In 30yrs NHS I have NEVER heard of a staff member searching for families on social media! Its simply accepted that you care for your pt. adult or paed & then, that's your part in their care - finished! The Consultant might tell us a few weeks later "Do you remember pt "a" who was touch & go? We actually, succeeded & now they're doing really well - thankyou team!" But, we would never investigate independently! Thats a "red light" to me! Seriously WTF?

Medical professionals can also be called to give expert testimony. Peers in the legal context refer to the common man & woman.

Lucy - asked to change shift ? Could this have been “engineered” to get Lucy to work when there was a possibility that a given Baby might fail - thus, making it look like Lucy was responsible ? Could this be a factor in the “let’s denigrate and smear Lucy” theory camp. Lucy was NOT universally liked - I think we can accept this as a given - yes, even among her peers - and the post - conviction interviews with some of Lucy’s colleagues lends credibility to this. Lucy : 🐱🙂🌈⭐️💖♥️☀️🍷🌺

I have found the British press coverage very thin on the ground, and I think it’s probably due to court orders of what can be published in the UK. There is an American you tuber who has done at least 3 deep dive videos where she has gone through the time lines and pieced together evidence of parents and staff and medical experts. Puts everything into perspective.

@@420candle8 Thankyou, 420 Candle. I've just listened to her first episode and she came over as much clearer than these podcasts. An eloquent speaker who was able to follow a timeline rather than the presentation of evidence which seems a bit haphazard which these reporters had to follow. Different approaches but equally compelling.

No. Because some of the babies were harmed in ways unrelated to medical interventions, so can't be dismissed as negligence or accidental.

Where’s all the women calling for background checks on nurses and doctors. Where’s all the protesters and people complaining. Suppose it’s only male police officers that are bad. Don’t hear anyone saying they don’t feel safe leaving their baby alone with a nurse.

A background check in this situation would have given no warning. A psychological evaluation, on the other hand!
As for ur police argument. It's just not relevant to this.

I don't feel safe leaving a baby alone with strangers, this just magnifies that feeling. Background checks are meaningless. She'd have passed every check until she was charged. And there are already systems to revoke the licenses of nurses who commit crimes.

An enhanced background check will show clear if there are no convictions so people can commit offences for years and not until they are caught and convicted will there be anything to show….it would valuable to check if the death rate reduced when she left previous jobs…

The fact she's a woman is why the media aren't demanding background checks, scapegoating all women, demanding new gender biased laws and even demanding female only curfews like they did for men after the killer copper.
