Dahlia is a poisonous flower. I feel like it is kind of a metaphor for falling for/being attracted to something or someone so pretty, but it's dangerous. I feel like this is a forbidden love type of song again, like Oh My God. Especially with the line "No matter what they say, i'll choose to love you anyway" and the line in oh my god "no matter what they say, fall in love" A love that people don't approve of. This feels like a continuation to me, only Minnie wrote this and Soyeon wrote Oh My God. As a girl in the lgbt community, I can relate heavily to this type of message, whether that angle is intended or not. :)
I actually agree with your opinions on this album. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't my preferred style of music. My advice for you since you're going to continue listening to their music is to not go into any songs with any expectations. I had to do that with (g)Idle and I'm very glad I did. I love most of their songs and I wasn't sure if I was going to when I first started listening to them. I struggled to like their music at first because I had such high expectations after Oh My God and Lion. But once I let go of those expectations and I went in with as much of an open mindset as I could, I started not only loving their music but I started loving the members as individual people as well. They are an amazing group and I'm excited to follow you on your journey of discovering them.
Truly agree. When g idle first drop hwaa, i dont like it at first listen because of my high expectation that they will produce something similar to OMG. However, after i let the expectation go i love hwaa and the album so much. It totally grows on you.
I think that this album is one that will grow on you, you aren't blown away with it at first but you will think about it again later and go back to these songs. They are addictive.

I like this album more than Lion. I Burn involve real Korean feeling and music style using traditional Korean music scale especially in Hann and Hwaa. This impact me more. Further, other songs keep the atmosphere of album story. Very balanced album I Burn is.

I think when people said I burn is dark, they mostly mean the 'sad' kind of dark that you get after a breakup which is the album's concept is all about. For 'dark' kind of dark, then I trust is probably what you want to go for (the album includes both Oh my god and LION as well as other songs).

Gidle is really versatile, so it'll be hard to find another song similar to lion cause they don't do same concept twice. Listen to their other songs, with open mind of course and you'll find gems. And dahlia relates a lot to the meaning of the flower dahlia, Minnie studied flower to write dahlia.

I know you didn't really like the album but I think thats because you went into it thinking it might sound like lion. First lion is not a bside it was made for the show queendom and has its own MV. Second the thing with g-idle is that their sound is always changing and do not follow what other kpop groups do. When you listen to g-idle songs you will be thinking to yourself wow only g-idle can make a song like this. I hope you give g-idle more chances because they do have great song if you go in without any expectation and listen to the song like 5 times cause they grow on you. It's ok if the songs haven't grown into you yet as we have different music tastes. (G)-IDLE have wide discography and they're not confined in one concept or style. Personally, I like this album because it's melancholic, artistic and they're able to flex their vocals with minimal instrumentals. Their EPs, "I AM" and "I MADE" have more upbeat songs with fierce rapping, it's their most mainstream EPs (tho I don't like saying it's actually mainstream kpop but it's the closest). It's very enjoyable to listen to and you can easily vibe with it. For this album, I think of it more as an art and not just a song. It's interesting to see that people have different opinions and tastes, as expected, because (G)-IDLE themselves have different types of music. I doubt they'll make another song like Lion because they like to experiment a lot lol

I bet dude went in expecting a "type of sound" idle doesn´t do that they made it cristal clear with the difference between "OH MY GOD" and "DUMDI DUMDI" (you reacted to both) and if i remember correctly both quite didn´t hit the mark for you,so maybe the group does not fit your colors,and that´s totally normal,you can move on to groups that are more enjoyable to listen and suits your taste.
