    I think the flameo hotman thing is very funny now cause I forgot that Aang is actually literally an "old man" and may only remember the old timey slang from 100 years ago😂😂
    Like a granddad😂

    Aang and Katara were doing one of their usual waterbending routines and used it as a romantic dance.
    Cause that's low key what waterbending is😭 so beautiful

      @@MeeshDeeReacts SInce Book One Katara and Aang had such good chemistry,
      They don't only train, when they train they have fun, they exchange, they do all kind of stuff together just for pleasure and guenuinely appreciate each other company.

    I think Aang and Katara's dance was basically water bending without the water. That is how Katara knew what to do so easily.

    My fav little detail about this episode is whenever we see Zuko talk to Iroh they pan it to where it looks like Zuko is behind bars instead. Almost as if he’s imprisoned himself from the truth

      Never thought about it like that but that’s so true!

  • @mattiaachille233
    @mattiaachille233 9 месяцев назад +11

    Despite my misgivings about it I think it’s true that it is more realistic for Zuko to have NEEDED to go back home to really understand his old life wasn’t it.
    BUT it’s also true that he was really lucky to get another OTHER chance to make it right, cause if Aang died that would’ve been it. And he also got the assassin to go after Aang again which could have also been the final nail in the coffin for the world

    Also I thought too that it had been a year since The Avatar Returned but it actually wasn’t. Remember in Book 2 The Chase episode Appa was shedding and Aang said it was the beginning of Spring. So probably by episode 5 of Book 3 is Summer. Which means Book One was during Winter Season.

  • @georgesmith6218
    @georgesmith6218 9 месяцев назад +2

    Early in season 1 was Winter Solstice, which is around mid December. There Roku told Aang to get things done by the end of summer next year.
    And the black sun day is going to be in July

    This episode shows how the fire nations hides the truth from its citizens to fuel the war! The teacher asking about a battle between the air nation vs the fire nation, when the the air nation were peaceful nomads and monks. In laters episodes (6 and 11) they also show how the truth about the war has been hidden

    The Aang gang is taking a lesson for Azula. They are hiding in plain site in the Fire Nation while they use information obtained to defeat them from within. This episode is great in that it shows how the victors write the history books. The Fire Lord is revered and the Fire Nation is both strong and honorable. NOT!!

    Aang's Fire-Nation slang is 100 years old. Imagine if someone came up to you with 1920's slang (23-skiddoo, "So's your old man", etc.), so that one guys reaction ("Hello.... ... I guess ...") is pretty understandable.

    This episode is essentially a Footloose parody, but it is definitely not filler for a couple of reasons, 1 of which I'll explain further later in a later episode.

    • @mohammadjunaid2683
      @mohammadjunaid2683 9 месяцев назад +4

      Its also not filler because this ep humanizes the firenation people. The kids are just regular kids just under heavy rules and regulations.
      And The propaganda aspect. That the history is written by the victors. For all we know Firenation made the Airnomads the antagonists in their history books because they can.

    • @MeeshDeeReacts

    The Zuko and Iroh scenes in this episode are so heartbreaking. 😭 The writers did an excellent job depicting how internal conflict bleeds into one’s outside actions.
    Also, it was a good intro to the fire nation civilians because for most of the series we only see the fire nation as a people through the destruction and hate of their armies. This episode we got to see the kids and how their minds are molded into feeing a certain way even in their school systems.
    Also, it would be the bully who snitched 😒lol

    Hey Meesh and Dee "Happy Friday". I hope you two day have been good. This was a great episode as Team Avatar infiltrate the Firenation. And Aang going to school was very interesting. As he goes by Kuzon. we get insight into the schooling of the Firenation and it propaganda. I like how he came up with a dance party to change the ways of the Firenation youths. And allows the kids to express themselves.
    I couldn't stand the Firenation bully Hide. Sokka and Katara pretending to be Aang parents was hilarious. The dance between Aang and Katara was great. Now Zuko sent an assassin after Team Avatar. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.

      Hey Rob! I love seeing Aang just be a "normal" school kid too - it really shows that even with huge responsibilities as the avatar, he deeply just wants to be a kid. We can't wait to see what happens to the gaang while they're under cover in the Fire nation lol.
      Happy Friday, friend! 😊

      @MeeshDeeReacts I like seeing Aang as a kid, too. It really nice shows Aang enjoying life as a kid. Being normal. Not the Avatar who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. And because of himself being a kid. He was able to get through to the Firenation youth. I'm looking forward to you too, with a reaction as team Avatar is continuing to infiltrate Firenation.

    In my opinion Aang was 12 1/2 years old when he came out of the ice berg and possibly turned thirteen in Summer whether before the comet or after the 100 year War who knows. I believe that Katara is 14 1/2 yrs old, Zuko is 16 1/2 years old Sokka is 15 1/2 years old and Toph is obviously the youngest of the group probably 9 1/2 or 10 1/2 years old.

    Im gonna be real with u, if u didnt say that u had changed the lights to red i WOULD NOT have noticed 😅.
    1:19 im afraid thats not a hot take meesh. THAT is what makes Zukos redemption arc literal PERFECTION. Any other show wouldve made him join the gaang at the end of book 2. But not ATLA. The writers know very well how human minds work. Its only after we get what we have wanted and worked so hard for such a long time that we realise that this wasn't what we truly wanted all along.
    This ep is apparently pretty disliked in the fandom ( which i fin very weird). Maybe because its the first non serious ep since the Ba Sing Se arc. Idk 🤷‍♂️.
    This ep is really fun. Who doesn't want to see Aang go to school, say 100 year old slangs, defeat the bully without throwing a single punch, throw a secret dance party, rizz up the bullys gf without even trying and have a dance with his actual girl.
    Something i have noticed as I have rewatched the series, is that Aang loves Firenation (atleast during his era). One of his best friends (kuzon) was FN, Fire was the element he was kind of excited to learn (and he learned to create fire pretty quickly). Because he isnt a big fan of Watertribe food (as we see in the Bato ep) and he never visited Ba Sing se (the cultural centre of Earth Kingdom).
    Which just makes the Airnomad Genocide all the more sad.
    In the jail scene whenever we see Zuko the camera is in an angle where it seems like its Zuko behind the bars meanwhile Iroh looks free.
    "Sapphire Fire, nice to meet you"
    "Im June Pippinpadelopsicopsolus"
    If katara were in a modern world shed definitely be an Actress. Her improv game is immaculate 🤌.
    While Sokka is the absolute 1st when it comes to being a ladies man, Aang is a close 2nd. He went from "so.... papaya." to "Don't worry about them, it's just you and me right now". His growth is quite impressive. 😂😁
    And finally the dance which is called the Kataango. It is such a cute and wholesome dance that it will never not make me Smile 🥰🥰.
    Had a blast watching ur reaction. Happy friday guys 😊☺️.

      Hey Mohammad! Lol we totally were paranoid that someone would say something about our background colors not matching the book theme! I guess we were wrong lol. Aw that's so strange that the fandom disliked this episode... it's so wholesome to us and a good breath of fresh air showing that Aang just wants to be a normal kid too. I also think it was SUPER cute to see him and Katara do their water bending routine as a romantic dance 🥰 or as you call it... Kataango! LOL that is the greatest name.
      Maybe Meesh and I will have to Kataango one day as exclusive content? 🤔🤣
      Happy Friday, friend! Thanks for your constant support, we love interacting with y'all! 🤗

      I wouldn't say she cares for him but i do think she genuinely looked out for him this time. Why? Because she knows that Zuko did help her in the invasion at Ba Sing se. And that he IS strong. Will she throw zuko under the bus if she was in danger? Absolutely.
      But thats how things are in an Abusive family. You dont want the pain so you let the sibling take the fall. Its self-preservation.
