    This Episode was one of my favourite coz it touched on so many things I’ve been through and learning from my mistakes I’ve made that are business unethical. I’m 21 Years Old @Kv_Berryc From a tough background. I run my own clothing brand @Berryc_za, Online Sneaker Store And I’m also a Fashion Stylist/Designer. When my businesses started blowing up I got carried away by the money I was receiving which was something I wasn’t used to, and that lead me making unethical business decisions and delivering late to the customers to the point I felt like I’m destroying my brand and I’m creating a bad name for my businesses. And I was forced to self reflect and ask myself where alla this money I’m making is going coz I was actually making a lot of money, but instead of saving it and investing it back to my businesses I started spending it more on the things that don’t grow me or my businesses. And I was still young at that time, I think I went on the business venture when I was 18/19 and I was still more influenced by the lime light and lifestyle I see on Tv, Celebrities and People that have money live and I wanted to live alla that but without me realizing that over spending off my budget. And the hardest mistake we young black entrepreneurs make is that we are so much influenced by the life we see on the Gram and on TV which is actually fake, And end up fucking up our potential growing businesses by trying to live the life we can’t afford or rushing to the life we can’t afford yet. And that’s the lead to the downfall of most black businesses. I’m grateful that I was able to realize my mistakes early and studied the game, And also self reflecting and focusing in things that are important in my life and things that grow me. My advice to all Young aspiring business entrepreneurs, is that study the game, learn from your mistakes, listen, know your goals, don’t over spend on things that are not growing you or helping your business, Be patient, know what you want in life, focus on the things that make you help, don’t do it for the gram or to impress people around you or fans/supporters, Stay True to yourself coz the fake life ain’t worth it, stay humble, And pray to God for Guidance and protection. Entrepreneurship is not as lime as you see it on the Gram, They will never show you their failures and trails and tribulations, you will only see the lime light. Our Generation Suffers a lot with Depression because of the internet and pressure. The key is to Appreciate what you have and be happy coz that’s what all we want in life, Happiness is your number one priority.
    “There’s No Such Thing As Life That’s Better Than Yours So Love Yours”.
    Scoop I really love and appreciate your character and for being so transparent and honest, in this Generation we need more friends and family like that coz that’s true love and loyalty. Let’s Grow Each Other As Black People And Lets Also Support And Help Each Other. Thank You 🙏🏽

    We are all not honest with each other. We always want to capitalise on grey areas.It's all about how you move. Vigi is right in settin invoices and expectations but lets do it in due time because some of us approach suppliers late. How do they prepare for such a huge grey area. Be upset or disappointed but dont make the same mistake twice. But that's your lesson to be learnt and only then you know the loop hole that got you so next time cover your ass. We all make these mistakes from different angles, trying to reach the same goal. The best advice is Do it All, Do it Fast and Learn More. Oh Great Show! Can we also manage the lengths of the show, it's really dope. Just sucks when you drop an 8 minute episode. The show's over before my joint is.

    I'm a 21 year old Creative who runs a production house (Crew 5 Productions) which specializes in photography,video content as well as graphic design. The one thing I fight for which every client I get is that the quality of service is up to par but more often than not, getting a chance to work with people who are in the game is tricky because they either never listen or they give the run around. How does one actually get a chance to prove themselves as a worthy service provider to you guys practically?

    As cliche as it may sound. Not all black suppliers under deliver. Some do deliver, even beyond expectations.
    1. When it comes to late payments, as a client you need to communicate ahead with your supplier. Also, if you're not going to pay 100% upfront, try to pay a deposit.
    2. Contracts are important. If a supplier/client isn't willing to sign a contract, don't do it.
    3. Do your due diligence, regardless of black/white supplier, do research and find out what projects they've worked on before giving them work.
    4. Business before friendships. At the end of the day, it's your reputation on the line.

    I'm just trying my luck hoping you guys will do a podcast on this. I'm a hip hop artist, according to people I'm talented, I'm confident about that coz I only ask opinions from strangers, my question is what steps should an artist take to make it in the game. I'm financially stable, not bawling but I'm good financially, I have a car so transport for going to shows is not a problem. I'm just trying to give ya'll a clear picture of my situation. Now I have songs I have but have not put out coz I dont know where to start, yes I can post on social media but last time I did I got little to no reaction and that can make you feel like you doing something wrong at times. I just need some advice on what exactly should I do to get into the game, how I should use money to better my chances of being known. I know alot of artists in the hood have this same question and I've checked videos on RUclips. This topic has never really been spoken about by people who are really in the game.

    My question is about artists who cannot produce on thier own and need assistance with beats/ mastering etc. Sometimes they get to find it difficult to covey thier ideas in studio because the producers end up controlling everything on set. Can you share personal experiences with this and how such young dreamers can end up retaining the freedom of directing thier own work.

  • @SoupLorrd
    @SoupLorrd 5 лет назад

    The mistake we constantly make when operating business as black people is enforcing this sense of emotional obligation that abuses the business ethic and perpetuates unprofessionalism. Also, lack of long term and sustainable goals breeds the need for instant gratification which further abuses the relationship between the consumer and the business. We need to really learn how to conduct ourselves in these fields because many relationships and businesses fail before they even take off.

    In what ways can an independent artist juggle a 9 to 5 and keep up the hours an effort in executing a tight knit production. Emotionally and physically, how can one balance life out? Can you give examples with yourselves, whether it be diets, spiritual and emotional wellness routines... Because this pursuit ultimately drives us to our deaths, how do you appropriate your hunger for you not to self implode in your own greed for success. Let's not point fingers, just talk about yourself. Thanks
