A much better and well received strategy compared to having an ex-animator make a subpar parody song about big the cat. Big and Sonic deserved better than that.

Lancelot was always known as an alternate version of Shadow that never experienced everything our Shadow experienced. Same goes for Gawain (Knuckles) and Percival (Blaze)
Plus the Blacksmith (Tails) and the Lady of the Lake (Amy). And the variations in Secret Rings, with Ali Baba (also Tails), Sinbad (also Knuckles), that one king (Eggman. Kinda surprised he never appeared in the next SB game, but it makes a bit of sense as well considering Tails took the Blacksmith spot). I know it's a little obvious, but I just wanted to mention it :)

Remember in the book series (secret rings and black knight) the characters sonic meets are not his ACTUAL friends, they're the characters from their respective stories (Aladdin and King Author respectively) that just happen to take the form of sonic's friends (sonic has mistaken them to be his friends in both games only to immediately been told he's wrong).

All the GUN Soldiers playing Typing of the Dead to avoid using guns was freaking hilarious! And then Shadow had the OmoChao gun! XD Not to mention we got Emerl AGAIN, Rivals and SECRET RINGS MULTIPLAYER, and they even referenced the Sumo Digital spin offs like Tennis and Team Racing. The fact this is an official trailer is just beautiful because it is so chaotic but so perfect.
I love the detail of the G.U.N. agents not using firearms in the ARK raid, but the Typing of the Dead backpacks. A clever reference to a previous animation AND another Dreamcast title.
Yeah, it's amazing that companies like SEGA are so open to letting fan animations be part of their media. Think they obviously had to trade out the guns for keyboards and the like, but still giving Terminal Montage this kind of opportunity is just such a massive win for the franchise.
The fact Sega got TM to make a something about Shadow the Hedgehog animation and got him to collab with marketing on SXSGens really makes me happy and proud for how much ambition Sega is delivering on for this game! :D

Maybe you could make a vid on this but two things: 1. Sonic Battle canonically after Shadow ‘05?? 2. Is the Shadow in Shadow Generations from a post-Frontiers part of the timeline??? Evidence for point 2: Chaos Island (obviously) and Classic Sonic represents past and Modern Sonic represents present. The speedrunning through Shadow’s journey brings us all the way through to Forces and Murder of Sonic…and the Time Eater technically controls all time.
Technically Both Generations is Post Colours and since White Space is able to transcend through Future,It makes sense that Sunset Heights and Chaos Island exist even though Shadow never been to Chaos Island and Hasn’t been to Sunset Heights yet
