    It appears that the type of bulb you put in is an improved bulb over factory (If I'm correct) - so I was wondering if you also changed the passenger side (while you had the access) since the driver side would be brighter than stock... ?? I'm wondering if you noticed a difference in the better bulb type...

    • @PhatPharmacist
      @PhatPharmacist  5 лет назад +2

      yes, I replaced the factory bulbs on passenger side as well, just didn't film to keep video short. But, the new bulbs were much better than factory and I would recommend them. The Sylvania brand also makes bulbs for my mustang so I upgraded those as well.

    When did changing a bulb become so troublesome? I miss the old days when you could just reach in and change a bulb without pulling off the front of your vehicle.

    Watched several videos on how to do this and they all showed complex ways of doing it - Really dreaded the thought of going out to the garage to replace a headlight - right before I went out to tackle this, just happened to run across your video - sooooo much easier this way. 20 minutes to knock out both sides. thank you.

    There’s actually a way easier way. Behind the fender is a compartment that you can open to push the white pin down. Also you can remove the 2 screws with an extension and the light will come out. But either way you explained everything well 👍

    Your step-by-step approach was really good, perhaps next time you should include additional info. about what would be the correct size of the socket to use. (some people might get it wrong)
    I would also suggest putting a couple of strips of masking tape on the painted area under the headlight housing to protect the paint from possible scratches during the R&R process, as well as informing people to never touch the glass portion of the bulb assembly with their fingers, due to the oil from their skin making the bulbs run hotter and thereby burning out quicker.
    I did like the fact that you included the correct blub replacement numbers. :)

      No, original headlight alignment is maintained.

    Sorry I do not want to step on your toes and feel free to delete this, I'm just trying to inform you of a better way to teach people. If you have a newer Truck like 2018 to 2019 do not pull the drill off if you bust the tabs off that help hold the grill in place you will lose your warrantee on that, the bolts on even this model is accusable without removing the grill. you just need a 12" extension for the bottom bolt and a wrench for the top bolt. once bolts are removed then it is simple to pull the headlight out starting and pivot it out from the fender side. This is how I have been doing it at work ever since dodge mechanical rep taught us how.

    I did everything step by step and was doing fine until it was time to take the actual headlight out. It was loose, but wouild not pry out. I spent an hour trying to get the headlight out, but just had an epic fail. :-(

    Hey I have the same truck, replaced my bulbs and sometimes they come on, sometimes it's just one. I'll have to hit the headlights lightly to get them to come on. Did you have that problem?

    • @PhatPharmacist
      @PhatPharmacist  5 лет назад

      TreySkillz no, didn’t have that problem. Kinda odd that after a light tap it works again for ya, maybe there is a loose connection or some corrosion on plug, hard to say.

    • @normangettys76

      My brother had that issue on his 2009, turned out to be a bad wire on the plug

    • @turboboy0
      @turboboy0 5 лет назад +2

      it could be the tiny filament inside the bulb is broken and makes contact intermittently.

    • @shawnbond1975
      @shawnbond1975 4 года назад

      I'm having the same problem now. It is the wiring/connector for certain. It turns out that's a common problem with Rams. It makes me wonder if my bulbs were actually burned out the first time I replaced them.
