A fine review! I can't add much but those little tank 0-6-0's wouldn't have had marker lights anyway as they weren't intended for mainline use. In the old days you'd have seen them in industrial, warehouse, and waterfront districts handling boxcar deliveries where mainline engines couldn't go due to clearance and track curvature restrictions. In fact, the Thomas The Tank Engine at the Strasburg RR is a former Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal engine that was used on the Brooklyn NY waterfront for the above reasons and believe it or not BEDT used steam tank engines as late as 1960! Those amazing craftsmen at Strasburg did a great job making a Thomas out of it! And I've been told that little Lionel's a great puller irregardless of it's size. Thanks for posting!
I'm new to trains, but this looks very similar to the USAT Docksider I just picked up as my first train. I'm planning to build a shelf layout in my log home right after the holidays.. and the train will circle our great room. Should look pretty cool when I'm done.
I have the same engine. I like the model a lot, but I find the whistle to be too shrill for me. I’ve tried changing the pitch to no avail. I now run it with the volume off. Great videos. Keep it up!
I got mine a few years ago in an earlier run 239 $ for a command engine These little guys are great I actually pulled 15 Atlas cars with ease One drawback to this model is a small electric footprint You must gun it through switches.Besides that it is a winner
nice engine but like most lion chief steam engine the sound sucks that why I have an older one they give you a great bell and whistle with crew talk all that and they still give us a crappy steam sound
To see the opposite of this here is the BIG BOY REVIEW!

Thanks Wayne!! I was thinking the same about those marker lights. I’m glad Lionel used the warm white LEDS I the headlights.
@@realtoytrains Definately, the bluish LED's just don't look right on anything.
I'm glad you did this review...well done ! I've had my eye on one...time to call Charlie Ro. 👍👍👍
We’ll worth it my friend!!
Cute little switcher there.
Thanks for watching!

That’s awesome! Will the room have a wood stove or fireplace??

Yes I agree the whistle is much too loud. It’s louder than the rest of the sounds also. I wonder if Lionel will ever do a legacy version?
Thanks 😊
