As always friend you make an excellent point!!! It is highly challenging to have a CI and be employed by an academic institution of any sort. I think this may prove true for many professions or places of employment. I would very much like to know of companies that are considerate and accommodating of people with CI! 💜 I hope you are well as you can be! 💜 take care! 💜
@@astoryrewrite2268 yeah .... as a teacher we have to and also are adult enough to feel sympathy and support students .... but as a teacher - with such issues- our job isn’t only to teach but also we are subject to many behaviours in the classroom ...... and online teaching has benefits but created many challenges. Students don’t turn off videos no microphones ... how can I read their faces to know how the class is moving forward ...the stress and uncertainty of these behaviours is tough..... universities have made students feel like you are customer .... unfortunately most young people don’t understand that this is bringing their value down .... and universities also don’t tell students that ur teachers r human too ....
@@astoryrewrite2268 by the way I think academic institutions are worst for mental health ... I used to work in It industry and I had a very good self esteem no anxiety ever... because I knew if I do my job well all will be paid off... but when I moved to full time academia, i felt that my value is based on journal assessment and student assessment - both r not in my hands ...
I can relate to this! 💜 so sorry you are experiencing the same. And so many others in our field! It’s so hard without structure supporting accountability. 💜
hEDS here - thank you so much for sharing this! Such a vital conversation. I so appreciate the effort you put into this. Thank you.
Thank you! 💜 it truly is just a start! There is so much. I hope to start many conversations because there aren’t enough happening! 💜
I feel and see it is much easier to be student than teacher while being with CI. Universities have to support customers..

I’m so sorry this has been a struggle. I do wonder what the answer is. I see what you are describing far too often in our field. 💜
