Hai, Im Uncle Shu Channel from Sarawak Malaysia. Thank you for visiting our country. Hopefully you enjoy and happy stay in our country. Done support your channel 👍🏻
That's not in Putrajaya. From your video, it looks like you stayed in Cyber Heights, which is a quiet area in Cyberjaya. Putrajaya is different; it's great if you enjoy outdoor activities, hunting for food, night markets, and shopping in one of the biggest malls in the world. Putrajaya is easy to walk around because it has lots of paths for walking and cycling. You don't need a car to get around Putrajaya because there are many public transportation options like trains, buses, and even water taxis. You can go almost anywhere in Putrajaya using these options, even in residential areas.
Well, not all have the same taste and experience different things. Last year (2023), Malaysia recorded the presence of more tourists from Thailand, a country that is said to have various advantages such as cheap alcohol, free sex and the right to smoke marijuana in public places. While Malaysia's advantage is its variety of religions, cultures and cuisines with the slogan Malaysia is truly Asian. Putrajaya was not built as a commercial city like Kuala Lumpur because of that you don't find car outlets, car workshops, scholl, mall, shops, florists, bank towers and others. It is more of an administrative city and isolated from Kuala Lumpur to maintain the population and road awareness. Most of the cafes, restaurant and mini markets are in the Ministry building😮 For the commercial center you can find in the outskirts of Putrajaya where there is the largest Mall in Southeast Asia which is Ioi City Mall, shops and others. The privacy of Putrajaya is the same as in Washington, Canberra or any city built for the sole purpose of administration.According to data, the population of Putrajaya is 1 million people.
Putrajaya is such a wonderful new city in Malaysia. Next time you guys can consider the option of renting scooter or bicycle to explore more of Putrajaya.
Its a waste of public money as its hot outside and local do not walk under the heat. Average 39 celcious.Apart from heat there is also thunderstorm with lightning that can struck.people to death. the weather can change in a minutes. If Malaysia located at a four seasons area then its will be a different story. Money goes to many subsidies that goes to the citizen i.e one of the cheapest petrol price in the world, free education until 17 years old, subsidy for universities, free healthcare to local and even subsidy to pets healtcare, monthly allowances to the low income families etc. if money be used to build a walkway at the area where local do not use it, they have to give justification as people want to know why. You will find walkway is not a nornal thing in all countries in south east asia. Singapore is a different story as it is just a city state with a lot of money. Even that singaporean are not crazy enough to walk from one area to another more than km.they used MRT. I though people who travel a lot can know a different why certain countries have this and that and why there are some whose not.
Oh wow, interesting. Everywhere is different and that's okay with us, gotta go somewhere to really see if you like it or not. Always learning and can't know everything, that's part of the beauty of the comment section, so we can be better educated! Thanks for the comprehensive comment!
Putrajaya is an administrative centre. It's a city for the bureaucrats. And Yes, town planning in Malaysia is woeful. IHMO they need to plant more trees to provide more shades.
4:00 Prior to the FORMATION of the federation of Malaysia, there were negotiations done between the countries that were supposed to be part of the federation of Malaysia - federation of Malaya, Singapore, Sabah & Sarawak and Brunei. It's called the IGC (Inter-GOVERNMENTS Committee) meetings. That was AFTER the result of the Cobbold Commission. Whatever was agreed upon in order to form the federation of Malaysia was put in the Malaysia Agreement 1963... but Brunei decided not to be a part of Malaysia and Singapore left in 1965. Immigration autonomy is one of the rights of Sabah & Sarawak as agreed upon.
Sarawak has its own Immigration authority therefore even Malaysians from the Peninsula requires to go through immigration upon entering and exiting Sarawak
To put it in simplest terms, the Federation of Malaysia consists of 3 regions: Peninsular Msia, Sabah and Sarawak (it used to be 4 until Singapore left in 1965). As part of the deal to join together, Sabah and Sarawak, which back then were way far behind in terms of development and political power (and still are), concessions were given like full autonomy on immigration, education, healthcare etc to avoid neo-colonialism by sheer force of federal parliamentary majority, although changes were still imposed on the 2 eastern regions in varying degrees (but that’s a whole other can of worms). It’s also why Sabah and Sarawak has their own ministerial cabinets vs the states that make up Peninsular Malaysia. Looks like you had a chill time in Borneo. And yes, Putrajaya is much like Canberra although it seems like the local authorities are only recently trying out tram hybrids. Cheers!
Putrajaya suck because you been staying at the wrong area of Putrajaya and of course Putrajaya a bit boring. Surprisingly you didn't go to Sabah and East Coast of Peninsular, maybe on your next trip.
It was indeed, it was recommended to us by some friends. It looks beautiful but things to do? At the end of the day we were only there for a day so didn't see all of it.
@@franclyspeaking dam! Sorry to hear that! Not a fan of KL either? Was planning on splitting our time between, hua hin, da nang, siem reap and KL on a revolving basis really…. Was just gonna be hua hin but visa and taxes seem to be causing havoc with our planning. What’s your intentions longer term? Keep travelling or settle back home?
@kohtime not at all. But that’s just us. We’re keen to see Vietnam and Siem reap is a dream for us. Easy as visas to get in Cambodia too which is always a bonus for us expats. Gonna keep travelling but perhaps setting up a semi permanent base in Cambodia. Going to explore this beautiful country more and see which place resonates with us the most.
Guys, sorry that it didn't have all the amenities, but i agree with you as well. I'm glad you have made this vlog so others know not to make the same mistake. Thanks for your input👍🙏🙏🙏

What? You staying in residential area instead of commercial? We have a lot of apartment attached to mall. You just pick the wrong property.

Thank you! Had it about 20 years! Still going strong!
They are walkable. I walked from Cyber to Putrajaya :) It's 40 minutes
Interesting! We didn't get to see the whole area, but parts we did see were pretty un walkable.

Thank you for the info! It did feel kinda like a different country and we liked that a lot!
You are welcome to come back to Sarawak....thank you hope you enjoy your stay in Sarawak
Thank You very much. Sarawak was by far our greatest place visited in Malaysia. Love what you're doing over there! ❤️

Sarawak was British Crown Colony in 1946-1963
Cool video kids 👌 - Airports are always a buzz - it’s nearly over 🤩 - Thanks 🙏
So close! haha

WHAT TO DO... THEY ARE A LOW BUDGET BACKPACKERS WITH A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. 😂
😂😂
You need to travel more to appreciate other countries and cultures. What I see here is a lack of exposure.
We will definitely be back to Borneo to explore more!
Leaving your own part of the world, things change definitely but than that's the best part of it as travellers from my opinion.
You guys seem a little fed up there… seems franc is a fan of siem reap tho so happy days ur heading back 😊
100% we were both suffering from stomach issues and weren’t fans of the mainland. Borneo though 👌👌👌
Siem Reap is a great place for us!

You don't seem to happy there, hope your enjoying Cambodia and vietna
What a beautiful space wasted by the lack of walkways and pathways. Seems to be a bit of an oversight.
Really could have been something great. But I do think the dropped the ball on it pretty hard!
We loved Borneo so much! ❤️🫶
All in all...comparing with Thailand ...kind of boring.
Good riddance and go back home to these 2 shit people!!!!
Putrajaya is a very boring Car-centric city. You can't walk around without melting under the scorching sun.
Indeed it is. For sure it's hot, but other countries in SEA are similar temps and still have the walkability.
As usual can always rely on Malays to come up with all kinds of stupid reasons to cover their planning failure.
haven't watched the malaysia series. looked like s from the start. Looking forward to the fire in Siam Reap.
Yea a bit like that haha, Siem Reap is lit!
I don't think Malaysia is for me
Get lost we don't need you....bad mouth.
Yup, I think so too... there are 33 million people live in Malaysia. We don't need more. One more of you is practically non existence. Just stay away.
Borneo could be a good shout though....
It's true
