This is why I don't discuss depression and anxiety with my family and friends who haven't experienced it. People can be very dismissive about what you are going through, especially in the black community.
I only discuss it with those who can relate.

@SimplyTina she was very dismissive. And damn near insinuating that Tamar liked the trauma she was experiencing because she became famous so how could she truly be depressed 🙄. She may be a journalist, but a mental health expert she is not.
@@simplytina5627Definitely disappointed with Tamron on this one! I usually enjoy her interviews. Tamron made me feel very uneasy and then upset by the time the interview ended. She needed to heave her judgement out of it! It is evident Tamron does not understand depression. She was so grossly dismissive of Tamar’s explanations.
Tamar NEVER mourned her marriage. She does what alot of women do. She tried to fake it like she was good and internally she was falling apart. She got from under one man and got under another one; bringing the baggage to the new situation.

Sooo true. I tell young women I know to go sit down and get to know yourself before jumping into another relationship. When one relationship ends, use that down time to refresh and regroup. Get back to you. Don’t go from one to the next. It’s simply not healthy, mentally or physically.

I was like someone else should have done this interview couldn't think of who….but a platform were producers aren't pushing the interviewer to get certain specific details, because then it's not helpful for her or others that need it.

I’m sure I’ll be alone in saying this and probably get a lot of harsh comments but, she should not be on another reality show. After what was shown on the Braxton family show, her show with Vince and the Iyanla show, she needs to say no.

No one should be commenting anything negative. You don’t get to decide how someone shares their emotion. You never know what someone is going through behind closed doors and how they interpret their pain and experiences. We need to show not only Tamar but everyone love. No one is perfect or even close. Understand that and learn to love others. 💚

My heart goes out to her for so many reasons. She has to be utterly and completely honest with herself first. A lot of what she is saying, she is saying out of formality and what she thinks people want to hear (No judgement). Lord allow her to TRULY see herself. She is so worthy of a better inner life.

That was my thought exactly! As an interviewer you have to be comfortable with quiet space. I understand there are time limitations but allow the interviewee time to process your question and answer honestly.

The comments show that nobody really cares for people who have depression. Nobody has empathy for someone who just tried to commit suicide. People heal in stages & over the course of time. Just because Tamar is doing this interview doesn’t mean that she has everything figured out or that she’s gone deep within herself to find the root of the problem. I believe this interview was to speak on what led to her suicide attempt. Y’all want her to take accountability, maybe she hasn’t reached that far in her healing, & that’s fine, send her love so that one day she’ll get to that point. Y’all just bashing her. What we should be focused on & thankful for is the fact that Tamar is still here, alive. That’s the most important thing is that her suicide attempt failed & that she is still here. A lot of y’all put your own judgements on her & to do that to a person who almost committed suicide is sick & disgusting. It lacks compassion & empathy.

I pray that the naysayers will read and comprehend it on a deep level because mental illness is very real and what helps with the healing is love, acceptance and encouragement something that is so lacking with these reality TV shows that are just demonic in that it literally is a platform to tear down, kill, still and destroy only FOR RATINGS and MONEY!

I'm so glad you noticed that..Tamron asked her several questions throughout the interview and she skirted around them! I don't care who gets mad at my opinion but Tamar stood out on her family show which led to her spin off show with Vince, then the music happened which blew her head up more! That's when I noticed she started with the Diva attitude! She criticized all of her sisters relationships and failures...then when her problems with Vincent came out and they divorced..that is when her world crashed!!! She's embarrassed, she's had to eat humble pie and her music is almost nil without Vincent and the guy that passed away. As she said, she treated a lot of people badly on the way up. Now this is her reality!
@@Aliasss She was getting interrupted because she wouldn't answer the questions that was being asked! One thing about Tamron Hall, she stays focused in her interviews and just because a person is a celebrity, she still asks the hard questions! Maybe Tamar should not have done the interview.
@@MsJC-yl1gw - I’m glad you know your comment isn’t a fact 🤷🏽♀️ Tamron asked her “did you abuse him” and she straight up looked Tamron in the eye, and directly responded “NO”. Throughout the entire interview, Tamron would ask her a question and when she tried to respond, Tamron interrupted her with another question. She could barely get a full sentence out. It felt like watching an interrogation. To claim she “skirted around several questions” is a stretch! Especially when she did the best she could with trying to explain herself, instead of being able to fully tell her story.
5:48 is how I know she's being real because she able to be accountable. this wasn't some narcissistic rant in an effort to save her reputation. this woman is looking to be liberated from what fame had made of her. and she's taking responsibility for that. I am proud of tamar. honestly I'm a fan of Tamar the artist. her voice is divine and she sings from a real place, I miss her music

She doesn’t let her talk. It’s more like she’s trying to bash her. She has said she’d gone within and she knows where she may have been wrong but it’s like this host is deliberately trying to bash her in a “poised” and condescending way. How can you get her story not letting her talk and trying to push her to answer how you want and telling her what you think she should do. If your a “friend and want her to get better mom to mom.” Talk to her interpersonally in bonding not pushing and coercing and saying what you “think” because I just want what’s best for you. It was like narcissistic gaslighting “do you really think? Do you really believe that someone would... did that really happen? Allegedly.” and then gaslighting saying “oh no. I truly just want the best for you.” It was not real. It was so off. Let her speak her truth and be patient and understanding I didn’t get that feeling at all.

I agree. I really didn’t like way Tamron did this interview. She started out well but gradually her true colors kept emitting. I literally couldn’t wait for it to be over because she kept cutting Tamar off while she’s trying to talk and I’m like omg let her speak!!! That’s a testament to Tamars growth. She handled all the negative energy very well. I hope the best for Tamar and pray she continues to become who God purposed her to be.

The interview wasnt good because she didnt get to talk much.

I don't understand why Tamar is so shocked and "disgusted" that the network *she* agreed to film her life for money showed what happened in her life. Certainly she didn't think it was free money. Did you watch the whole interview, she clearly explain the network sent her a call sheet literally right after she said she wanted to kill herself and told she she’s being dramatic. Who tf would want to deal with any job like that.

Reality TV is fake. They can make accommodations for these special circumstances all the way up to the showing. And then, you can scrap it. There is an episode of catfish that no longer exists bc the person killed themselves. There's episodes of the bachelorette (on jills season) that have warnings before hand bc members of the cast died. And there are tons of things that are recorded but not added in bc its distasteful. Theres a way you can handle these issues. Its super sensitive.
She didn’t expected the show to spiral out of control to the point that her & her sisters was feuding all the time then she had the show with Vince that showed her marriage was failing They were also fighting all the time allegedly domestic violence was involved and then the divorced I think that was all too much for Tamar
Yep. She's the one that put her family on that network. She's an Executive Producer. All she does is burn bridges. She needs Dr. Phil not an interview!!!! Ugh, I can't even imagine being her sibling. I'd be so damn distant from her volatile behind. She was awful to the ppl on her show, then awful to her sisters too.
She was only nice to her mother! Everyone else was insulted. The girl is the common denominator in all the drama. That's what Iyanla was trying to tell her before she burned that bridge.

You disposed of wanting to make headlines/tears, really showed your support for her as a person and not just us someone who is on your show as a topic for your viewers. Kudos to you!
I was soooo glad when Tamar responded with stating that she is dedicated to “show herself” when Tamron kept saying, “just so us”. No, when people are healing, they don’t have to show anyone anything and don’t owe anyone anything because it’s their journey. Also, if she feels her family is toxic, she has every right to unfollow them so she won’t have triggers. She may have PSTD as well. Why is Tamron insinuating that Tamar should care what others think if she unfollows her family on social media. Tamar is actually anointed and I believe when she completely surrenders her entire life to Jesus Christ, she will be made whole and will continue to help others on their journey to healing. She is certainly on her way because the Word of God is in her!

Yes. I remember her bragging about her relationship in season 1. About how big her house was and she had three cars and a private jet. She can drop stacks and her sisters can't. She became popular from the first season which led to all the other good things that happened for her. But God saw she couldn't handle it and that's when she started to lose. She came from a religious background but got a lil money and forgot the same God that made it possible could take it all away. It's okay to prosper but don't forget where you came from. Her hometown wasn't good enough anymore. I hope she gets better tho

Yes, Tamar was rude and cruel to all of her sister's at various points except Toni. I glad she actually acknowledged it because she typically throws rocks and hides her hand and plays victim. The first step is acknowledging and dealing with bad behaviour. The behaviour is the cause of the breakdown with her family. The trauma is at the root of her behaviour.
She absolutely needs to take time, but tv is how she makes money. She can definitely sing...maybe go to the studio, but that's not free.

She got more than enough money to pay for studio. It doesn't have to be a high expensive studio. Plenty of upcoming artists have less and got it done. She should get into acting.

Tamron is such a great ‘interviewer’ ... well done! Great line of questioning to get a concise interview in order for us the viewers to really ‘hear’ Tamar.

Regardless of what someone may be going through transfer the energy of love. It is very much so needed in this world. Love is the only way we are going to survive.
My heart goes out to her, no one never knows what a person goes through. I contemplated suicide due to a divorce and also abuse and I didn’t let anyone know. I felt down on myself, never thought I was good enough. So I can relate. Praying for healing! Love you Tamar!
This is what a strong woman looks like. A lot of people, including myself, deal with these feelings and attempts. You don't know me and I don't know you but if you're feeling any type of way where you want to hurt yourself, I am here for you and I love you. You matter.

Idk about that Jesus won people by being his authentic self. Loving, caring, stood in his truth. That’s why we follow Jesus because of the story’s of him rebuking sprits, healing the sick being a comforter and a counselor these things needed to be seen so they could be wrote about. It’s vital to walk in ALL your truth . Someone needs you! The real you. They need to see how Tamar is going to walk out of the situation an overcomer . God gets the glory for it all. Period

Why is she doing interviews like this. She’s NOT done the work to heal. Please Tamar go get therapy and work on YOU. This is maddening because it’s like watching a circle of continued train wrecks when it doesn’t have to be like this. TD Jakes and Iyanla tried to help her and her sisters heal but they didn’t take the help and do the work needed to HEAL the hurt. Now here we are. I really hope she takes a break and just go get therapy and do what she needs to do to heal.

Never really comment on here but this interview although respectful, I disliked the approach/tone that the interviewer had. Almost as if she was questioning if Tamar really tried to commit suicide, questioning if Tamar had really gone through abuse, dealing with mental health issues. The whole bit at the end about “show us” that she’s changed- unnecessary. I’ve dealt with depression and PTSD for the last few years and if some one were to come at me like this, I’d just walk away. Obviously this is a tv show, and as an interviewer she has to ask questions but the choice of words and delivery was off. To a person dealing with depression, empathy and support are crucial. Tamar doesn’t need to show ANYONE her healing process, growth and/or willingness to change, only to herself. I pray she finds the peace she needs and is filled with love, true love, that God can provide.
Another thought...I am sure this interview kind of hit home with Tamron....she can't talk to her sister anymore and the Braxtons can. They need to fix it.
I love Tamar! I wish her wellness, peace and reconciliation within her family.
