(3/3) My name is Ewan Cunningham, I'm 19 years old and I'm a self taught musician. I started playing drums at the age of 4 and and continued to only play drums until I started branching out into other instruments such as guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals. I've been teaching myself to mix, record and film music since I was 10 years old and this is my passion.
Here is the final video from my latest "Live At The Dobbie Hall" recording. This is a one man band cover of "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd from their 1979 album "The Wall".
Well here it is. The grand finale! I hope you enjoy my attempt to recreate the sound and feel of this Pink Floyd classic. Everything you see and hear in this video was recorded, filmed, mixed and edited entirely by me. I based this cover on a mix of the original version and the live versions from 1980. You'll notice that the backing vocals go on for longer during the "I have become Comfortably Numb" line. I heard this on the live version and loved it. I also extended the guitar solo, incorporating some licks that Gilmour played live whilst also improvising my own parts.

There is no substitute for Gilmour, but this kid is as close as I've heard even with the artistic license. Good job.

I em Pink Floyd fan as long as I remember. I've never heard such of passion and filling and devotion for the Pink Floyd. Comfortably Numb is masterpiece and you played it like being actually one person Pink Floyd!!!!!!! When I've closed my eyes I've forgotten is not Pink Floyd. I'm speechless!!!!!

As I said before Ewan, you surpass yourself each time. There are a lot of good and great covers of Numb on RUclips, many very technically excellent but yours has feeling & insight as to the piece too which is often lacking in others not to mention your study of the piece & its versions. Your recording values are just superb as well and I find it hard to believe and to remember, you have only been adding your vocal styling for about the last year. Well done keep it up - thank you.

Of course I have my listening routine when I enjoy artists and their music. I try to keep up with new artists and new sounds, true. Yet at my core are the greats of my time. Had I been told 5 years ago that anyone could stand on the stage with Pink Floyd I would have laughed. Of course no one ever said such a silly thing to me. Today I am the voice that says, yes, there is one who can stand with Pink Floyd. That one is you, Ewan. Nothing I could write will express the gratitude for the gifts of your talent. When you sing or play or, as in this performance, you are brilliant beyond your years. As a percussionist, you remind me that there is no substitute for pure talent. Talent is more than training it is something from deep inside the artist that brings expression to the talent and, training. Your talent surpasses most of the "new" artists. But, then you cannot be simply reviewed because your talent is ancient. Your talent and your instinctual, subtle manipulations are what has always made music what it is: a doorway into what is real. When I pick a lineup for my enjoyment, you are always a part of my selection and I hear you with the greats. Thank you, young man.

Dude. The moment I realised that it was you playing all the instruments really messed with me. Amazing cover. Solos are nice and clear and distinguishable. Most covers I've seen, the solos don't really seem right. I'm a believer in never covering certain songs such as this but you do the song passion and respect for a classic.
