I liked this and I am really much of a Beyonce fan. Eddie has become an amazing acoustic guitar player. He plays a lot of interesting instruments as well including the accordion and the pipe organ. Rather an eccentric in some ways.😎
besides beyonce, lady gaga is another artist that seems to love eddie vedder. but they both yet has opportunity to perform together, although vedder was the inspiration for the male singer portrayed in Gaga's famous movie with Bradley Cooper " A Star is Born"
Hi! This my first video I have seen of you! I love your thoughts on everything. Do you do requests? If so, I would love to see what you think about Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, and Gary Clark Jr Stevie Wonder Tribute (Not sure if this is the kind of music you react to/like, but just a thought). There's a guitar solo at the end that you might like
Hey Orrin welcome to the show! Glad you enjoyed what you saw. Yes my channel is completely request / suggestion driven...everything I react to is suggested and requested by viewers and The Fanbase. I'd be happy to add your suggestion to the que, please be aware the que is very long at the moment (currently standing at around 58 videos and counting) I will get to it I promise, just please be patient while I work on getting to it. Do you have a link to the specific video you want me to watch? That way I don't accidentally react to the incorrect version of the video by mistake. Stat Fabulous!
2015 Global Citizen Festival was in Central Park, NYC & it's an all day festival with, simplified, the goal of ending world hunger. Beyonce' & Pearl Jam were the headliners ( all genres at GCF). Pearl Jam went last & then this duet was the last song of the Festival. When Eddie performs duets or solo, he is a different performer. He does many acoustic, folk cover songs along with PJ songs. He also, at solo shows, prefers (strongly) a seated quiet audience & plays smaller venues. During the instrumental section, Nelson Mandela was projected behind them giving a speech on ending hunger. It was incredibly powerful & moving live. Redemption Song is probably a song Beyonce already knew. A Bob Marley song was a perfect cross genre pick & this song is well known. They could have worked out the duet that day, Eddie does that for PJ shows, he does the set list for each show & he may get an idea & tell the band prior to the show saying not to worry, it'll work out. I love when he sings acoustically. I'm a fan of acoustic & the songs go well with his baritone. He has done so many duets, I think he could sing with anyone. But I am biased. IF they would duet & if so what song caused much speculation & opinion in the fan base prior. Most everyone was happy. Eddie did 'Imagine' by John Lennon prior to this song.
Ok shit I appreciate the reactions. I had it in mind that you didn’t like Pearl Jam, and that’s fine. That said, I’m happy to learn you look past and break down the music song by song. Beyond that, layer by layer. Keep it up man, well done
I'd be happy to, any song in particular? If you do make a request, please include a link so I watch the correct video. Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed the show.
Thanks for this review. I agreed with your analysis of Eddie's guitar play. He isn't a world beating guitar player, but he has figured out some more simple techniques and he really does them well with feeling. I'd be interested in hearing how you tend to consume your music. Do you listen primarily while doing other tasks like driving or work? Do you put on a pair of headphones and listen to music regularly instead of other things like TV? There are lots of songs I really like that I have to be in a particular mood to want to hear and then there are other songs I just want to hear more often. I love Bob Marley and I love this version of redemption song, but I have it on my Bob Marley playlist, not my PJ playlist because it's the kind of song I want to hear when I'm in a Bob Marley kind of mood. That playlist is played probably once to twice a year, where I dive into my much bigger PJ list at least weekly.
Great questions, would you like me to answer here or on my next Q & A video? That makes perfect sense why you would put this song in a Bob Marley playlist rather than a PJ playlist. The mood, tone, and feel of the song definitely fits with that style.
@elijah Ouch.....over 14 minutes. If I did that, my reaction video would be at least 30 minute....probably more. Any chance you'd like me to react to something shorter?

I was at the show where they did 99 Problems with Jay Z. It was in Philadelphia at the Made In America festival (2007 I think). I love Jay Z and 99 Problems is a great track. Fun fact, after the show while walking home from the festival Jay Z and Beyonce's limo pulled up at the back entrance to the Four Seasons. I was probably 10 feet away from them when they popped out and quickly hustled in. I fan boy yelled something complimentary to them and Jay Z waved.
Circling back here for a sec. In addition to loving rock, I also love hip hop. The Made in America Festival was organized by Jay Z and was 2 nights. PJ headlined one night and Jay Z the other. It's good to see how "old" Ed has learned enough new tricks that he has been able to improve as a singer even as his voice has also changed due to the passage of time. I remember when this came out and it came up in conversation before we'd actually heard it, and some friends who are Beyonce fangirls/boys were telling me that she probably blew him out of the water because she is this super awesome singer and so on, but I knew that it was probably not the case and that Beyonce probably had tried too hard to do some vocal acrobatics to show off to the detriment of the song and, wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what happened. It was not as bad as Bleeding Gums Murphy singing the national anthem in the Simpsons, but you get the idea.
