The funny thing is they aren't even trying to tear apart families. What no one wants to address is how many adult males are traveling with minors who aren't their children. Their stupid policies separated families long before anyone in law enforcement comes in contact with them.
Your comment reminded me of a crazy fact I learned the other day. Ya ever see those old, old immigrant photos of families with like 15 children? Apparently, a lot of those children weren't biological to that couple. When America was accepting mass immigration early on, there would be one or two families that would go -- and they would adopt a lot of their extended family along with them, and just pretend they were also their kids. When I was learning about family history and family trees I came across this. It's why a lot of family trees aren't always super accurate, because a lot of the people who were considered children of specific parents weren't really their children, but it was just easier to immigrate them in that way.
The forest was shrinking but the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood he was one of them.

Not exactly, he doesn't respect the position that he must take because his side is in a superior position, while his opposition can't apply much pressure without generating controversy. The rest is the same, it's like asking people on the street the most random question for a video, probably even if they know the answer, their mind won't know how to order the idea because their thoughts were on another problem, like food, work, taxes, etc. Because of the camera, the possibility of being treated as if they are ignorant of basic questions can lead to them not even being able to give the answer they wanted. The same strategy as Kirk, who basically knows less than you on a topic, he will use some subtopic that you have mentioned to him, where he is in a superior position of knowledge. And since you are on a public podium, the surrounding pressure will always pull more in his favor. It is a tactic that is used in certain areas such as laws, interrogations and consultations with health professionals, to try to corner the person. I have an uncle who works in an area something like "destabilization of young and vulnerable minds" (I'm not joking, something like that is what his area is called). The goal is to bring together enough people under one idea so that it creates an opposition that is sufficiently striking to dissidents, who will probably be more neutral and seek to avoid conflict. Therefore, one side will always have a greater presence by numbers, even if their intrinsic power is the same. It doesn't mean that there are more of them, it means that they are more willing to lend themselves to something. These kinds of things, although popular, are not very well known because, first of all, many are based on pseudoscience(which has roots in more established fields such as psychology, data science or fashion). "Congress’s determination that place of entry not be disqualifying to an application for asylum is consistent with the treaty obligations underlying §1158’s asylum provisions. Congress enacted the Refugee Act of 1980, including 8 U.S.C. §1158, “to bring United States refugee law into conformance with the 1967 United Nations Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees, 19 U.S.T. 6223, T.I.A.S. Like, if your son was born on US soil and got his citizenship, but the parents are there illegally, then they'll either have to take their son along back to their country of origin or leave him in the hands of relatives. It sounds cold, but it's what the people voted for. And honestly, it's a better solution than the wishy-washy approach of turning a blind eye to illegal immigration without even bothering to adjust the law. If you're going to turn a blind eye anyways, then why not change the law to reflect the state of affairs and take better care of them? The democrats had every chance to improve the state of affairs, and the Republicans don't care to untie this Gordian Knot, when they can simply cut it in one go by applying US law as intended. The "Cobra effect". Good intentions have led to so many disasters. Look at the secondary effects of any policy.

First, that's a "government" estimate, which means that the ink pens used by ICE agents are made of government-approved titanium and have white rhinoceros blood for ink or something. Where a toilet seat is "estimated" to cost 2500$.
Second, I'm assuming they are factoring in the cost of manpower and labor to chase down, round up, and transport these people back to wherever they came from. Knowing "the government", I'm assuming that the bureaucrats are going to try to fly them back.
Third, I'm going to assume that that estimate also has something set aside for the inevitable deluge of lawsuits from every Human Rights organization and lobby-group from every nation involved. Keep in mind that a lot of the leaders of these third world shitholes LIKE sending their surplus of angry, military-age males here because it keeps them from causing trouble in their home country's, especially if that surplus comes from their criminal groups or other groups that would likely try to do something like, say, "replace" that leader, third-world shithole-style. Everyone from the wanna-be king of Westfukistan to the International Court of the Very Very Concerned And Butthurt all the way to the Non-Partisan Council For Representation of Whatever Ethnic Group You Might Be This Week will be filing lawsuits in every court they can get to look at the affidavits, to jam this up as much as possible.
Right? Can't they pack about 500 people onto a military transport for the price of a tank of jet fuel? Easy peasy. And we have plenty of ships we can fill up and run back and forth.
Legal costs. To get someone deported they have to stand trial and be verified that they are, indeed an illegal. Lawyers and judges negotiate their tariffs well.
Still cheaper than the direct and indirect costs of keeping them in illegally.
Wow 💀 It’s interesting a majority of people don’t know how any economical issues work, they just listen to statements but don’t know the cost and labor of doing so. It’s like the same with abortion, no one cares about the other person’s unborn fetus but they want them born into the world and in the end that may mean more children put up for adoption, aka more taxes to fund them. I have an uncle who works in an area something like "destabilization of young and vulnerable minds" (I'm not joking, something like that is what his area is called). @Ginkrepeerc_ To the insane and spoiled children, reasonable sounds extreme.
East Bay Sanctuary vs Trump. Page 21 of the federal courts decision when they reversed Trumps policy of separating children from asylum seekers who crossed the border between check points. No. 6577, to which the United States acceded in 1968.” Because the Protocol is not “self-executing,” it “does not have the force of law in American courts.” Khan v. Holder, 584 F.3d 773, 783 (9th Cir. 2009). Nonetheless, it provides “a useful guide in determining congressional intent in enacting the Refugee Act.” Id.(citation omitted); see also Cardoza-Fonseca, 480 U.S. at 436-37.Of particular relevance here, Article 31of the Protocol provides: The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of [A]rticle 1, enter or are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence.19 U.S.T. at 6275 (emphasis added).Considering the text and structure of the statute, as well as the interpretive guide of the U.N. Protocol, reveals Congress’s unambiguous intent. The failure to comply with entry requirements such as arriving at a designated port of entry should bear little, if any, weight in the asylum process. The Rule reaches the opposite result by adopting a categorical bar based solely “[a]n alien present in the United States who has not been admitted or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters) shall be deemed for purposes of this chapter an applicant for admission.” Inadmissible aliens are generally placed in full removal proceedings"

That is very very true. In general, if one wants to find a good approach of how to handle any problem in politics, one just has to look how other countries do it. Some fuck up, some have great systems for sth specific. Imo this is used way too little. Drug problems? Okay, which country handles it well? How do they do it? Can we implement this in our country? What would be the difference?
Illegal immigration, which countries handle it poorly? What exactly is the problem? How do others handle it well? For example Australia. They often get the spotlight for good laws in that concern. How do they do it?

If you stay in the US because you have the green card but your family doesn't, then that's on you.
They're putting the moral responsibility of keeping families whole back into the hands of individuals, rather than the government.
The democrats even tried to argue that immigration shouldn't be cracked down upon because of cheap (illegally employed) labor. Like it's a good thing to pressure desperate people into working below minimum wage with under the table deals at the threat of reporting them to authorities. Still there is an arguemnt for economy. I guess to that one you would need to provide some data to back it up. Considering the expenses in terms of housing and other services. That should also include payment for extra crime fighting that was raised by some and so on.
And there would be other things that exist but cannot be properly measured. For example legal job immigrants with options may not choose US if the said person sees it as unsafe. This would make add negative value to equation but no real method of measuring that.

A person in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1325 can be charged criminally. Here’s the breakdown of potential charges:
Misdemeanor for first-time illegal entry or attempt to enter without authorization.
Felony for those who re-enter the U.S. after being deported or removed, and the penalties are more severe.
As for those overstaying a visa it is not considered a criminal offence, rather a civil violation. Criminal charges may apply in cases involving fraud or failure to depart after a removal order, but these situations are less common
This is what people don't understand. America is super lax on people... For the first time. Which I agree with. But if you get a second chance, and if you blow it, then you should get the heel.
