The very first heat the soul game reminds me of the first clash of ninja game where it had a small roster of characters, except CON only had one more than HTS which isn't saying much.
Eighting was kinda releasing the Clash of Ninja/Gekitō Ninja Taisen games at the same rate, though that saw a transition to Wii. 8 games from 2003 to 2010. And even though they didn't release every year one after the other, some of them released twice in the same year. They had some crazy development feats.
long time watcher first time commenter, if you like clash of ninja and bleach heat the soul you might like Kamen Rider's Climax Heroes fighters on the system. Wizard uses a different engine but games like W, OOO, and Forze use a similar engine to CON/HTS edit: maybe HTS7 has a 60fps patch?
I looked up some gameplay and it looks sick! Toriyama is a fan of Kamen Rider and even based Goku Black on Kamen Rider Black so I've got a good excuse to do a video on some Kamen Rider games 😂
@@GoldenPSP In case you hop in, I'm gonna tell you some cool things: Usually the games are named after the currently released rider. In each of those games, each one has an exclusive hidden character. Like as an example, OOO's (pronounced Ozu) game had a hidden W (pronounced double / dabaru) where W Xtreme uses Accel instead of Joker. Each super meter has its own ability, my personal favorite is the ones that let you activate the transform gimmicks, like W's drivers or OOO's coins Chou Climax Heroes (Wizard's game) controls very differently, also, You get an eight way run
I bought a PSP just to import one of the Heat the Soul games back in the day when I was at peak Bleach fandom levels. Wish I could remember which version it was now... Probably 6.
eighting was recycling combos on those games like the first hipster that found out saving the planet was cool …. but so was cyberconnect 2 with the storm games
I'd assume that the answer to why the DS games were localised but the PSP games weren't is because the DS was so much more popular in the west than the PSP is, whereas the PSP was insanely popular in Japan, especially among the otaku crowds. There is a long list of anime based games on the PSP that never got localised and were PSP exclusive.
also the PSP was VERY rampant to piracy, given how super easy it was to softmod your PSP system to get free games vs buying a whole separate device from a shady 3rd party seller just to be able to play free Nintendo DS games in comparison.
There’s a fan English patch for heat the soul 7. Never tried it so I can’t comment but there’s that. Reason some games got localized and some didn’t is cause some were published by sega and some were by Sony and I guess sega were more open to trying out English release. Obviously didn’t work out though since they stopped. Sony did license the ps3 game though. Last console game bleach got for 14 years.
Some of these PSP games were localized in Chinese and i was able to play some of them. Earlier entries were not localized in chinese and released in Hong Kong and Taiwan as is
@@GoldenPSP it's been so long since I played these. I don't really remember them. The first game was always memorable for me. Practically a psp launch title. @@jeremyhall2727you know how rare it was to get dlc in 2005? I’m not even sure dlc existed when these games were coming out. Only the last heat the soul got dlc. It was shuren from the hell movie.

I`m a big Bleach fan but the games were never that great tbh. The only one that I actually enjoyed was Bleach Versus Crusade for the Wii, which was a third person fighting game so it felt the closest to the anime battles. It was pretty satisfying to use attacks like getsuga tensho, transform mid battle, and it even had a 4 players mode as well which was pretty cool.
A lot of fighting games aren't fan translated compared to RPG games. Will, and if you saw the tv series.. you already know what's happening. Or no one has the passion to do it
Why is the Heat the Soul series a Japanese-only PSP exclusive?! Would've been amazing on PS2 and PS3 ports and sold well in the US, but Sony loves doing Sony things as usual...
@@yw3178 I mentioned them towards the end of the video, but I wanted to do a separate video on them since they're very different from the Heat the Soul games
7:52 man you're crazy 😧 I want all the fighters from the show & movies. They all had their personal fighting style. You're emulating, just force it to play at 60fps. I like part 6 & 7 the most.
Ichigo even got a ps5 in the new anime

If they were truly greedy they would've localized one of these games for North America 😤😤😤
They could've just added them as dlc like how DBZ xeno did. Will 🤷🏾♀️ for part 1-3.
