Everything spells beautiful in respect of this multi talented super star opera suprano/actress. Her beautiful voice worshipped by millions of her followers throughout the world. When she sings You & The Waltz & I you can feel the look of admiration by the pianist Carl Esmond. Rest in peace dear Miss Kathryn Grayson your musical talents will be with us forever & a day.
the two very best MGM sopranos.. Kathryn Grayson and Jane Powell !! This is the first I've ever heard this (I've been a fan of Ms Grayson's since I was 15, I'm now 51) and this is now nearing the top of the my list of all-time favorites from her vast recordings! what a sound, clear, pure, full of that charm she was so famous for all her life, even when she taught... how lucky her voice pupils must have been !
Back in the early fifties when I was a teenager I felt in love with Kathryn - I saw all her films dozens of times - I wish they could be shown now. Greetings from Lima, Peru (Jan 6, 2022)
There are a couple of comments from kerryincolumbus that completely nails it on the head how fabulous this woman's singing really was (and still is because she lives-on in recordings and film)! Thank you kerryincolumbus for putting those words here for all to see, and for saying what I'm sure all of Ms Grayson's fans would say if they were here right now!
+Owella Fehr I'm so happy to hear from you! I posted this, and though it's not been seen by many, I'm so happy to have been the one who uploaded it! Also, I'm grateful for the connection you've made to your Mother, and having seen it on TV! I'm happy, and grateful to my kind friend Ellen who sent me the original clip! Her kindness and elegance know no bounds! Best to you, varadero
Beautiful,, just beautiful. I can't tell you how many times I've played her videos and the joy I've gotten from her angelic voice. A multi faceted talent as well. I only wish I could have seen her perform in person. Thank you for posting this beautiful artist, I've become so intrigued by her voice that I can almost feel as though I'm right there in the audience..of course that wouldn't be possible as I wasn't even born when she made this movie...
barich3353 Hi barich3353, Happy to hear from you! Interesting to note that I was born 3 years after she made this movie, and I still don't use a cane! I'm a huge fan; check out my site. Her voice is so lovely. This is really one of her more obscure, early films. I'm so glad you wrote! Thank you so much! Best wishes, varadero
I agree Norman!! I watched this video 10 times in a row now, and I'm in tears because it's just unbelievably beautiful singing, especially that ending note! It's clearly a voice from Heaven, to be sure!
Thank you! I haven't "cornered the market" on KG's videos, but I've posted more than this. Please look for others on my site, OK? Think this is the one that may have started the trend: ruclips.net/video/TlBYm4WWGs4/видео.html Good things have happened in Brooklyn! Best wishes, varadero
@kerryincolumbus Hi! Think you've hit the nail on the head! I, too am a huge fan of both these ladies. Sadly, Kathryn left us way too soon. Please, if you have time, view some of the other clips I have of these 2 miraculous performers. Happy to year from you, and Happy New Year! Thanks again.
There‘s so much beautiful wistfulness and melancholy in this exquisite song... ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly lovely scene and an adorable Kathryn Grayson... 🌹🌹🌹 Could someone please tell me which movie this is from (not that I think it will be available on DVD in my part of the world...) Thank you so much for posting this delight! 🙏🍀
You're right my friend. Sadly I don't think we'll ever be free of the nightmares that still exist world-wide. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it - George Santayana.
Every single coloratura student should study this video and try with all their might to make their voices as absolutely pure and innocent as Kathryn Grayson does here, with what sounds like total ease and agility! Just pure Heaven that last note of hers, light as air and so pure of tone, makes me cry each and every time i listen to it.
kerryincolumbus Hi again my friend! I'm delighted to hear from you, and hope you're well. This is really a gem by Ms. Grayson! I've never been to Vienna, but hearing this makes me want to visit! Maybe one day! Thanks again for writing, and I agree with your assesment of her voice, and how capable she really was! Best wishes, varadero
Hi kerryincolumbus.. gotta agree with every single word you put here, 100%!! Her voice is that of an angel and most definitely God-given!! and yes, that last note is a heart melter for sure!
Similar atrocities will always take place, mostly because the world, especially those who wish to stop the atrocities, never truly learns the lessons from the previous ones. Those who wish to commit said atrocities always pay very close attention...
Here's the best I can do for now: Soundtracks "You and the Waltz and I" (1942) Music by Walter Jurmann Lyrics Paul Francis Webster The rest is up to you, but thanks for your interest, and for trying for your sister! Wish you both luck!
I'm sorry not to be more familiar with much of his work. This, and his appearance in Sundown, are my only memories of this performer. Perhaps you'll be kind enough to elaborate on your reference of the 1936 Burg Theater in another response? Either way, best regards, and thank you for your comment!
Burg theater is a 1936 Austrian film, Esmond uses his girl friend and a countess to get in to the stage in Vienna.Since he has a small face, a little make up was put on him to make his eyes look bigger. But it looks too silly. It's available in united states and Germany
Hi Mr. Burstein! Thanks for this. I knew very little about him. He was a good actor, and I remember him portraying a villain in a movie called "Sundown." It starred my favorite actress of that time: Gene Tierney. ruclips.net/video/flq8VOmx6i8/видео.html Best to you, and thanks again! Varadero

Simply put, the most beautiful soprano ever produced from Hollywood! The voice of an angel and the face of a goddess!
SHE WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND ONE OF THE BEST SOPRANOS THE MOVIE EVER HAD R.I.P
I'm going through all of her songs here on RUclips multiple times. She was one of a kind. Just exquisite.
Thanks for uploading! I've been searching this song since Max Raabe perform it on online concert during pandemic :) This song is really beautiful
Thanks for writing! So grateful for your comment, and I'm honored that you enjoyed it! Thanks again, Salma Firdaus!
What a gorgeous song. I heard this as my mom was watching this movie on TV. I'm so glad I could find it on RUclips.

Thanks for sharing such a touching song from Miss Grayson....
One can only dream of knowing the beautiful Kathryn.
She has to be the most beautiful soprano with the most beautiful voice to ever walk into a stage or in to a movie studio
I'm the poster, and I love her too! I've posted 13 of her vids here on YT! Please see the others on my channel! Thanks so much!

You're very welcome! Having been born in 1922, she'd have only been 20 year old at this time! She was just beginning her amazing career!
She was brilliant
I love Ms. G also! Please view some other clips I've posted with her on my site! Thank you!
thank you very much!
This is from Seven Sweethearts (1942)!

She is wonderful...Why?
A natural God-given talent, plus she was trained vocally in the old American style, to produce a clear, beautiful, steady sound.
Does anyone know the name of this film...I thought I'd seen all her movies, but this is a new one to me. I just love her.
Кетрин Грейсон можно любоваться без конца.
hi! where can i find the lyrics of this? thanks my sister really love this song :)

Carl Esmond really was a "refugee"(actually an emigrant)from Austria.

Deliziosa Kathryn! La miglior partner di Mario Lanza! I loro duetti sono rimasti celebri nel mondo dei musical della MGM !
Carl Esmond, without all that lipstick and eye shadow and eye brow pencil he wore in Burg theater in 1936
What beautiful legs she's got! What a beautiful voice she's got! And I see, also, I see her like a grandmother...
Love,Chris Puleo
Оххх, хороша!
