for this exam ! thank you for the HELPFUL TIPS!
I just found out I passed my CPC exam (1st attempt). Thank you for making these videos, they helped me feel prepared. 😀
Congratulations!! Did you purchase the AAPC course? Or did you just study in your own? I’m so lost. Don’t know where to begin. The AAPC is 3000+.
@@RO-rv3fj My employer provided the books and we had a CPC instructor in the department. We met on a weekly basis with the CPC instructor but I also watched these videos to help me understand the material. I definitely watch every you tube video possible to help pass the CPC exam.
@@pmaldo94 thank you

I will follow her strategy.I failed when Ai took my CPC exam because I keep reading and look tru the index every questions and I ran out of time. This video give me some ideas and motivate me again to take my CPC exam for the second time.

I'm getting ready to take the AAPC test-CPC soon. Wish me luck! 🤞 I'm certain I'll remember what you've said here. Thank you!
Thank you for this. I take the first half of the exam on Friday. This helped a lot.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for all the tips and information. Your videos have been very helpful. :)
I just recieved my exam results and passed my cpc exam on the first attempt!
That's awesome, Rachael! Congrats to you!!
I am scheduled to take my first CPC exam on the 10/17/2021. I have been watching your videos and they are really very helpful.
How did you do? :)
Thank you for your help, I have been nervous about taken this test.
I took my exam on Saturday and bombed. I was so overwhelmed. I was a 2020 reschedule due to Covid and just got in my own way. I already ordered your practice exam and will just continue to study. I think I'm going to try Optimum ICD book.
When I pass my CPC test (on the first try) I'm going to order your #Medicalcoder t-shirt!! muhahaha!
excellent infomation thankyou for sharing us!
Glad it was helpful!
Good afternoon Victoria. I love your commentary. You are helping me more than you realize. Your cpc review is extremely helpful and I can't wait to take your crc course. Keep up the good work.
Hey Destiny! Thanks for your great comment! Keep on coding on!! :)
The back of my ICD 10-CM has my hand written notes on CMS guidelines, do I have to rip that page out?
"Handwritten notes are acceptable in the coding books only if they pertain to daily coding activities. Questions from the Study Guides, Practice Exams or the Exam itself are prohibited. Tabs may be inserted, taped, pasted, glued, or stapled in the manuals so long as the obvious intent of the tab is to earmark a page with words or numbers, not supplement information in the book. Altering, whiting out, painting, or printing over any pages within the code books (e.g., marketing pages, table of contents, reference pages, etc.) to supplement information is prohibited.
No materials (other than tab dividers) may be inserted, taped, pasted, glued, or stapled in the manuals."

Hi Victoria can you please guide me about the manuals to use, is it allowed to get exam bundle from optum to sit for cpc exam? thank you.
You can use any version of ICD-10-CM and HCPCS but the CPT must be the AMA Professional Edition ONLY. You can find out more on the AAPC exam FAQs:
www.aapc.com/certification/faq.aspx
Thank You for this Victoria! Lots of helpful tips and information in here!
You bet, Paula! It's funny how just knowing little things ahead of time like not throwing away your shrink wrap can make examinees feel a little more comfortable.
Mahalo from Hawaii, this is very thorough on taking the exam and help with the nerves
It is now 100 questions and 4 hours in 2022. Can you break this down please.
I have been a biller and coder for 26 years, I am going to sit for the CPC. I would like to be on the business side of healthcare.
As a Indian aspiring coder ,you are just amazing 🤩
I'm having to retake the exam, and this has helped so much.

Just finish taking a certificate program and I’m so nervous of signing up for the CPC Exam since I suck at testing 😭
How did you do on your exam?
Which certificate program did you take?
@@ourhalfdozenrvlife5839 I haven’t been able to take it since there’s none in my area at this moment and I can’t take the online one 😩 So it’s pretty much a waiting game for me
@@vivian318 I’m from New York it’s a program called ABC training center
Hi, Im barely in my program, and it's online, so its a bit difficult for me. I'm doing the outpaitent CPC training. Just want to know how the process goes after all my training and certifications. Where do I sign up after for a membership, and where to take the test.
What is 10,000 series.?
going to be signing up for your E&M course!!
Glad I watched this. I'm not used to seeing CPT procedure codes listed before diagnosis codes. That would have really thrown me off if I didn't know about it ahead of time. And I tabbed the E/M grid too. THANKS!
You're welcome, Kathy!
This was so helpful you cleared up some major confusion I had. I'm watching everything you have on coding cuz I feel like after I do I'll be a MFing pro!!
Awesome, glad that it hit the mark! Thanks for all the watch time and your kind comments!
I'm retaking my exam in 2022 so I get test anxiety but I was still surprised that I failed after taking the CPC CLASS and practice exams. Any tips?
