I am over here planting clover in my lawn because it stays green in the summer, because its a legume it provides nitrogen back in the soil, it stays lower for less mowing, and the bees love it.
You're not stupid. You learn from mistakes in anything you do! That way you can say, been there, done that and now I know. Plus you should know you don't get in a hurry when operating any equipment, whether on the farm, construction site or the back yard. I enjoy your input on most everything you do.
Maybe a little feedback for MistrSpray... I think it might help if the parking stand posts were height adjustable, or could be flipped over to get them up out of the way, especially with the limited lift height of the 3PH on a sub-compact tractor.
"Maybe YOU won't look stupid because you've seen my mistake and learned from me." That's great, Tim. Love your channel and I AM learning a lot from you. Thank you!
Thanks Tim! Another great video! Teejet is great to work with. I wanted to set my sprayer up so that the effective spray pattern was the same distance as my wheel tracks. I made a call to Teejet, they asked me 3-4 questions and then told me how high off the ground my boom needed to be to create the correct spray coverage. They were awesome!!
I like the dandelions and the clover. Why? Dandelions are edible and are pretty flowers to look at. Clover is a nitrogen fixer for your lawn or your pasture, is good food for animals and has pretty white flowers, and also has other benefits for your lawn or pasture. A very informative video. Thanks for sharing!
There are some excellent ceramic even spray nozzles that will allow about a 30ft path with surprisingly low drift. I have broken so many booms over the years, I went boomless.
There are some guidance systems on the market that do not cost a lot more than foam markers. You can move them to the tractor you want to use, set your implement or boom width and they tell you your ground speed and keep you on line. A lot less trouble than foam.
Thanks for sharing the temp info. 190 seems high for the ambient temp (looked like a nice day!), however the hills, high RPM/High gear and PTO, with a lower ground speed and with a heavy tractor doesn't seem unreasonable. There are soo many variables to keep track of!
I have a 40 gallon electric pump sprayer. I don't have to worry of the pto pump rusting shut. And with electric pump, the switch is on my right fender of my Kubota. Turns on & off easily, saves fuel, and is easy to use. 10 ft boom is good for the use it gets. Plus a 25ft hose and spray wand. And better speed control without worrying about hitting things in close quarter spraying.
I agree with you. I have the same setup on a skid sprayer made by Schaben, the same brand that makes ag sprayers. About 1/4 the cost and complexity of Tim's setup. I put it on the back of my Can-Am utv and have a wire running from the electric pump to a rocker switch on my dash. I can watch the MPH on my dash. 3 MPH seems perfect, I can see the outside right and left jets in my outside rear view mirrors. So easy. Plus, with the 10 foot boom its so easy to judge your tracking by looking at your previous run's tire tracks. I could never use a setup like Tim's. Too awkward to use unless all you had to spray was football fields.
Expensive foamers are for field work. Get yourself some spray indicator, Tractor Supply and others have it. Wayyyy cheaper than a foamer and you know EXACTLY where the spray went! I use the blue dye for grass, just mix it in your tank and it will leave a slight color where you sprayed that lasts no more than a day or two. Great demonstration of why I can't consider a boom, I have way too many trees and obstacles and I keep planting or building more. I also use a Mix-on-Exit system so the main tank is only water and the solution tank is all the chemicals, makes cleanup and changeover easier. Downside is I have a whole spreadsheet dedicated to figuring out the mix concentrations and spray speeds and nozzles to use for each chemical. For tractor speed I use a bicycle GPS and get speed in tenths then use full pedal and RPM to hold the speed in the ballpark.
Just a heads up for anyone wanting the 35 gallon mistrspray. I purchased on and it does not come with the tip strainer as stated. This is an awesome sprayer.
Thats a good looking sprayer. I calculated I needed to run 3 MPH. I found that I could not go 3 MPH in some places and was putting too much down. Now I cut my concentration and speed in half. I use an app on my phone for speed(speed box).
Id recommend sizing your boom to cover say 3 or 4 lawn mower stripes, just like farmers size their sprayer width with planter widths. I have a 60 inch mower deck and built a 180 inch boom from an old field cultivator mounted boom. It seems to be a good width on my property.
Wow I’m glad I don’t have to control clover and dandelions ,they grow and the insects use them to their advantage. The less chemicals used on our property the better I like it ,but each to their own . Enjoy your videos .
I've measured and 110 degree spray pattern isn't what you actually get. I had to modify my sprayer to put the nozzles a bit closer together in order to get a consistent spray pattern. Consistancy to me means no heavy or light strips between the rows. Also there is a specified height that you need to be at. To test all this spray water on concrete at your chosen speed. Then go back and look at the spray pattern. Avoid pooling or dry spots. Also like in agriculture you need to use the right tips to avoid floating droplets, especially when there is wind and you have a garden or shrubs you don't want to damage. Hope this helps.
Hey Tim, a good way to keep the algae to a minimum or eliminate it would be to add a fountain or a waterfall feature . Both would look really nice in your pond. You might check around for a windmill with a water pump feature.
We rebuilt the booms for a 500 gallon sprayer. All teejet equipment. Works great! I do need to add the strainers though. We added a boom selector valve and will be adding the capability to have a wand as well.
I assume it is a 3 point hitch mounted sprayer, although I may have missed you saying it was. If so, it seems you could raise the boom a little to avoid the ground. It also struck me that one of your larger frame tractors might be a little better fit for all that weight. Love your channel for all the experience I've gained before doing it myself.
@@TractorTimewithTimI add the laser blue and rinse the measuring cup with the water I use to fill the tank. No waste, no mess. Takes about 5 cup rinses.

CROP CARE sprayers made in Ephrata PA have pressurized sprayer tanks I have the 60 gallon bought new this year with electric pump, my choice great video
The low speed ap for your phone is called "Tractor Speed". Yes you are driving too fast and your bouncing is changing the spray pattern (narrow rows when boom is close to the ground and insufficient coverage when you are too high) and the swaying from side to side means you can't have consistent coverage and are missing spots. Height should be 18" if I remember correctly.
@@TractorTimewithTim thanks. Really like the sprayer. May have to modify the stands though, they seem to be really low to the ground when in operation.

That is a very nice setup. There is always a bit of a learning curve. Just wondering about the guage on the sprayer, it had fluid in it. Is that normal? Is it measuring fluid flow or tank pressure? Great video, really demonstrated a lot. Thanks!
Gague is measuring pump pressure to the jets so Tim can select the correct output ,have a look at the chart he explains it there near the beginning of the video
The oil in the gauge keeps the needle from bouncing around frantically. It could also easily be switched out for lower max psi gauge which would likely have a finer reading throughout its range. When you have a set size gauge you can only fit so many lines on it before its hard to read. So bigger gauge or less marks.
Final comment, personally I wouldn't worry about the trans temp until at least 275-300 especially with synthetic oil. Synthetic oil doesn't break down until almost 600.
I guess a few dandelions won't hurt. They'll look good in full bloom. You'll be feeding the insects and birds that eat them. Sooner or later you're gonna have to go green . A little love won't hurt.
Be careful they ship it “winterized” but the antifreeze they use has no freeze protection. Shipped with mix match spray tip caps. That rear foot interferes with spray and just bending is not a fix, then all will have to be bent the same because the spray patterns overlap. I think this sprayer has potential but details need polishing.
Looks awesome, but I'm afraid of what the price would be and seriously would be in big trouble with the finance committee!! But really could use that setup. Have a great weekend!!

You still really should do a “manual calibration “ as you call it so can be sure your getting the right rate on. It’s especially important with any herbicides that have a residual effectiveness.
Ah, it isn’t rocket science. I knew I was driving faster than the chart specified speed for the pressure I chose. I got a good kill on the dandelions. Not yet sure if I killed the clover. Burned it some, but not sure if dead.

Just wanted to let you know I’m waiting on my new 1025r and the dealer thought he sold it to me but the person that really sold it to me was tractor time with Tim
Congratulations!
@@TractorTimewithTim thanks
Low price? Was the price mentioned or did I miss it?
Website was mentioned :-)
The sprayer looks a little too big for 1025r maybe use the 2038r next time. Looks like a nice sprayer for sure.
Ah, I think it is fine on the 1025r.
How much it cost?
If I remember correctly, max speed in low on a 1025R is just over 4mph, which was the target speed on the chart.
Yea, that was my plan…but then i switched to high range for some reason!?!?
Speedometer in the App store is the 1 I use, the other 1 mentioned further down must be Android
I can see those parking feet getting bent or broken, especially the rear one. They need to make them retractable or removeable.
I need that for combating all the dandelions in my field

If you have a hand held GPS it will show you your MPH down to the 10ths.
